The management team and staff are excellent people and can not be faulted in their dealing with patients/people who really need care and attention. The job description requires staff to be resilient and caring in order to deal with a whole number of requests at any given time. Well done to everyone
at Godolphin House Care Home and thank you from me a satisfied husband of a complex client.

Since my mum has been here, she has been better in her health and mind. Staff have been kind and treat her with dignity at all times. We have been so happy because Mum is happy and very settled. I can approach any of your staff and they are very approachable and always willing to help if they can.

Unfortunately, there are too many care homes that fall beneath acceptable standards for our loved ones. Menwinnion is not one of them. In my opinion care homes are the last homes for the people we once had in our lives, letting them go, to be cared for by others is a truly scary time. Menwinnion has
allowed me to hand over my mother in desperate circumstances knowing she is now safe and cared for 24/7.

My uncle is very settled and happy at Philiphaugh, which is lovely to see, and I am very grateful to all the staff there. I watch him interact with the staff and can see that they really do understand his needs. His room is spacious and always warm. Whilst I do not see the food at the home I have given
a high score as my uncle tells me how much he enjoys his meals.

Menwinnion Country House Care Home

from Michael K (Resident) published on 14 May 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

In the last seven months with the exception of two days I have spent all of my time in three NHS hospitals and two care homes. The staff and management I have met at Menwinnion have all been with the only very occasional exception, kind, helpful and attentive and as a group of people made my life far
happier than anywhere else. It is my wish that I will remain here.

Philiphaugh Manor

from Terry G (Brother of Resident) published on 14 May 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 3.0 out of 5

My brother has not lived at home with his wife for two years. For the first eight months he was either in hospital or in a home in another town. Philiphaugh is the only place he has been settled. He has never asked to be taken home and is happy with the food and all the staff there. The building is
sad and does need updating, but the staff are wonderful and to the family this is what we care about for him more than any posh building.

I was quite apprehensive of my mother entering a care home, however, my first thoughts and feelings of Philiphaugh Manor was what a nice atmosphere, immediately quelling my anxiety. Greeted by a senior member of staff who was very welcoming, sympathetic and optimistic. I felt reassured. The room my
mother occupies is warm, clean and suitable for her. Every time we visit, the staff are very friendly and helpful and my mum said she couldn't be happier. She has only been there a month and I am reassured she is being looked after very well but very nice competent staff.

My mum has lived at Philiphaugh for 2 years. She is very settled now. She likes all the staff and says they are nice. I know my mum is happy here as she is always happy and settled when I see her. The staff are well trained, knowledgeable, and kind. They are always happy to chat and tell me how Mum
is doing. They listen to my thoughts about my mum’s care. It would be great if they could get someone to take the residents out in the minibus again, now the weather is improving.

When we visit my sister at Philiphaugh Manor, the staff are always pleasant and welcoming. Staff are very tentative, they sit and chat with residents and take care of all their needs. My sister's room is good, it has a TV, large window, en-suite and is always clean and tidy.

Godolphin House Care Home

from V T (Respite Resident) published on 13 March 2024

After a month in hospital I needed to recuperate before returning to my home in Porthleven. Godolphin House Care Home Helston was the perfect choice and I greatly enjoyed my stay there. It was a cross between a four-star hotel and a nursing home. The accommodation was excellent, nothing was 'shoddy'.
The food was always delicious and the efficient staff were unfailingly helpful, patient and cheerful. If ever the need arose, I would be happy to return!

My father has been in Menwinnion since 30/04/2022. He is being cared for so well, we cannot thank the staff at Menwinnion enough. we know that he is well-supported there. He is loved by everyone as he is such a character. The staff keep him clean, fed, watered, pain-free, safe and loved and we are grateful
for this. We are so glad that he has such an excellent place to stay as we couldn't look after him with Alzheimers.

Review of

Menwinnion Country House Care Home

from Tara A (Daughter of Resident) published on 13 February 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My experience of Menwinnion is excellent. The staff and management are respectful, kind and caring to the residents and do their utmost to keep them calm and happy in a person-centred way.
When Mum needed to go into care, it was such a difficult time, but decision-making was made easier because of
the support we received from the team, helping us to understand every step of the process. Mum was fully involved, given informed choices and asked about how she wanted to be supported in the future when she became less independent. The fact that she could take her beloved cat also made a huge difference to her wellbeing. Mum's dementia has, at times, taken some cruel twists, but the staff adapt to these changes by offering more intensive support to ensure she maintains her dignity. Any concerns about changes to her health are always shared with me and followed up.
I can't thank Menwinnion enough for what they do for my Mum and for how they support us both through the dementia journey.
