Oak House Care Home

from D H (Brother of Resident) published on 2 February 2023
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

My review is restricted to short visits. During that time, the staff have been helpful and considerate. Games have been organized for patients, and attempts made to include all, creating a pleasant atmosphere in what otherwise could be described as a sombre setting. Fun was had by all, staff included.
At times, tea has been served to visitors.

Oak House Care Home

from Jane P (Daughter of Resident) published on 31 January 2023
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

We have been impressed by the care and understanding of our father and the family as a whole. We have all been embraced by the team and have been reassured by the professionalism and commitment the team has to its residents.
They have taken the time and given great attention to getting to know our
father and working with him to meet his needs. He is well cared for, and all his needs are met. He has become so much more relaxed and happy since arriving at Oak House.
The activities run for the residents are carefully thought through with the aim to ensure that the residents do not feel alone at this time in their life and are made to feel at the centre of the staff's attention.
Oak House has a happy, family home feel, made possible by the professionalism, hard work and, most of all, kindness and meaningful care of the team to its residents, who are at the centre of all that they do.

Furzeham Lodge Care Home

from Roger S (Son of Resident) published on 8 September 2020
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Both my mother and mother-in-law have been cared for by Furzeham Lodge and in both cases, the standard of care has been exemplary. The staff are well trained, very professional, extremely caring towards the residents and the team is ably led by the manager and his deputy. The residents' rooms and public
areas are very comfortable, well decorated and kept spotlessly clean and you never encounter nasty odours when you enter the building. The food is excellent and there is a wide range of activities laid on to help keep the residents active and engaged.

Furzeham Lodge Care Home

from Paul H (Son of Resident) published on 15 January 2019
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother was a resident at Furzeham Lodge for the last four months of her life. She had dementia, congestive heart failure and was infirm.
Her care was marvellous. We found that all the staff were knowledgeable about every last aspect of my mum's day to day welfare and there was a good staffing level
such that there was always someone to help mum and always someone for us to consult. We found that there was always a range of activities on offer and a variety of food that my mum liked eating. My mum found the staff very likeable.
Medically, we found the staff to be very on the ball and pro-active and were noticing minor ailments that had escaped my own eye and were good at managing the larger medical conditions.
We feel very pleased to have found Furzeham Lodge and are very grateful to their staff for such consistently high levels of care.

Furzeham Lodge Care Home

from Jane (Sister of Resident) published on 27 November 2017
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

The home is clean and the staff are all very friendly. No matter what time of the day or evening we arrived, we were always made to feel welcome. All of the staff are very good with all of the residents- no matter what mood the resident was in at that time, and whoever was on duty always contacted us
when there were problems or when the doctors had been called in. They were also very helpful in passing on the appropriate information and hints when my sister was being discharged home.

My Mum has now been looked after by the all the staff at Furzeham Lodge for nearly 6 years. They have seen and helped Mum through her declining stages of dementia and forced immobility due to her illness. My sisters and I are so grateful to all the management and staff for the care, kindness and empathy
that they have shown to Mum and us through her decline. It's difficult to describe in words how much this means and simply it just means everything to know that Mum is in kind, caring and supportive hands. I cannot recommend this home enough. It's down to each of the team and the amazing job they do.
