Ashgrove

We have a very close friend in Ashgrove.
The care home is of the highest standards standards of care and cleanliness, the whole team of staff go that extra mile to ensure all residents are cared for to the highest standards.
It's more like a hotel for the elderly than a care home. Entertainment virtually
every day, great food, etc.
Visiting times are not restricted except for meal times.
The residents have hairdressers, nail pampering etc.
It's simply the best place to know your loved ones are going to be treated with the utmost care and respect you would want for them.

My wife, who was diagnosed with dementia in 2020, became a resident at Rhosyn Melyn after spending some time in the hospital.
I was very cautious after the poor care at the hospital. I was overwhelmed by the outstanding care and dignity that my wife received from the management and staff at Rhosyn
Melyn.
The respect and dignity shown to her and myself on her passing was exemplary.
I recommend this care home to anyone who requires outstanding care for their loved ones.
Thank you to all management and staff at Rhosyn Melyn.

Rhosyn Melyn

My father has been a resident of Rhosyn Melyn since December 2023. Initially he was in the Residential section but then was moved to Nursing in January 2024. I would highly recommend both areas. The staff are compassionate, kind, considerate, professional and the best I have encountered.
Not only
do they care for my father with the utmost respect, but they are also a great support to myself. It hasn't been easy to step away and let someone else care for him, but I have complete trust in them all to give him the support and care he requires.
I have witnessed the extent of care that is given to not only my father, but also other residents. I can say, hand on heart, it is excellent.
The current management are amazing! I was dubious about sending Dad here, bad reviews etc from many years ago, but I have no concerns in any way. This is his forever home. I highly recommend Rhosyn Melyn to anyone who is looking for a Care Home for their loved one.

Having been a resident of Rhosyn Melyn, my dad recently passed away there which the experience compels me to write. The compassion, dignity and respect he was shown during and after he passed away and the same respect and consideration given to us the family was quite humbling. It is warming to know
this level of care still exists from the management and all the staff who mucked in to assist in every way at a very sad time.
It's not the building that makes a good home, it's all the people in it.

Our mum has been here for nearly two years and we've never once had a complaint, the girls are brilliant, so caring and genuinely kind and so helpful we can relax knowing she is having the best care. A special message to her carers who go out of there way to keep us updated, I’d say this home is probably
one of the best you could ever find. Absolutely brilliant, thank you for everything you do for our mum!

Ashleigh Court

I have just come back from visiting my mum and decided to take the time to review Ashleigh Court. My mum is 91in mobile and has special dietary needs due to a stroke. This does not stop her from enjoying life. She is extremely happy living in Ashleigh Court. She calls Ashleigh Court a hotel because
she feels like she is on holiday! She enjoys the activities especially bingo, quizzes and entertainment such as singers and dances. She tells the staff she dances in her mind. In reality, a member of staff holds her hands and they dance together. The whole team are kind, caring and dedicated to their roles. The management is approachable and includes me in decisions about mums care. In difficult times the staff have supported me. Whenever we visit we are welcomed. Ashleigh Court has a happy relaxed atmosphere. It is more than a home it is a family that care. I am so grateful to the staff on so many levels. I would highly recommend.

Mother has been at the care home for approximately 18 months. After a shaky start, mainly due to bad management, I have to say that since the new manager has take over the place is excellently run. Lovely, happy, caring staff. Homely atmosphere. Spotlessly clean unit. Plenty of varied entertainment
and trips for residents to garden centres etc. Staff are knowledgeable and if medical (GP) treatment is required are on the ball and prompt. They also liaise well with relatives. All in all an excellent unit - would highly recommend! Thank you all for all you do!

Ashgrove Care Home is very special. It has welcomed my mother and made her feel safe, nurtured and 'at home'. Moving out of your own home, into a care home and via a prolonged hospital admission is both stressful and emotional for the person involved, as well as their family. Ashgrove goes above and
beyond to ease that change/transition and make their residents comfortable, valued, involved and truly cared for.
Thank you all at Ashgrove, especially the management, for caring so well for my mother.

I moved my mum to this care home after a short spell of respite care elsewhere. My mum had given up and deteriorated rapidly.
Within a week of visiting Ashgrove, the manager completed an assessment of mum, found her a room and moved her over from the other home. The transition was extremely smooth
and straightforward and my mum settled there amazingly in a short space of time.
I cannot find fault with anything at Ashgrove. The staff are amazing and very caring towards my mum.
My mum always looks happy, well kept and alert. She refers to Ashgrove as home and her general health has improved, ie her mobility and confidence.
The staff are extremely patient with my mum whose sleep pattern is very erratic. I feel very welcome to visit whenever I want to, using access pads to gain entry.
The atmosphere is relaxed with plenty of activities available to stimulate my mum.
The staff have transformed her quality of life and I feel at ease that my mum is in the best possible hands.

I would like to express my thanks for the care of my mother for the past 14 years. When she passed they look after the residents as their own. I can't thank them enough.

Broughton Hall

Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mum became a resident at Broughton Hall just before Christmas 2017. Since she has been in Broughton Hall I am amazed at how happy and content she is. Mum suffers from dementia and was slowly going downhill. Since living at Broughton Hall the difference in her is amazing. All of the staff are friendly,
caring and really seem to love their jobs. There is always something going on. Day trips, parties, sing-alongs, singers, BBQs etc. Mum loves the food there and is eating so much better. Always looks clean and happy. I just want to say a big THANKYOU to everybody. The manager runs a pleasant happy home. Well done to you and your staff. I really do appreciate your dedication.

My step-father was resident in Ashgrove after a stroke. He was well cared for until his death 12 years ago. My mother visited every day until the end. She then use Ashgrove as a hotel for many years, daily taking coffee and lunch whilst living, mostly at her home. Occasionally "holidaying" for a week
at a time, then 2 weeks, then 4 weeks. she loved the home, she loved the staff and the atmosphere. Two years ago, out of choice, she moved in permanently. By now it was her home. After Xmas she developed terminal cancer and went downhill rapidly, throughout her suffering, the care, from manager through care staff, canteen staff and even the care and maintenance man was exemplary. All did their best.

The home is very welcoming, clean and bright, including comfortable bedrooms and lounges. Carers are very attentive towards the residents and try to include them in different activities. The choice of food is excellent, even visitors are offered a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit. Beautiful gardens
surround the home.
