I have found the Kimbrose Club to be a wonderful facility for my husband. The staff are cheerful, friendly, very caring and nothing is too much trouble. He attends at least two days per week and is kept fully occupied with suitable games, puzzles, art work and conversation. A freshly cooked two course
lunch is provided together with frequent drinks and snacks. I am happy to leave my husband in such good hands knowing that he will be well cared for.

My parents first came to Guild House Residential Home for respite, following hospital stays. That had been having home care visits, but we're falling and not managing. The staff at the home made them feel safe and secure. They decided to stay. They particularly enjoy all the activities and outside entertainers
that come in. My dad loves the home made food. All the staff treat my parents with dignity and respect. It is a great weight off my mind knowing that they are so well looked after. Thank you.

Magdalen House Residential Home is a lovely residential home with very caring staff. My parents had a double room and were very well cared for. Sadly Magdalen House decided to de-register as a nursing home and my parents had to leave. However we will always be grateful for the eight weeks or so, that
my parents were able to enjoy going out on trips and being well cared for. The nurse that cared for my father was second to none and brought him back to health long enough to settle my mother into her new nursing home (St Faiths) which is exceptional.

My mum has been attending Kimbrose for years since she had been diagnosed with dementia. The staff are simply brilliant. So happy, supportive, caring and friendly. Kimbrose provide dementia-friendly activities that really benefit their users. I could not think of a better daycare centre for her to attend.
Thank you all.

Guild House Residential Home

I could not be happier with the care and attention my beloved wife, who has advanced dementia, receives as a resident at Guild House in Gloucester.
All the staff, from the senior management team down to those charged with the most basic tasks, are superbly trained in dealing with those in their care
and they do so with dignity and good humour.
On my daily visits, I have been most impressed over the past months that the staff always refer to the residents personally by their first names and are prepared to take time to, listen to, respond to and make eye contact with those in their care.
My wife seems at home at Guild House now, which is a comfort to me beyond measure. She is being looked after there far better than I could possibly hope to do so by myself at home, and I thoroughly recommend this care home to you.

I was very happy with the care that my mother received during her stay at Guild House. In particular, the last days of her life were dealt with kindness and sympathy and the support we received was exemplary.

We have been using the Kimbrose Club for a couple of years, during which time my wife's needs have become more complex as her mental and physical state has declined. The Kimbrose Club has taken this in its stride. I can't recommend the Club too highly. Its staff are excellent and very friendly and they
clearly have good relationships with their clients. As a full-time carer, the Kimbrose Club has been a lifesaver. I am pleased to be able to write them a review.

Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to review us. We know how important it is for full-time carers to have time to themselves, and we pride ourselves on building good relationships and growing with all our club members as their needs change. My Mum moved into Magdalen House in January this year. She has received the most excellent care. The staff are kind, patient and very respectful. There is an activity every day if the residents wish to join in. My mum is treated like a person in her own right, and not just a resident. I was so worried
about my Mum going into a care home but she is so happy there and myself and my family are so happy we found an amazing home for my 96-year-old Mum, to live the rest of her life, with so much happiness and treated with dignity.

Magdalen House Residential Home

I recently had a call from Magdalen House regarding my mum; she has Dementia and had a fall and the ambulance had been called. Thankfully all was well.
I know that the home and staff have provided great service/care to my mum every day (for the last 10 years), but had never experienced the hands-on
effect of this care. On this occasion, Mum had an incident, was unwell and was on the floor in her room; she is immobile and has to be hoisted everywhere - on this occasion, it was back into bed. The care, dignity, language, prompting and treatment the staff gave and showed Mum were amazing. I always say that Magdalen House is Mum's home and the staff are her 'family' - but on this occasion, I saw at first sight what this means to Mum (and me) - and - for that I am eternally grateful.
I would recommend Magdalen House as an excellent place for someone you care about who needs support to live - it has excellent staff and a wonderful atmosphere and relatives are made welcome whenever they visit.

The care my husband had at Magdalene was very good. He was welcomed and soon settled and became one of the 'Magdalene' family. He was shown kindness, dedication and respect at all times.
The care was excellent with attention to his own likes and dislikes.
As a family, we were treated with respect
and compassion always ensuring we were comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. I was welcomed to have meals with my husband and encouraged to join in activities.
All the staff were wonderful and deserved praise for their dedication.
Thanks so much to you all.

As a senior nurse visiting a care facility, I automatically cast an eye around. When my father needed extra care, I could not be happier with Magdalen House. I was so impressed with the care and service I and my family received. The care team are friendly and helpful, going above and beyond, ensuring
all my father's care needs are met. The staff's positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile for not just my dad but other clients and extended family. The staff act as a family and demonstrate excellent, professional, knowledgable, confident care. The whole property is clean and maintained to a high standard. I highly recommend.

It's hard to let your loved one go into care. We met when we were 16 years old, 72 years together. Magdalen House was a gift, astounding. The staff helped us settle my husband. He settled quickly due to the care delivered. They all became part of the extended family, inviting me to events and activities
put on by the staff. Lovely food, which I was invited to attend meal times. All staff are approachable, friendly and professional. I highly recommend this facility, the cleanliness, culinary excellence, skill and most importantly care and understanding with great communication.

My husband came to need more care than we were able to provide at home, I found it very difficult to hand him over to someone else to do the caring. He and I would both have preferred for him to have stayed at home, but we both came to realise this wasn't possible but discovered that Magdalen House
was the perfect answer to our needs. My husband was made very welcome as a resident and I was always welcome as a visitor - any time of day. The staff were wonderful, the care first-class, food excellent, well prepared in Magdalen's own kitchen and activities varied and pleasing. My husband soon became friends with the staff and other residents.
Sadly he quietly passed away with his wonderful carers by his side, a great comfort knowing he was not alone - we were a few minutes late arriving to see him - my lasting memory is how peaceful he looked and his carers were still with him when we arrived.
I will always be grateful for the love and the care shown to my husband during his time at Magdalen House.

At the end of November 2023, my Father went to live in Guild House, his welcome was warm and friendly and he soon settled into a new routine, particularly enjoying the lovely meals. At the beginning of this year, he became unwell and needed more help, this was provided with care and kindness. his last
few weeks were difficult for him and the family as he grew weaker, everything that could be done to make him more comfortable was done, this was a great comfort to the family.

Following a bad fall and a stay in hospital my Mum went to Magdalen House for respite care. From the very start everyone has been kind and supportive to both Mum and myself and she has now become a permanent resident.
Mum’s ensuite room is beautifully furnished and the whole home is spotlessly clean,
warm and welcoming. There is a very friendly atmosphere with lots of fun and laughter. Every single member of the team is attentive and considerate and there is always someone on hand if Mum ever needs a little extra comfort and reassurance. They have taken time to get to know Mum’s preferences and she is encouraged to participate in the many and varied activities.
As a visitor I am always made to feel at home and any concerns are dealt with sympathetically. Now that Mum can no longer care for herself, I can relax in the knowledge that she is safe and being looked after with kindness and compassion. In Mum’s own words, “I really couldn’t be in a better place”.
