My husband was admitted to Sharston House in January 2025 having spent most of December in hospital. We abandoned our wish to take care of him at home, sadly and reluctantly after his diagnosis indicated that he required professional nursing care.
Sharston House has more than answered the needs of
my husband and ourselves, his family. Professional standard nursing, an attractive bed sitting room and most importantly, kind, empathic and tireless care has offered us as a family, a welcome reassurance. Thank you, Sharston House!

Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother was here for the period of 2019 to 2023 and we were so pleased with everything about the provision it was such an easy decision when it came to choosing a care home for my auntie. All the staff engage with the residents and there's always plenty going on to stimulate them, lots of activities
and entertainment. The food is always nice and there's plenty of it. The home is always spotlessly clean and the residents nicely turned out. Overall a fab place and one I would highly recommend.

Reply from Bev Davies, Home Manager at Four Oaks Care Home

Thank you for your lovely review. We're delighted that you were so pleased with the care your mother received and that it made choosing us for your auntie an easy decision. It's wonderful to hear that you appreciate our staff's engagement, the activities, and the cleanliness of the home. Your recommendation means the world to us, and we're grateful for your trust.

Branksome Heights

from C D (Cousin of Resident) published on 11 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Prior to my relative becoming a resident of Branksome Heights, he would take respite breaks there. He was always very complimentary about the care he received. He is now a permanent resident and on the occasions I have visited I have always been made to feel welcome by any staff member whom I happen
to come across. My relative is always taking part in activities - as seen in photographs on social media - and I think that is brilliant and more to the point he is well cared for. The food is exceptional for a care home. I really do think it's a lovely care home.

Downham Grange

from Derek A (Cousin of Resident) published on 10 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I would like to leave this review, on behalf of my relative. We did hear a few negative views, but this was not the case when my relative stayed here.
My relative stayed at the home after having an operation done for rehabilitation. It was great experience for him and us family and friends that came
to visit him during his stay at Downham Grange. The environment is clean, odourless and spacious to move around in his electric wheelchair. The staff are very caring and attentive and friendly. I would recommend the home despite the CQC report almost 2 years. Initially the report was discouraging, but am glad we tried and we did not regret. If you are thinking of letting your family member stay here, go and have a look at the place first. You will be surprised how good the place is.
A big thank you to everyone in Downham Grange Care Home.

My uncle moved to the care home recently. My family were apprehensive at first but he seems to enjoy it. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive. They go above and beyond to make him feel comfortable and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I would recommend this Downham Grange.

Buckingham Lodge

from Amanda K (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

An excellent care home. My Mum and step dad were both resident at Buckingham Lodge. Following my stepdad's passing in November, I asked if we could hold a gathering at the home for friends and family after his cremation. I was very thankful and impressed with how well looked after we all were. We were
given a private room, afternoon tea was laid on and we were personally looked after by a member of staff.
Since this sad event, the staff have looked after Mum very well, encouraging her to join activities, offering time, and support. She was moved to a new room and maintenance staff helped make this as homely as possible. Buckingham Lodge is a very caring place, staff show exceptional kindness to Mum and I am always made to feel very welcome when I visit.

Thank you for your review, Mum has settled so well and is a great character in our home. Mum loves joining in the activities and walking in the gardens. Mum has excelled in our yoga sessions and puts a lot of us to shame. We look forward to seeing you again very soon.

Mum was in for one weeks respite care following an operation. From the moment we went into the home we felt welcomed. Everyone was smiling and couldn't do enough for us. The care was good and staff were positive and respectful of how mum wanted to have her care done. She loved the fact that she could
have a bath. If we need respite care again, Downham Grange is at the top of our list.

King's Court Care Home

from Joanna B (Daughter of Resident) published on 4 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Our father, aged 84 years with terminal COPD and emphysema, was reaching the end of his life. After a couple of falls, he was rushed into A and E and then admitted to hospital. The hospital was not the place he or we wanted him to spend his final days, so we arranged for him to move to Kings Court.
He was assessed in the hospital by the head of nursing care who came out to see him and was extremely helpful in guiding us on how to manage his conditions and make him comfortable. Once he reached King's Court, the excellent care and attention he received from everyone, albeit for a short period of time, was wonderful. He died peacefully amongst family in a beautiful room overlooking the garden, with plenty of time and quiet space to say his final goodbyes. Everyone at King's Court was incredibly helpful, kind and compassionate, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone in a similar position and would be happy to give a reference if required.

Reply from Debbie Bush, Home Manager at King's Court Care Home

Thank you for the kind words. We were honoured to have supported your father, you and the family when you needed it most. Thoughts are with you all.
