Winfield Lodge Residential Home

from V M (Sister of Resident) published on 19 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My sister has been at Winfield Lodge for 19 months during that time she has been treated very well as she has been very difficult at times. Mainly because of her dementia. I have been kept updated about her welfare at all times.
Activities are excellent and residents are always encouraged to take part,
I have also enjoyed these times as a visitor.
Unfortunately my sister is near end of life. But still treated with dignity, keep up the good work.

I have nothing but praise for the care my husband receives, in my view the friendly + smiling staff do a very difficult job with respect, dignity + compassion, they are always alert and attentive to the residents and visitors needs. They also check that I am ok. I feel less stressed that he is well
cared for.

My Friend has been at Culverhayes nursing home for nearly 3 years. The care she gets is great from all the staff are so friendly and caring. The food is lovely well balanced and good choice menu is change regularly so keeps meal time intresting. Over the last 3 years the home has gone through an amazing
transformation by there own team of trades people making it a bright and lovely environment for the residents. The gardens are lovely for a afternoon in the sun with my friend. The wellbeing staff are always coming up with entertainments to help the residents to relax and enjoy life. The house keeping team keep the place clean, and the residents cloths washed daily, so they always look there best. I could not have have found a better place for my friend.

Every time over 5 years that I called (randomly) the staff were kind, and in between kept me well updated on my people's condition. If something wasn't good (eg not eating/infection/other) they rang me immediately. Staff always jolly and patient with all residents. When my people were dying, they rang
me and urged me to com in. The husband died, staff great when the wife was dying they rang me early AM, I got there and they provided me with excellent food all day and checked frequently on us. I felt the couple were well loved and so was I.

Very satisfied with the support my wife gets. All staff seem to be dedicated to their work and appear to be happy doing it.
The care home is clean and tidy and the grounds well kept. I have problems remembering the various security codes on the internal doors but understand why they are needed.

I am one of a group of friends who found ourselves caring for a mutual friend who was terminally ill with cancer. After a terrible few weeks when he was in and out of hospital, and we were having to share the role of primary carer at his home, he was ultimately released from the hospital into your care.
It was such a relief to feel that we were no longer responsible for him on a daily basis and we were all really impressed with the level of care he received from you right up until he passed away.
The staff were all brilliant, regularly checking in on him and really caring him for him. Weekly checks by a doctor and specialised nurses added to the comprehensive package of care he received. Although he was unable to eat very much, the food was excellent, even to the point when some piping hot fish and chips, followed by rice pudding, were left untouched, my wife said she'd book me a place in the future when she could see how much my mouth was watering!

My experience of care homes over the years has been where they have provided end of life care for members of my family and for friends.
The quality of the care that I have seen at Cedar Park is exceptionally high and this applies to all members of staff that I have met from the top through the entire
team.
The compassion and care that I have experienced here and the excellent communication makes a huge difference at a time when friends and family are trying to navigate uncharted waters. Hospice nurses have been absolutely incredible working closely with staff at Cedar Park. It's extremely important to feel that you are all in safe, qualified and experienced hands at this critical time in our lives. The staff excel at this and seeing how they all genuinely care passionately about how they can help make a dire situation completely tolerable, even joyful at times is a huge blessing.
Thank you all so much.

My god father spent the final few weeks of his life at Cedar Park Nursing Home.
Without exception, the staff were attentive, caring, kind and professional.
There were some complicated medical requirements involving wound dressings, and visits from a specialist tissue nurse and another nurse confirmed
that the wounds were being managed very well.
I would recommend this home without reservation.

I was very pleased with the overall nursing care my mother has received during her nearly five years of residency. Many of the carers felt like family as she and I had known them so long. ALways happy and obliging - after my mother had trained new staff members to her standards. In the last year there
has been little staff changes so good to know my mum wasn't trying to get to know new people constantly. Food was an issue for my mother, but as an ex-cookery teacher she had high standards. Value I cannot comment as nothing to compare, except pay privately £300 more than NHS pay!
