Our mum moved to Exmouth House at age 99, when she was too frail to continue living in her own home even with support. She was very anxious on arrival but was quickly helped to settle. She spent the last 3 years of her life relaxed and happy, confident in the care she received and thriving on the personal
attention, stimulating activities and warmth of relationships. Mum really appreciated the dignity and respect with which she was treated as she became increasingly dependent on others for basic necessities. As a family we found all staff friendly, welcoming and prepared to go the extra mile to give mum the best quality of life possible. All staff, whatever their roles, were excellent and the atmosphere of the home was remarkable.

I am a relative of someone who was in Exmouth House July - October 2024. The care and compassion for the residents was immediately apparent and the staff were always very attentive to residents needs. The staff were extremely kind and supportive to me and their communication was always excellent. I
felt my relative was safe and well cared for. My relative was discharged back home but now goes to the Day Centre service that this home offers. We are all very happy and cannot thank the staff enough for their kindness and care.

My dad's end of life care was exceptional. All staff were kind, gentle, respectful, not only to dad but to me and my family. I'm only sorry dad was with them for a short time. Their knowledge and training in full blown dementia is exemplary and they should be rewarded for their activity schedule. Amazing
for what remaining cognition the residents enjoyed. If you wanted any further endorsement, I would do it in an instance. Whilst not the cheapest care home, money does actually become irrelevant when you know your loved one is in expertly caring hands. Well done, I will miss you.

My mother-in-law spent 4 weeks at Exmouth House following a fall in her flat which resulted in a hospital admission. Our family were very impressed with the care she received whilst at Exmouth House. All the staff we encountered were friendly and professional which really helped my mother-in-law to
settle in. They really try hard to engage the residents and provide a wide range of activities for them to enjoy. The only reason for the short stay was the fact we were moved out of the area.

My wife has been at Ernstell House Nursing Home for a month now. It takes time for dementia patients to settle into a new place, but the staff have really done a great job to help her. They give her a lot of love, which in her other home was neglected so much. This gives me less pressure and no worries.
All the nurses are so kind to my wife, making sure that she is comfortable all the time.

Mum gets excellent care.
The staff are always willing to help, nothing is ever difficult.

In general, very good. However, sometimes there is no one around to speak to in the unit or there may be dirty wipes left in the room.
Reception is very courteous and friendly, but again, sometimes not at the desk.

All of the staff have been so helpful to my brother-in-law. he can be difficult and stubborn but they handle him with fortitude and great humour. He grew to be very fond of everyone who tended to his needs. So well done to all involved.

A lovely party today and the residents choir were fantastic. Everyone looked Christmassy in their jumpers, cosy and comfy - I was Alfie McFluff the elf - very funny. I loved the atmosphere, buzzing and festive. The Christmas cake was delicious too. Thank you to all the staff- once again you have all

My mum became a resident at Exmouth House back in May this year. I was dreading leaving her somewhere that I didn't really know. However, all my fears were short-lived as the care she receives is absolutely amazing. All the staff are so lovely and nothing is too much trouble. What I like is you can
just turn up to visit, no appointment time is required. My mum is happy at Exmouth House, which is a huge relief. My mum gets the care she needs, which is something I can no longer do. They do so many fun activities and go on trips out. I would highly recommend Exmouth House if you have a loved one with dementia, it's a lovely home.

My mother who suffers from vascular dementia plus Alzheimer's is very happy in Exmouth House. She constantly praises the staff and says how happy she is. I found the staff to be very welcoming and caring. They keep me informed of any health issues and also of any treatment given. I am also involved
with any problems or difficulties arising in her daily life. It is really reassuring to be involved in my mother's care whilst knowing her care is first class. I appreciate all the care and support from all of the staff at Exmouth House.

My mum came in for respite for 2 weeks and really enjoyed herself and joined in all the activities, the staff and management are excellent and very supportive whilst in the home and even when Mum is at home, they well deserve to have an outstanding home.

The home is well-laid out in a lovely setting, garden's lovely to sit in weather- permitting. First port on entering is the reception. Friendly staff and the care of staff giving to. Patients treated with dignity. The rooms are well thought out and a good size, safety and security is very good. Cleanliness
is very good, food good. Activities are very good for residents. Overall the home is well thought-out.

Surprisingly less unsettling than I imagined. The home was very clean, tidy and bright. Plenty of light and air. My friend's room was decent, although lack of fresh air was very noticeable. Her carers were outstanding. I understand the home company only pays the carers minimum wage and we are not happy
with this; living wage with bonuses for performance should be introduced. We definitely did not like the crowded dining room at meal times, it was as if everyone had to be herded in at once!

Dad is very happy at Ernstell House. He is settled and the staff are so attentive to all the residents. The staff are all so pleasant to us as well and they make us feel so welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they keep us well informed about Dad's wellbeing. There is also so much for the
residents to enjoy, especially in the activities, which the staff lay on for the residents and also for the families to enjoy as well, which my mum and I have been too. Dad loves the music, it was so nice to see him really enjoying himself and for us to take part in.
