I, of course, do not know to which resident you refer but, whilst it is of course their choice how to spend their time, it's a shame they do not take part in the activities - these don't have to be group activities but can also be one to one. Please do have a chat with the care home manager if this is of concern and we can look at different approaches to perhaps encourage this person to take part in some way. I think we can all empathise greatly with how you mum was feeling when it became clear that she would have to go to a nursing home following her stay in hospital. She probably just wanted to get home and 'back to normal' - we see this a lot (of course). But we also see a lot exactly your mums experience having arrived at the nursing home - lovely staff, well cared for, food, daily chores all taken care of etc. And, most importantly, always somebody on hand to help or just have a chat with. It's lovely to read that your mum appears to have settled in well and that you and your family are always made welcome as well:) Kindest regards.

She has settled remarkably well after living in her own home before her admission to hospital.
The staff are wonderful very attentive to Mum's needs. Since arriving, they have encouraged Mum to eat and drink unaided which is a joy
They have made us all extremely welcome when visiting and even given great grandchildren ice cream on a recent visit.
Nothing is too much trouble. Nothing but love and care given to Mum.

With regards the the sport on TV - we have found that a number of residents now have their own sports subscription services. The televisions in our rooms are all smart so can access the homes WiFi so are able to log in to these services. It's lovely to read that your dad enjoys the food and says it is good. Yes, with the better weather we are looking forward to seeing the mini bus used more often this summer - we have also recently had success in finding a driver - this has been particularly difficult of late and a great frustration to us all!
