Primley Court Nursing Home

The staff at Primley cared for my mom from July 2024 right up to her passing late February 2025. At first she was at Primley Court which specialises in support for dementia residents. However, as other conditions took over she was moved to Primley View, which is more suited for end-of-life nursing care.
Both places have incredible staff, but the View was better for her being smaller, more homely and very quiet and peaceful.
I cannot praise the Manager, and all her team enough for the care and attention that Mom received. Nothing was too much trouble and every need catered for. And I really value the communication, sensitivity and support that I have had.
On a practical level they are so accommodating - not waking Mom up for meals and showers etc. , but instead fitting in everything around her waking hours. Her room was light and cheerful, and always lovely and warm. Bedding/clothing was changed regularly and she always looked so comfortable.
Thank you so much for everything

I can't speak highly enough of Primley View. The care, respect and commitment from all staff was incredible. Dad always looked clean, smart and clean shaved which was very important to him. He found personal care difficult because he wanted to do it himself but was unable. The staff were always patient,
understanding, considerate and caring remaining respectful of his wishes at all times. The entertainment provided was always wonderful and I am so grateful to all the staff there for their wonderful, considerate care for Dad, myself and family. Thank you so much.

My Dad was in Primley View for about 10 months. The care, support, empathy, and professionalism toward Dad and his family from all the staff was outstanding. We knew he was in safe hands and well cared for. Always clean-shaven and nicely dressed. Everyone made a sad situation a little easier to handle.
We know Dad is missed and we miss the Primley View family. You're all amazing. Dad is off on his travels now and we will never be able to thank you enough!

It took me a while to understand and accept what the nursing home did and was. I could not have been better reassured by the staff. They explained the treatment/medication and every part of what they were doing to make my partner's stay a better experience. Every person employed at the home treated
my partner, myself, and my family with a smile, help, and understanding. They made the last 2 and 1/2 months bearable. I will miss all of them very much. Thank you is not enough.

I am delighted with the level of care that my Grandad has received in his 6 months at Primley Court. He is a very unpredictable, complex character that needs a very specific approach and Primley have delivered. There is always an abundance of staff from carers and nurses to cleaners and housekeeping.
Everyone is very patient and the delivery of care is well-managed to make sure nothing is missed.

I'm doing a review again because I honestly think this care home is amazing. My mum has had a rough time lately with many seizures related to Alzheimer's and I have been so well supported by the staff to make decisions regarding her ongoing care. They also have been so fabulous with my mum and her behaviour.
She is well cared for. The food is cooked on site and good quality and varied. My mum remains physically well because of this and despite her challenging condition she is happy as the staff are so good. They love her like family and that's such a relief and means I don't worry so much. The nursing team is truly excellent, and caring, supportive and sensible decision making. I can approach the manager at any time, and she is excellent. They know my mum very well and are so patient and caring. The activities on are really really good. There's always something going on. They also educate relatives. It's absolutely outstanding. We are well-supported.

From the day he arrived, my husband seemed to settle. He is calmer, happier (as far as I can tell) and eats far more than he used to. Everyone, without exception, is caring, calm and just wonderful with the residents. I am so happy my husband came here.

I absolutely agree with so many of the comments made by other people. My wife has Alzheimer's and entered Primley Court in a very poor state last November after a stay in hospital. Over the last 9 months, they have slowly settled her down until she is as comfortable as possible. The atmosphere is calm
and almost homely and the staff are all really caring and concerned. It always seems fresh and my wife is well presented and obviously relates well with them. My worries have been greatly reduced since they looked after her and they have welcomed our family as well. Lovely home, with lovely staff and an excellent attitude from the management. Thank you!

It's hard to put into words how difficult it is to place a relative in a nursing home knowing this will be the last place they will live. From our very first visit, it just felt 'right'. All of the staff are friendly and welcoming, you can tell from the atmosphere and how they interacted with the other
staff, visitors, and residents that they enjoy working there and want to be there. I cannot tell you how many times they just made themselves available to sit with Mum, comfort her, and spend quality time with her. They were incredibly supportive towards us too, they showed genuine kindness. Sadly Mum passed away and they all talked about little routines or special jokes they shared with her, always there with a smile and hand squeeze. I felt they knew her and cared for her. They kept us informed of all medical issues and personal care was excellent. They treated her with dignity, respect, and genuine care.

From the beginning of my husband's stay at The Leonard Elms (nearly 3 years), I have been very happy with the care he has received. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and they will often go the extra mile to ensure the comfort and well-being of the residents. Visitors are allowed any time (pandemics
permitting)! and always made very welcome. I would recommend the home to anyone seeking specialist dementia care.

My Dad was admitted to Primley View at the end of January for end-of-life care. The whole team at Primley View was superb in their care of my Dad and I can't fault them; it's never an easy situation but the team made it as straightforward as they could. Their kindness to myself and my sister as well
as my Dad was above and beyond what we expected. My Dad's care was second to none, he was well looked after and as a proud ex-military man who had been completely independent all of his life, I know this was no mean feat as he was quite demanding and certainly not used to having anyone look after his hygiene needs. The team is the best there is, they are all very giving of their time and attention, and nothing is too much trouble. The kindness extended to us when he passed was very much appreciated. In a busy world, where people are expected to do more and more, this team was never too busy to care - and that means everything. Thank you!

My husband became a resident at Primley Court on 6th Jan 23, he was very underweight, anxious, and tormented.
The staff have all been very kind and caring and patient towards him, over a period of weeks he became happier and calmer and regained his lost weight.
All the staff have shown kindness and
empathy towards me on my visits, they are always busy with the residents, chatting or walking with them. A lovely friendly atmosphere.

The manager and her team at Primley View have cared for my dad for the past few years. The whole team have gone above and beyond caring for my father. Every time we visited him he was well dressed, clean and tidy. Every single day until the day he passed away he was clean-shaven.
We always felt
confident in knowing that he was being looked after so well. They understood all sides of his personality and the complex struggles which came with the dementia. Dad had Parkinson’s and the nursing home was able to cater for his needs exceptionally. As dad’s struggles continued the home shared this journey with us as a family. We will never be able to thank them enough. As my mum stayed by his side, they always made her feel welcome and offered high-quality, delicious hot meals and drinks.
We were overwhelmed by not just the care and support they showed Dad but also the love that they showed him and the rest of us as a family. We are grateful from the bottom of our hearts.

My husband was admitted after falling and being admitted to the hospital with a fractured hip (from home). He spent 8 weeks in hospital after catching Covid also. He spent almost 2 weeks in the home and he decided he couldn't deal with the pain after having it for over 5 years. The staff were absolutely
marvellous. Nothing was too much trouble, so kind and patient in the nursing home. A real credit to you.
