I would like to say how surprised and happy I was to come to the spinney care home as I didn't know anything about it. The staff are wonderful, helpful and lovely. I was very reluctant when I come from hospital to the Spinney and I ]was very well looked after like at Spinney and the service was clean
and food great. Staff was very helpful with my recovery and they make me happy at Spinney. My bedroom was lovely and clean. I can't fault the service.

Reply from Sarah Murphy, Home Manager at The Spinney Care Home

Thank you so much for your kind words. We're delighted to hear how happy you were with your stay at The Spinney. It means a lot to the team to know their care and support made such a positive difference to your recovery. Wishing you all the very best!

My mum came to Sebright in 2022 until she passed away in January 2025.
As a family, we have been so happy with everything in Sebright from the warm welcome to the cleanliness of the home, the food and activities but most importantly the professionalism and care that our mum received from everyone who
had a part to play in caring for her. We feel very lucky that Mum stayed in such an exceptional home towards the end of her life and we noticed how well she looked too.
We can't thank enough everyone who works here and am extremely grateful for the wonderful care she received. Thank you.

Review of

Wheatsheaf Court Nursing Home

from Sue O (Daughter of Resident) published on 20 August 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My Dad was admitted to Wheatsheaf Court in April 2024, after a prolonged stay in hospital. The family was concerned about how he might respond to permanent care in a nursing home, as he could be a difficult patient at times. We needn't have worried. We had a lengthy discussion with managers about his
current needs as well as his past likes, dislikes and hobbies and from day one he was treated with dignity and respect by all the staff. Everyone at Wheatsheaf Court understands the heartbreak of dementia and they are always willing to take the time to provide reassurance and care to the families as well as to the residents (this is so important, as families can find the stages of dementia as well as the care system itself bewildering at times). My Dad is comfortable and very well looked after and you couldn't wish for a cleaner, brighter, happier and more welcoming environment for someone who needs such a high level of care. Thank you to all.

Reply from Ravi Patel, CEO at Wheatsheaf Court Nursing Home

Our team is dedicated to providing the highest level of care and compassion to all our residents and it's heartwarming to know that this has been evident in your father's experience. Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience. We are truly grateful for your kind words.

My husband moved to Sebright from hospital in 2022, when his vascular dementia got the better of us all and we could no longer cope at home. The care he received there was second to none and all the staff treated him with compassion, calmness and care, looking after his every need at all times. They
always informed us of any change, however small, and kept him happy and settled throughout his time there. When he passed away in May 2024, they could not have been kinder. While dementia is a very cruel condition, all the staff at Sebright made my husband's last two years as good as they could possibly be. Thank you Sebright.

Wheatsheaf Court Nursing Home

from Christie W (Daughter of Resident) published on 16 May 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My father became part of the Wheatsheaf family in April 2024, from the moment my father arrived the staff and management went above and beyond to help my dad, myself and my family. The staff provided my dad with excellent care, kindness and compassion. They got him engaged in activities, they took time
to find his likes and dislikes and enabled him to participate in the things he liked most (darts and singing), they encouraged his independence. Since our father arrived at the Wheatsheaf, it was the happiest we had seen our father in a long time. I can’t begin to thank the staff for their care and dedication to my father. As a family, we will forever be grateful to them. I would highly recommend the Wheatsheaf for any loved one when that difficult decision comes, seeing my father smile will stay with me forever.

Reply from Ravi Patel, CEO at Wheatsheaf Court Nursing Home

Thank you so much for this incredibly kind and heartwarming review about your father's experience at Wheatsheaf. We are overjoyed to learn that from the moment he arrived in April 2024, our staff made him feel so welcome and went above and beyond to understand his needs, preferences, and what makes him truly happy. It brings us great fulfilment to hear that your father became engaged in activities, he loves like darts and singing and that the team took the time to discover those interests and facilitate his independence. Seeing our residents' smiles and knowing we are enriching their lives is what makes our work so rewarding. Your words about this being the happiest you'd seen your father in a long time are perhaps the highest praise we could receive. We feel privileged to have played a role in that joy during such a significant time.

Outstanding care team who anticipate patients' needs brilliantly. My husband is well looked after with an honest sincerity of care for his comfort and well-being and especially personal care and welfare.
Brought a former CQC inspector yesterday who is my husband's cousin and she was so relieved that
Sebright is as great a home as I had told her but naturally wanted to see for herself; she was thrilled.
Many thanks to the many staff very well led by a particular member of staff who provide the best in the tragic circumstances.
God Bless you all.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a glowing review about the care your husband is receiving at Sebright House. We are delighted to hear that you feel the care team is anticipating his needs so well and providing him with outstanding personal care and attention to his comfort and well-being. It's wonderful that your husband's cousin, who used to be a CQC inspector, was able to visit and see firsthand the high quality of care we provide. Her professional seal of approval after her visit must have been very reassuring for you. We're thrilled she came away with such a positive impression. Our staff works tirelessly to create a supportive, compassionate environment for all our residents during what can be very difficult circumstances. Wheatsheaf Court Nursing Home

from Alison P (Daughter of Resident) published on 18 April 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

The home provided exceptional and thoughtful care to my mother. The staff were always kind, patient, and sensitive. The home feels more like a family environment compared to other care facilities that are more like hospitals or hotels in the atmosphere, and this is a real plus. The manager went out
of his way to understand my mother’s needs in terms of her food and care preferences and was always available for a chat. All the staff took time to talk and listen to my mother and really got to know her, she was genuinely touched by the kindness shown by her carers, as I was too. The nursing staff were excellent in monitoring her diabetes and pain levels – the team are lovely and credit to all of them for providing such a caring environment.

We strive to provide a warm, personalized experience for all our residents, treating them like family. Wheatsheaf Court Nursing Home

from C C (Daughter of Resident) published on 12 April 2024

My mother is a resident at Wheatsheaf Court and since her admission earlier this year has received excellent care from caring and compassionate staff who have responded to Mum's changing care and health needs in a professional and dignified way. Communication with all staff is excellent and we always
feel welcome when visiting Mum. Staff make time to discuss any issues relating to Mum's care. Mum is comfortable and well cared for in every way for which we are grateful. As a family, we were confident that Mum would receive the best possible care as our late father was also a resident for almost 12 months before his peaceful passing in May 2023. His last few months were happy and he was able to engage in many activities before his health declined. His final days were peaceful and he received dignified care from wonderful staff.
I would highly recommend Wheatsheaf Court to anyone who is considering care for a relative. It is a happy caring home with a family atmosphere.

My mother has been a resident of the Sebright house since November last year.
I can not begin to express my feelings towards the care and support the staff are giving to my mum. She is a 91-year-old dementia patient who could not do anything when she arrived at the home. Thanks to the care of nurses,
carers and everyone around her, she is very happy and well. She is always clean and cared for. The centre is full of kind and caring staff. Always welcoming and warm - nothing is too much for them. It’s always clean and friendly. They became my extended family, and I am very thankful. The manager and all the staff are angels sent from up above.
Thank you.

Dad wasn't all that happy about having to go into care but that all changed with these wonderful people. His carer really bonded with my dad (Both being of Yorkshire Origin) and for the remaining months of his life he was happy.

Reply from Ravi Patel, CEO at The Hunters Lodge Care Centre

Thank you for your wonderful review. It is so lovely to hear how your dad, although reluctant to enter into care found the experience really positive, and formed a bond with his carer and friend, who originated, just like him from Yorkshire. It must also offer you some comfort knowing he was happy and well cared for.

Reviews like yours offer reassurance to others needing to enter care, to feel confident that all will be well. Thank you again!

Had to move my father in February after two years in another home, did not have a lot of choices and was extremely concerned about both the move and the home. Although only there two months, the improvement in Dad was amazing; the manager and her staff are the best in the business, they got Dad up,
dressed, shaved and sitting in the lounge every day, kept me informed of everything happening and Dad looked ten years younger and settled well. I cannot praise the staff highly enough and am so very grateful for their care and kindness during his final months - just wish I'd moved him much earlier.
My family's thanks and appreciation are boundless.

My mom has been a resident at The Hunters Lodge Care Centre since July 2022. It was not an easy decision to make, putting a loved one into care. However, from the minute we walked through the door, I knew I had made the right decision. The home is situated in beautiful surroundings, the facilities are
brilliant, it's clean and the staff are wonderful. My mom is extremely well cared for and the staff have taken the time to understand her complex needs, ensuring she receives the best possible care. After years of caring for her at home, I am actually able to take a step back, knowing she is being looked after so well. Thank you everyone at The Hunters Lodge Care Centre for your ongoing support and hard work.

My friend went into Sebright after taking him out of Bromson Hill care home. The staff and management were amazing; they turned my friend around, getting him out of bed and socialising with other residents eating and drinking again and generally taking great care of him.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of Sebright House. I am so pleased that you saw an improvement in your friend's well-being. At Sebright House, they try hard to maintain a service user's social contact as they recognise what an important role this plays in overall health and well-being. It is nice to see that your friend enjoyed the simple yet so important pleasure of eating and drinking well.
I will ensure that the manager and staff are aware that you took the time to give them praise and a positive review, as reviews such as yours give a boost to staff working hard to care for our service users.

My aunt broke her hip and after a two-week hospital stay, needed care home convalescence, which was provided by Coventry City Council at The Spinney Care Home. The first impressions were fantastic and have remained so throughout her six-week stay. Showing and giving professionalism, caring, kind and
clean. Should the need arise, I would definitely apply for future accommodation for my aunt, even if we have to pay. Ten out of ten.

I got lost on my way to the care centre on my first visit to my Mum on Kitwood. I was walking from the train station. It was wet and miserable and I was running out of time. I called the unit for directions and everyone was so kind to me - in the end, a staff member came to pick me up. When I got to
see my Mum, I was so upset - again I could feel the warmth from everyone. It's such a difficult time. My mum has been in several places recently, but I have never felt so welcome, even though my visit was short. If they are as kind to her as they were to me then I know they are good, caring and compassionate - and that's all that really matters now.

My husband, who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, was sent to Seabright straight from the hospital for assessment. At the time, I had been very seriously ill, undergoing major surgery, but it was always my intention to place my husband in a home in my village once I had recovered. However, after
seeing the amazing care, consideration and dedication given by the lovely staff at Seabright, the general cleanliness and attention given to the personal care of the residents, I decided to leave my husband in their care.
Without exception, all the staff from top to bottom, including the nurses, gardener, cook, cleaners and activities coordinator, treat the residents with compassion and respect sometimes in challenging situations. The manager keeps me informed on every aspect of my husband's needs and condition and is always welcoming to the resident's visitors.

My father moved to Sebright during the summer from a residential home.
The standard of care goes above and beyond what I'd previously experienced.
Dad was very unsettled when he first moved, and I was very concerned as it took months to settle at the previous home. After a week he seemed less agitated.
The
manager and staff know how to deal with advanced Alzheimer's. They are always smiling, so caring, and very calm, no matter what challenges are thrown at them. The team have worked very hard with some of Dad's challenging behaviour.
Dad arrived at the home with one-to-one in place, and within two months, it was no longer required during the day. This is a testament to the manager and her team.
The manager has employed a fantastic competent team. I am regularly updated about medication and any concerns they may have.
Dad is settled and is in the best place for this stage in his life.
