My auntie arrived in this home a couple of weeks ago from hospital, the staff are very attentive to her needs and she seems to be settling in well. They provide entertainment, some she maybe joins in, others she just listens in on what's going on, she is partially sighted. I visit my friends in homes
and this is a good one.

My mother came into Kent House in November 2024. I have been most impressed with the care and dignity that she is receiving and although now bed bound, she is relaxed, clean and comfortable. The staff have helped her through the stressful change of life circumstance into full time care with the utmost
sympathy & empathy which was also given to me & the rest of the family, giving us peace of mind.

Thank you for taking the time to write and publish this very positive review of your experience with our Care Team and Care Home at Kent House in Okehampton, Devon. It's lovely to read that the care team are always friendly and helpful. I, of course, do not know to which resident you refer but, whilst it is of course their choice how to spend their time, it's a shame they do not take part in the activities - these don't have to be group activities but can also be one to one. Please do have a chat with the care home manager if this is of concern and we can look at different approaches to perhaps encourage this person to take part in some way. Thank you again for this feedback. Kindest regards.

My mum was not happy to be going in a nursing home after hospital.
She says the staff are lovely, they are very helpful to residents and family. She loves the food and eating very well.
There is always a staff member to talk to and they are helpful to the family as well as my mother.

Reply from Nathan Stone, Director. at Woodhayes

Thank you for taking the time to leave this really positive review of your experience, and more importantly that of your mum, with our Care and Nursing Team at our Woodhayes Care and Nursing Home in Exeter. I think we can all empathise greatly with how you mum was feeling when it became clear that she would have to go to a nursing home following her stay in hospital. She probably just wanted to get home and 'back to normal' - we see this a lot (of course). But we also see a lot exactly your mums experience having arrived at the nursing home - lovely staff, well cared for, food, daily chores all taken care of etc. And, most importantly, always somebody on hand to help or just have a chat with. It's lovely to read that your mum appears to have settled in well and that you and your family are always made welcome as well:) Kindest regards.

I continue to be deeply impressed by this Care Home. The new Manager, has been hugely helpful in addressing any needs my mother has. The rest of the team are brilliant and compassionate and deliver excellent quality care. My mother's quality of life has improved so much since she moved in to the Manor.
We appreciate particularly how personalised the care is and how residents are celebrated as 'whole people' with all their different life experiences. Birthdays at the Manor are truly a celebration. Thank you all for all you do.

Bluebell House Care Home

from Janice W (Daughter of Resident) published on 19 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mum recently arrived at Bluebell House in January from hospital.
She has settled remarkably well after living in her own home before her admission to hospital.
The staff are wonderful very attentive to Mum's needs. Since arriving, they have encouraged Mum to eat and drink unaided which is a joy
to see. She has made lots of friends since arriving and is enjoying the company. She has gone from unrecognising her family on admission to now knowing us all and being able to have conversations with us.
They have made us all extremely welcome when visiting and even given great grandchildren ice cream on a recent visit.
Nothing is too much trouble. Nothing but love and care given to Mum.

I feel that Dove Tree House are proactive in their work with my dad. When I ring in I always feel listened to. If there is something that can't be sorted in one phone call, I have always had a recall. The home is clean and in a good state of repairs. There are activities each week which are varied to
try and suit all the residents needs. Dad enjoys his food and says its good. Dad loved his sport and it would be nice if he could have sports channels on his TV in his room. Would be nice if he could have some trips out in the minibus Dove Tree has use of. This would be good for mental health.

Thank you for taking the time to write and publish this really positive and detailed review of your experience, and most importantly that of your dad, with our Care Team and Care Home at Dove Tree House in Exeter. With regards the the sport on TV - we have found that a number of residents now have their own sports subscription services. The televisions in our rooms are all smart so can access the homes WiFi so are able to log in to these services. It's lovely to read that your dad enjoys the food and says it is good. Yes, with the better weather we are looking forward to seeing the mini bus used more often this summer - we have also recently had success in finding a driver - this has been particularly difficult of late and a great frustration to us all!
