Even though Mum was only in The Lodge at Oakhill Mansions for one week at the end of her life, the care she received was faultless. The staff were caring, gentle and compassionate They also looked after our reeds and nothing was too much to ask
The home has such a calm atmosphere and everywhere. Was
clean and tidy/organised.
I really would like to thank all of the staff involved with Mum, you all made a difficult time for us much more bearable. Thankyou.

My beloved husband has been a resident for over a year. At all times, he has received Gold Standard Care, and we, as a family, received the same respect from all the amazing caring staff at Dearbourne Manor. The team truly do understand his needs not only from a nursing perspective but from the perspective
of the person who is an individual living with dementia. The atmosphere is always calm, activities are available, amazing cuisine, smiling staff, constant updates on care and excellent communication.

My mother-in-law is very happy at Saville Manor Nursing Home. She has had a lot of care needs as she reaches her 90th Birthday. The staff have been essential and very quick to respond to her changing medical needs. They are extremely hard-working and always greet us with a smile on our visits. My husband

My father has been a resident at Oakhill Mansions for over a year now, and I am very pleased with the high standard of care he receives. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they create a calm, caring and spotlessly clean environment. During our visits, my family always feels very welcome, and we
are always able to discuss any medical issues with the nurse. The home itself is a beautiful building with light, airy rooms and a lovely garden where we can take Dad outside in the warm weather. I would highly recommend this nursing home.

The care that Saville Manor have provided to both my parents has been exemplary. Mum and Dad always felt at home where nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They were always welcoming and caring and as a family, we will be forever thankful for all the care and love they showed to our family. All
the staff, regardless of their role, care about the residents and treat them as their extended family. Residents are treated with respect and dignity and staff endeavour to tailor activities to people's interests and abilities by getting to know each individual. I regularly recommend Saville Manor as a care home and will continue to do so.

Oakhill Mansions

from Lisa L (Daughter of Resident) published on 17 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5

Dreadful experience over 18 months. Only interested in £££. Staff poorly trained (especially dementia). English skills very poor - elderly residents don't understand staff and staff don't understand important medical/social needs. Two activity coordinators for 90 residents! Stressed, under resourced/unappreciated.
Very little activity provided. Refused to use minibus, never took people out. I took mum out three times a week to compensate. I was exhausted, all for extortionate fee of £8,000 per month. Apart from basic and nursing care, there's no love or respect, no consistency of staff in a dementia unit and 'manager' inept/powerless. Mum fell down concrete steps (Christmas day), as no outside lights and fake foliage on handrails so mum couldn't hold on! She was 89 and could have died. I fed back all my concerns via their own well-being survey, totally ignored. Contacted the owners, unaware and did not care. Equipment was broken and filthy. Food and laundry ok but a dead, joyless place. Do not send family there. Awful.

Reply from Elizabeth Denny, Area Manager at Oakhill Mansions

We are sorry and surprised that you still feel this way, despite many attempts to rectify your concerns in early 2024. An external consultant investigated your concerns, many were determined unfounded, but improvements were made. For example, when your mother resided at Oakhill, we hired private vehicles for individual outings which were regularly used by your mother. However, in response to your feedback, the company now owns three large Minibuses for Residents' outings. Regarding the fall, unfortunately, you chose to use the stairs while accompanying your mother, instead of the disabled access slope. Following the fall, you praised our staff in writing, for their swift and caring response. Your Mother was at Oakhill Mansions for 18 months until April 2024, during that time you gave a lot of positive feedback about our staff and your mother's care. We continue to receive praise for our caring staff. There have never been concerns raised about their English proficiency before now.
