I would like to pay a huge compliment to Magnolia House staff for all their kindness towards my mum when she moved in Mum was anxious and nervous she always wanted to be out and about with myself and my brother, however today she rang me to cancel our trip out tomorrow as she has decided to go out with
her friends in Magnolia, I never thought I would see this day but here it is so again I'd like to say a huge thank you to the manager and all the staff for making my mum so welcome and happy you are a great bunch.

I have been visiting our family member for a number of months and have been really pleased with the staff. It has been a difficult and emotional time but they have been supportive, helpful and extremely patient and respectful. They have understood the problems and have adapted and overcome any situation
that has arisen. It is lovely that this care home is managed with such commitment.
It is nice to see the improvements that are slowly being implemented new chairs etc and make for a more pleasant environment for residents and us visitors alike.

My wife is safe and well cared for. I could not provide at home the quality of life that she has at Sunningdale. The manager takes note and acts on suggestions of the loved ones of the residents e.g. visiting is now so flexible and convenient and fulfilling. Staff are always caring and kind to the residents.
The entertainment for residents is well organised and I appreciate being present at musical events at which my wife shines. My wife's room is small but I think she just uses it to sleep.

Netherhayes has a homely feel and the staff are varied and friendly. We visit my partner's dad very regularly and we are always greeted with a friendly smile. The care staff are very patient and kind to residents, even in very trying situations. The location is ideal - a short wheelchair push to the
seafront and the many cafes, so it's easy for us to take Dad out. We are very happy with the choice we made.

Dad has been in here for about five weeks. He has settled in ok, the staff are very attentive, there is a good selection of food although Dad has lost his appetite. He spends most of his time in the conservatory. Dad being in here has given me peace of mind.

The staff at Sunningdale House are always very friendly, helpful and nice whenever I call in or telephone. The home itself always seems immaculately clean and a very pleasant place to be. There is no offensive smell as I have experienced in other homes. In every way, I have been very pleasantly surprised
by Sunningdale House and their kind, patient treatment of my friend. They certainly go the extra mile.

My mother has been a resident at Netherhayes for just over seven years. Throughout this time the quality of care has never diminished and remains excellent to date. I’ve witnessed first-hand the team’s compassion, empathy, professionalism and great care towards my mother and indeed to all residents.
The standard of cleanliness throughout the home is high as is the attention to personal hygiene both for staff and residents. The meals are good quality and varied with residents choosing what suits their pallets. Activities range from crafts, armchair exercises and games, singing along with some of the musicians who visit regularly or going on outings, for example to the Donkey Sanctuary - a particular favourite of my mother’s. I’m welcomed warmly each time I visit and always get a call if there are any issues needing my attention. My mother often tells me how happy she is to be at Netherhayes and that’s all I need to hear!

My mother joined Netherhayes Care Home in June 2021. She has dementia and over the past 2.5 years, this has deteriorated. The level of care shown to my mum has never wavered. The care staff has a friendly outlook and respect for the residents they lovingly look after. My mum is very happy in the home
and has a lovely smile for all the staff, carers and management. She loves it when they interact with her. I feel this has been a happy time for her.

There is always a warm welcome from all staff.
The home is always very clean. It is well decorated. My husband gets good care from the carers. They are always willing to help. He is always clean and dressed appropriately. He enjoys the food and offered an alternative if it's something he does not like.
There are plenty of activities to join in. He has been on many outings outside the home.

I find the home of a good standard, but the dining room is too small for the amount of residents and the shower room needs updating or divided so the toilet can be used when someone is showering.

Reply from Kay Smith, General Manager at Netherhayes

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for the points raised. We are pleased that you feel the home is of a good standard, and we agree that the dining area has become too small; this is due to more residents using the dining area rather than dining in the privacy of their own rooms, so we are in the process of recreating an additional dining area, which was previously in use. With regards to the shower room, it unfortunately is not viable to divide the room due to the space required for wheelchair access, but we do have several other toilets available on the ground floor.

Netherhayes

from Joanne A (Daughter of Resident) published on 5 January 2024

Netherhayes are fantastic, I really can not rate this home enough in the short amount of space I have here. All the staff make the residents feel special by the individual care and attention they receive and are led by the fantastic manager. My dad enjoys the lovely cooked food, along with the daily
entertainment of singers, games, crafts, days out etc. Xmas day 2023 was a delight, so much effort went in by all the team to make it special and not one resident went without a gift from Santa. The residents visited otter nurseries on the lead up to Xmas and carried out so many decorations and Xmas arts/crafts to really get both the residents and staff alike into the Xmas spirit. The atmosphere on the big day really was quite emotional and I couldn't ask for a better place for my dad to be and can rest at night knowing he's in such fantastic hands. As a staff member told me 'we treat all our residents as if they are family' and honestly, it shows!

Reply from Kay Smith, General Manager at Netherhayes

Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. It is of the upmost importance to us that each and every resident is treated as part of our family and we would all want our family to have the best Christmas and by the sound of it this was achieved. We are so pleased to know how much you appreciate the dedication and hard work of our manager and her team and this makes us very proud of what we do.
