Thank you does not cover the gratitude we feel towards the staff. From day one they have been outstanding in the care, friendly and professional manner they conduct their selves. Nothing was too much trouble and they all went above and beyond to ensure the holistic care was delivered respectfully. The
staff were able to apply the care required at a level and pace that was needed by the resident for that particular day. They constantly assessed requirements and constantly kept us updated. They offered different skills and talents to make residents and visitors feel included, safe and entertained. Especially noticed by people whose relatives were being bed nursed. Staff constantly checked on relatives too. Quality of food was amazing. Every single member of staff had a special quality that enabled us to get through such a difficult time. We could become relatives again knowing our relative was getting quality care, which enabled us to feel secure we had made the right choice.

My step brother has been a resident for 2 years . I was a bit worried at first about him going into a home , but royal park have been amazing with him . He goes out often with Activities coordinators, he's clean , he's always well fed , his room is always clean and tidy and he's so happy . All the
carers are like his family. He's made a lot of friends . The communication is great too. Always letting me no what's happening and if he needs anything etc. Love getting pictures of things he's been doing too. I cannot fault the home or any of the staff x thankyou for everything guys . Much appreciated x

Still ongoing issues at this care home. This care home is absolutely terrible. Please never use this for any of your loved ones. An ongoing battle every single day my child still lying in the bed soaking wet.
Staff lie against you even when you try your hardest to be civil, restrictions on calls they
say you can visit any time yet now doors are locked many a time, having to pass there all hours a night, gates always still open. The manager emailing you all hours after work. If you report them to the government safeguarding they turn on you more. Was told I can't ask questions about my son. Please, from my heart, do not leave your loved ones here. If I had the pages to say all I really would.

My wife was sent to Royal Park after being discharged from the hospital after suffering a severe stroke in July 2024. I cannot praise the staff enough they treated her with the utmost respect and dignity and they were always happy to share a joke with her. Physios and therapists were excellent in the
treatment they gave her and always willing to engage with them even though she sometimes refused to cooperate with them. She enjoyed all the activities especially karaoke singing along in her own way to an English male singer/songwriter's songs. I must mention my wife's birthday, after receiving a phone call on the morning of her birthday for an invite to lunch with her I was met with a private side room decorated with banners and balloons and we enjoyed a great meal together. I will never forget the staff and wish them all the very best in the future.

I had an operation on my back in May 2024. After 6 weeks I was sent to Royal Park for Physiotherapy. Suffering from OCD as well so I was so happy the room was very clean and nice. The staff was so helpful, and kind and had a good laugh as I think they were just being kind laughing at my dad's jokes.
My stay here was nice considering my ordeal with my condition was very tough to deal with mentally and physically staff helped in every aspect. BBQs in summer, karaoke, days out to the shopping centre, and fitness classes were great fun. I am now back home missing everyone. Physiotherapy was exceptional, I was happy with my care, enjoyed the events, they fed me well at lunch.

My aunt for whom I also have LPA was a resident at Delves Ct for over 18 months. At all times she was cared for with respect and dignity by the Manager and her hard-working team. All issues (including a couple which required trips to hospital) were dealt with promptly and I was quickly informed. The
family were always made welcome and were able to speak to staff and management with concerns and questions being addressed quickly. As a family, we were very happy with the care and support given at Delves Ct and we would recommend the care home to other families.

My brother spent a few months at this home having been told he couldn’t return to his previous home. He had a grade 4 surface wound and was in hospital due to sepsis.
When he arrived they made my aunt lay all his belongings out to tell him what he could have in his room! A few pictures!
They blocked
him calling the home and threatened to throw his belongings in a skip if not collected by a certain date. My brother is still in hospital awaiting a new care home. They wouldn’t allow my aunty into the home and bagged all his belongings and brought them out on trolleys.
My brother is a human being, though a difficult one! Manager was not warming at all!

Reply from Gaynor Dingley-Smith, Home Manager at Royal Park

This gentleman arrived, followed by a huge van containing the entire belongings from his flat, including furniture. We explained that as a nursing home we do not have the room to store but we took as much as we could, including at least 10 bags of clothes and shoes, a bed, 2 chests of drawers, a sofa, mirrors, ornaments, CDs, to name a few. He only had 1 bedroom in the home and we simply could not fit everything in. Following a hospital admission, and the bed closing, we requested the items to be removed as we do not have any storage. It took 3 months before the belongings were collected, and we did not refuse entry, we kindly took them outside to the van as there was so much to carry.

My dad was at Royal Park for around 4 months following a severe stroke that took his left side. When he arrived he couldn't get out of bed and do anything for himself. Following 4 months of intense physio and care from the staff, he managed to walk out un aided. He is now back home adjusting to a new
way of life we didn't think would be possible. Cannot thank the staff at Royal Park enough for the help and support they gave my dad.

Reply from Gaynor Dingley-Smith, Home Manager at Royal Park

It was a pleasure looking after him, the staff thought a great deal of him and he worked hard to get his mobility back along with the physio team.

My amazing dad spent the final 6 months of his life at Delves Court. From the minute he moved there the staff have been amazing with him. They helped him adjust to living a less independent life by making him feel so comfortable and never once made him feel he was losing his dignity. The manager was
particularly special to my dad, she always gave her time when he needed to talk and was present for doctors' calls if I wasn't available. They treated him like a family member and we will never forget the love and care he was shown by all the staff. Thank you.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone at the Royal Park for the kindness, compassion and support received in the end-of-life care for a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
Everyone we met gave excellent care and were very caring to us all and it was a great comfort.

Have recently just been discharged from Royal Park after being there for 5 months, I cannot thank all the staff and physios that helped me enough from the time I got there until I left. I went in with an autoimmune disease that had left me unable to use my arms and had stopped me from walking but with
the help from the physios, I walked out there unaided when I was discharged last week. Would definitely give Royal Park 5 stars and recommend them to anyone. Thank you Royal Park for all your patience and help.

My partner suffered a stroke leaving her unable to speak or use her right side.
With the skill and care of all the staff at Royal Park she is making slow but positive progress.
The staff at Royal Park have obvious affection and care for the residents and show it often. They are always welcoming and
obliging and clearly make the best interests of the residents their priority.

Serious concerns re patient care. Staff are obstructive with numerous “policies” put in place for “staff and patient safety”, and staff are unable to use common sense or compassion to work outside these. The home policy is that bedpans arent used, immobile but continent patients are told to soil themselves
in “super absorbent pads”. Pad checks/changes are reportedly 2 hourly, this does not happen. Staff opinion re a dry/wet pad overrides the patients, occasions where left in soaking clothes. “Protected meal times” include not doing personal care, left sitting in their own excrement whilst being told to eat their lunch, I would consider this neglect.
Completely undignified, degrading and upsetting for patients. Unclear why the hospital can use bedpans and her new care home can get her on the toilet on day one despite her left-sided paralysis post-stroke, yet, you as a rehab centre cannot. I look forward to a response and what policy/excuse you will hide behind. Avoid at all costs.

Reply from Allison Pountney, Office Manager at Royal Park

The policies we as a nursing home have to comply with may seem obstructive but we have a duty of care to our staff/residents, as such, policies are written in line with CQC regs. Our Senior Physio assessed this resident and concluded she was unable to bear her own weight enough to safely sit on a toilet. Many homes “overlook” these risks and use illegal lifting/moving techniques, we will not put our staff/residents at risk. Bedpans are provided for those who can use them, not for incontinent patients, and even more so for someone with no sitting balance. We don’t hide behind policies, we comply with them.
This lady was not left in soaking clothes, on numerous occasions, the family buzzed stating she was wet/soiled, when checked the pad was dry/unsoiled, we have documented evidence of this. Mealtimes are protected to enable residents to enjoy their meals without disturbance.
We have 22 residents to care for, and some of them have complex needs requiring more attention.

My mother has been a resident at Greenleigh Care Home for more than 12 months. I have found the home to be clean and comfortable. The lounge, dining room and bedrooms have all been refurbished and are made as homely as possible.
I am very satisfied with the standard of care she is receiving. The staff
seem to genuinely care for the residents in their charge and are very approachable and friendly.
I would recommend this home to anyone faced with having to place a loved one into long-term care.

Being a resident at Delves Court I speak from personal experience. The managers and staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to help you. Your room will be nicely decorated with wooden flooring, and underfloor heating, an ensuite toilet and a TV. The garden is well maintained with neat lawns,
patios, tables and chairs. Apart from having your own private room, there is a communal room on each floor if you want to mix and chat with other residents so if you're looking for a care home, I would look no further than the Delves. It's a 10/10 from me.

We are pursuing a case of neglect and negligence against the care home and Walsall Health Service as the home failed to recognise the demise of our father (he was dying from dementia); they failed to keep the family informed that he had stopped eating and drinking and they sent him to die in a cubicle
at the A&E department in the local hospital.
In their incredulous response to our complaint, they have admitted their negligence and also have stated they are not an acute unit as they advertise on their website they are so I would not leave your relatives here.
I would give them a zero as they do not deserve a one star.

Having experienced the very worst scenario at a step down assessment bed placement and a prolonged hospital stay as a result of poor care, my dad became a resident at Delves Court, initially with one to one nursing care in September.
From the day we looked around the staff have endeavoured not only
to treat Dad with empathy, understanding and genuine care, but they have also supported us as a family with the transition.
I cannot thank the manager, care staff, housekeeping, cooks, not forgetting maintenance and activities girls who took him for a day out last week that I am informed was as enjoyed by staff as much as Dad, he was genuinely happy and settled, he had the best day for too many months.
Real team work goes into providing this level of care, you should be very proud of yourselves, there are many facilities that could learn a lot from the way you do things.
Thank you all.

My ex-partner has been a resident at Delves Court for three weeks now and I am really pleased with the way he has been looked after, the managers and staff are amazing and treat residents with care and they will go above and beyond to do this, they are really friendly and listen to what the residents
need. I would absolutely recommend Delves Court to anyone that needed them for family members or loved ones to be cared for, nothing is any trouble for the staff to do, meals are really good and drinks are not only given to residents but also relatives.

Such a lovely home for my mom and dad. They have received nothing but kindness and support. Both have challenging needs as both are a bit deaf and Dad is nearly blind as well as having Alzheimer's. Any queries or concerns are always dealt with quickly. Always something going on there, painting, a quiz,
bingo, word searches and sometimes an entertainer. They listen to residents as well as relatives. Very happy.

Mom stayed here for a few years, overall it was good and most of the staff were fantastic, work really hard and looked after mom very well. Was only when she passed I had an issue as they lost her wedding ring and her TV which was there the day before she passed. I went there and sent many emails with
no response. I am still waiting for a response. But I will say some of the staff went above and beyond to help mom.
