Not updated with staff changes and turnover seems to have been high in last few months, also admin and management change which I was unaware off.
General care is good, dad seems comfortable, sometimes small things seem to be missed but that maybe down to dad being awkward on occasions.

My father was admitted into the care of Chapel House Care & Nursing Home on the 1st August 2024. From the first day, the atmosphere was warm and homely which gave you a feeling of safety. My father was given 24/7 care by people who genuinely loved what they were doing. Nothing was too much trouble and
dad never lacked for company. It put the family at ease to know that he was being so well cared for. You couldn't single any one person out as they all worked as a team. The home was cleaned everyday, the laundry usually came back within the day and the variety and quality of meals were first rate. The medical team were always around if you needed to discuss anything or were concerned. Everyone in the home, including the office team worked together to make dads stay as enjoyable as could be expected. Sadly, dad passed away three weeks ago and the care and dignity shown to him can never be repaid by the family. The team were totally respectful and caring to him and to his family. I cannot praise them enough.

My husband is in your care home. Usually, we are very pleased with the care provided but recently it has not been that way. I quite often put him on the toilet as it can take up to half an hour before anyone comes to his call button. The meals are satisfying but often does not look very nice as the
food is all the same colour and pushed upon each other and does not smell very nice. I cut food up for him when I am there, as no one offers to cut it up. He also does not get showered as often as I feel he should be, once a week for him is not really acceptable. It could be they are taking on new staff and training them. It is only this past few months it has been like this, but there is three staff that are excellent in their work. It is very clean and the laundry is very well
done.

Everyone I had contact with when my father was at Chapel Care and Nursing Home were excellent. My father was not an easy patient to look after but all the staff handled him very well and with care and understanding right till the end.
If you are looking for a care home, then I highly recommend you
look here.

Woodstock Nursing Home

My young husband received palliative, end-of-life care at the home and passed away at the setting. The care that he received was brilliant. The home not only looked after him but they also supported our family, especially in the last few days. The home advocated for him, ensuring he received the best
care possible to keep him comfortable and pain-free by working with the community palliative team, regularly changing medication to align to his clinical need. He had a very peaceful passing despite very complex clinical needs. All of the staff genuinely care about the residents and their families. They are compassionate and empathetic. I cannot rate this home highly enough for palliative care. The home is clean with good infection prevention control measures in place. The staff are diligent and have good awareness of IPC. The home are also accommodating to the families' requests as much as possible, making the setting appear less clinical and more like a family home.

As my husband has only been in the care home for just over 3 weeks, my review is I am very pleased with the attention my husband is getting. I hope in the future they will try and get my husband out of the bed into a chair and maybe meet other residents. Can't respond to activities as my husband is
bedridden.

I am so relieved to see my dad getting the care he so desperately needs. The staff, the premises and the whole experience of visiting him on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday have been exceptional. Today, Tuesday was extra special as there was music which my dad and I loved. Thank you from the bottom of
my heart.

Thank you for your lovely comments, I will pass them on to our team and I'm sure they will feel appreciated. Your dad has settled in well and has got to know a few others in the home. He enjoys banter with the staff team as well as sitting in the TV lounge for a chat with some of our other gentlemen in the home. Dad also loves to watch the TV. It has been nice to see Dad has improved in the short time he has been with us. Thank you again for your review and comments.

Woodstock is wonderfully run and residents are happy and well caredl for. We could not have wished for anything more for Mum who was sympathetically and professionally cared for in this positive, happy environment. The manager and her team offer everything you could want for your loved one and we would
not hesitate to recommend Woodstock as a safe and caring home

This was a very hard and personal transition for both my husband and I. The worry and anxiety were quickly diluted by the warm and caring nature of the manager, reception greeting and all the caring staff. My husband has settled well. The meals are so appetising, and nothing is too much trouble. After
each visit, I leave knowing he is safe and happy.

We, as a family, were very happy with Mum's excellent care at Chapple House Care Centre. From the moment Mum arrived until the day she left, she was treated with every respect of the best care. The staff were kind, thoughtful, caring and made sure Mym was happy and safe. We were kept informed at every
stage of assessment and helped through things we didn't understand. We are very grateful to all the staff for making Mum's stay a good and caring experience. Many thanks.

I am so grateful to the Manager of Woodstock and her competent and caring team of staff, for the excellent and efficient care they gave to my mother who was a resident during her few last weeks of life. The friendliness and respect shown towards mum by every member of the staff, both nursing and domestic,
who had contact with her, was superb, and the warm and caring attitudes of the staff were always extended to me and my family whenever we visited. I would thoroughly recommend Woodstock Nursing Home to all potential residents and their families.

We very much enjoyed caring for your mum during her last weeks of life, mum was a joy to care for, especially under these sad circumstances. You all were going through a very emotional time and it is nice to know that we made mum's last weeks of life as comfortable as possible.
Woodstock Nursing Home would like to thank you and your family for the very kind words written about the team at Woodstock Nursing Home. I will make sure this review is passed on to them. They will appreciate the praise and feedback you gave.

We are very pleased with the care that our mum is receiving. The staff treat the residents with care and dignity. They listen to us and ask us to take in things that she needs. With their help, she is not "bed-bound" but sits out in the lounge and is taking a few assisted steps, knowing the staff give
her the opportunities to join in appropriate recreational activities downstairs. Mum is happy and well cared for, and we are happy.

Staff are always helpful and reassure Dad when he is upset or confused.
Well done Woodstock!

I must say the time my husband was in the nursing home he was very settled and enjoyed the afternoon visits by various organisations. The manager and staff where wonderful and caring. I just wish it had been nearer to where we live, I would never have moved him. He had a wonderful ensuite and was very
happy. One staff member could get him to really laugh. Thank you all.

Woodstock Nursing Home

from Rose E (Sister of Resident) published on 21 July 2023
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My first impression, as I walked in the nursing home on 28th May 2023, was the warm and friendly greeting I received from the nurse who opened the door! I told her who I was and that I came from Canada to visit my sister. I was taken to a small lounge area where we could have a one-on-one interaction.
I visited my sister for three weeks, four hours a day, so I got to know the routines. We spent quality time outside in the garden, watching the residents and staff plant flowers. The ones who were able to walk were outside in the beautiful weather.
But the concern I have regarding safety/security is when she is in that small bed at night and there is no railing in case she becomes restless during the night and falls.

Reply from Trudy Glassonbury, Registered Manager at Woodstock Nursing Home

I would like to thank you for your comments and these will be passed on to our team who will very much appreciate your views and positive feedback on some of the activities we undertake in the home. Some of our residents sleep on a low bed at night, and/or in the day, for their safety. This is due to the increased risk of serious injury if the person tries to get up from bed. A low bed with a crash mat is the least restrictive way to care for them. All our residents are assessed on an individual basis and equipment is put in place as required.
