Everyone involved in my grandmother's care was absolutely wonderful - she couldn't have been in any better hands. The staff are endlessly patient and put so much time into making her experience (and ours!) enjoyable. I am so grateful for the care and attention they put in, from putting her paintings
up on the wall to getting her favourite yoghurts - you can tell how much they care about the residents just from being there. Eternally thankful for everyone there.

Both my in-laws are now residing at Roxholm Hall on a permanent basis.
The management and staff have gone out of their way to make this huge transition in their lives as positive as possible.
They have had a phone line installed in one of their rooms which has led to increased independence.
The staff
always ring us if there is the slightest issue which is very reassuring.

My Mother moved into Ridgeway a couple of years ago, a confused old lady. She was unable to stay in her own home any more. She had everything she needed at Ridgeway, a clean warm room, personal care, good food, and a cup of tea at whatever time she wanted. She was much happier.
I'd never seen her wear
nail varnish until she moved to Ridgeway. They brought out a talent for painting that we didn't know she had.
Thank you for making her last days comfortable and very peaceful. You were all so kind.

My mother moved into the Ridgeway in May 2023 and lived there until she passed away in February 2025. During her time living in the home we were extremely impressed by the kindness and compassion shown constantly by the staff. In her final few days the care shown by the staff to all the family was truly
wonderful and we will always be grateful for that.
Many thanks to all.

Cathedral Care Centre

from P L (Daughter of Resident) published on 19 February 2025

We had to place my mum in care last June - having experienced a dreadful care home in the past for my father, I was dreading it. However Cathedral Care Centre is not like any care home I've ever come across. Firstly mum's room is beautiful and large with a lovely big window - comfy armchair and TV provided.
The meals are amazing plus all the daily treats that come around. The activities have been carefully selected taking in account each residents hobbies and interests. My mum is crazy about Elvis - so they regularly have an Elvis impersonator come in and put on a show - to see my mum dancing and singing along is so heartwarming. Mum has her hair and nails done regularly- she is always clean and fresh and wearing all her own clothes (that wasn't the case where my dad was). The staff are so warm and friendly and nothing is too much to ask. Living in New Zealand, I get to see lots of posts on social media - my friend regularly visits mum and says she could move in herself!

Can't fault Cathedral Care Centre. My mum's quality of life has improved immeasurably since she moved there. The staff are all wonderful and can't do enough. Having experienced other Lincoln care homes with my dad, Cathedral is leaps and bounds superior.
Thank you to all the amazing staff that help
her have a safe and as normal a life as possible and enable her to retain her dignity. She's always clean, nicely dressed and other than the confusion dementia brings, she hasn't looked as well in years.

Canwick Court Care Centre is homely, it doesn't feel clinical like a hospital, it isn't noisy and bustling, it is a calm environment. When you walk in, in many ways it is like a family home and you are greeted with a smile by all of the staff.
My mother is treated with respect, she is listened to and
the staff try hard to try and work out her needs.
We (the family) feel like we are part of the decision making and there is genuine of interested in her well being.

Overall I have been happy with the care that Mum has received at Ridgeway. The staff have all been friendly and professional, she has enjoyed the food, and her room is freshly decorated and carpeted. However, there have been a number of niggles and ' teething problems', which could probably have been
resolved with better communication between staff members.
I am aware that for much of the six weeks that Mum has been at Ridgeway, they have been undergoing organisational changes, and there is now a new manager in place, who seems very 'on the ball', and I hope that Ridgeway will fulfill its full potential under her management.

Ridgeway House

All staff are pleasant. The carpet in her room is filthy and should have been replaced/cleaned well before now. That is why I have rated very poor under cleanliness. No interaction with management. The alarm in her room does not work or not plugged in. I am only given information about my mum when I
ask. I should be told about all recent events e.g. illnesses, bed sores etc. and any changes in medication. These can be sent by email unless urgent when I can be phoned. When I telephone to ask about Mum the members of staff are always upbeat and tell me how well she is doing - I know she is bedridden, incontinent, nearly deaf, cannot see and communication is virtually non-existent. I just want the facts.
I am only contacted when money is involved. I appreciate that staff are hard to get but I sometimes find the spoken English hard to understand which makes it difficult for me even though they may be doing their best.

My wife went to The Grove for two weeks respite, when we arrived we were greeted and she was made very welcome. There needs to be more information on visiting times as I went one evening and was told quite rudely by one of the senior members that I was ten minutes early, which did not make me feel too
good. The main nursing staff did everything to make my wife and myself very welcome.

When it became apparent that my Aunt needed more care than we could provide, we were faced with a difficult decision. From the moment we first visited Welbourn Manor, I instantly knew that my Aunt would be happy and well cared for. One staff member in particular has gone above and beyond to ensure that
residents and families are treated with dignity and respect. She has shown my Aunt compassion, patience and understanding at all times and keeps in regular contact with us about any progress or concerns. My Aunt, despite her difficulties, remains a fiercely independent individual and this has been respected and promoted by Welbourn Manor. The staff member mentioned previously has provided my Aunt with daily stimulation, engaging her in outings and activities which keep her mentally and physically fit and healthy. This has included trips out, knitting, gardening etc (all of which my Aunt loves and very much looks forward to). I would not hesitate in recommending Welbourn Manor as the level of care is exemplary.

Both of my parents went in there for respite care after hospital visits/stays. The staff were all lovely and very caring and helpful.
Thank you to the manager and deputy manager for all you did for them during their stay for a month. They managed to be put in a room together which was very kind of
the staff. The home was an old hall so it has character.

I want to thank you for all the care and attention you have given my wife over the last two weeks. I have been overwhelmed with the kindness, support and care from everyone on the team at The Grove. It was a huge decision for us to make to go down the route of respite care but you have made the experience
a very good one for both of us. From day one nothing has seemed too much trouble and it has been a very positive experience. During the past two weeks she has settled really well and has improved both physically and mentally. She is much steadier on her feet, eating really well and has appeared much less confused than when she went in. It has also given me the break I needed.

The whole establishment is 100% very good. I recommended my mother to stay here. The staff are superb, management are very good, everything is 100%. However, I would recommend probably two more staff members to relieve pressure on the staff.

The team at the home is so kind, patient, and supportive of my Dad - three years on from my last review the standard of care is still excellent, the food is great and the home is clean and welcoming. They have shown endless patience and kindness with Dad. The team is always very friendly, on hand, and
happy to see relatives when we arrive. The strong ethos of care, kindness, and respect for residents is manifest and prevails throughout the entire organisation. Thank you so much!
