My dad is a resident at Stuart House. It was a difficult decision for the family to place dad into a home, however we could no longer look after him at home , he needed 24/7 care. Dad has been a resident at Stuart House for 3 months now- in a short time all the carers has got to know dad personality,
offering support/ patience & understanding of his needs. Dad is settled within his environment and the staff are always friendly & informative of dads well being. The home offers in -house entertainment aswell as trips out for residents . It gives myself & my family peace of mind without a doubt how well dad is , he's safe & cared for. Thank you to all the carers/ staff you are all Amazing !

From the moment my sister and I were greeted by a particular staff member we have felt that the staff couldn't do enough for our mother. The home is always calm and happy. The activities lady is amazing, the manager knows everything that is going on. All the care staff are helpful, tender with the

Cannot thank enough the manager and the team for their work they do for residents and their families. The manager cares so much about the place and the residents that she makes sure that she is always available. Her communication skills are amazing, she doesn't make people wait and she goes beyond and
above to resolve the issues if there are any. Her team has been supporting my husband with his needs for almost two years and I know he is in good hands and well looked after.
Thank you.

Today I witnessed the stressful situation the manager was put in by the NHS Channels that she has to go through to get a resident medical help.
My brother has a terminal illness.
The doctor was called around 9.30 am .After waiting for the doctor for a few hours we were told that the surgery is at
capacity!!! Advised to call 111. Which was done around 2.30 .
My brother was moved from his room so that she could keep a watchful eye , in case he went unconscious.
At around 5 ish the 111 doctor telephoned, we were asked to be present so we could also talk to the doctor. We took in turns speaking.
I explained that my brother's condition, encephalopathy was showing all the signs of him needing urgent care. This doctor appeared not to listen to my concerns let alone that of the very experienced nursing home manager. I've escalated the paramedic request.
My brother was admitted to hospital at 9pm.
The mananger and staff were amazing.
All this and caring for everyone else.

Staff all very nice and genuinely seem to care about the residents. Care home is a bit dated but clean and homely feel to it. Food always looks nice. I am always offered a drink when I visit. I don't think the staff are able to give my mum the care she needs but this is down to mum's mental health and
lack of support from wider authorities.

Casa di Lusso Nursing Home

from Dawn C (Daughter of Resident) published on 24 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My Father moved to Casa di Lusso in July 2023 and sadly passed in February 2025, but his time at the home exceeded my expectations. Dad had complex dementia and medical needs but nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. They were always quick to reassure me and keep me in the loop with regard
to any issues that arose, and helped complete necessary forms and documents. Dad was encouraged to join in activities, many of which he would never have considered when younger, and one lovely memory I have, is of him flower arranging, something that was always my Mother's domain.
All the staff are amazing, and truly care. To be greeted by name as you arrive, for them to tell you that "Dad was very chatty this morning when they walked through the unit" or "He's a bit grumpy today" really lifted a burden off my shoulders.
My Dad had the best care possible, and now he's gone I will miss the smiles and caring staff that made our dementia journey bearable.

Reply from Pip Harris, Marketing Manager at Casa di Lusso Nursing Home

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of Casa di Lusso in this lovely and personal review. We are truly sorry for your loss and extend our deepest condolences to you and your family. It was a privilege to care for your father, and the team at Casa is honoured to have been a part of his journey. Your kind words about our staff and the care your father received mean everything. Our staff strive to create a warm & supportive environment for residents and their families, and knowing that they could provide comfort during this time is incredibly meaningful. The memory of your father arranging flowers is beautiful, and we are so pleased that he was able to engage in activities that brought him joy. It is these special moments that make what we do so rewarding. Please know that our team will remember your father fondly, and we are grateful that you felt supported throughout his time with us. If there is anything we can do for you, please don't hesitate to reach out.
