My mother in law stayed at Myford for around 10 months. She enjoyed her time here & was well looked after by kind and caring staff. She loved the entertainment arranged by the management and the activities. She hated being alone and several staff realised this and made time to sit with her. One of
the staff went above and beyond his duties in caring for her, singing and cheering her up when she felt down. He also sat with her when she was on end of life

My mother came to Welland Care Home in a frail condition. The staff made her feel comfortable and happy. She began to take an interest in her surroundings and problems such as lymphedema in her legs greatly improved. Sadly due to her frailty she passed away in January but she passed peacefully in her
sleep being well looked after by nurses and staff. We were well informed when we weren't at her side and we are happy Mum spent her final two months at Welland Care Centre.

It is very stressful to find what you believe to be a good nursing home for the final months of your loved ones life. From the moment we stepped into Elmbank we could feel the warmth and care towards the residents and felt reassured that my mum would be well looked after. The manager sensed my worry
and said "trust me, I promise we will look after your mum" She lived up to that promise.
My mum was looked after and ended up becoming friendly with the staff and felt she had a very close bond with some in particular The staff were knowledgeable, attentive, caring and often went beyond to make sure my mum was as comfortable and as happy as she could be. I feel confident I made a good decision and would have no hesitation in recommending Elmbank to anyone looking for a nursing home for their loved one.

Reply from Susan Erwin, Home Manager at Elmbank Nursing Home

Thank You so much. Your mum and all of you were very special. She was a joy to care for and sadly missed. I have every confidence in our staff and pleased we lived up to our promise.

My Grandma has been a resident at High Lodge since July 2024. Prior to that she was being cared for by my mom and that was becoming increasingly difficult. With her Alzheimers progressing she needed a safe environment where her needs would be met. The care she receives is exceptional and she is settled
and happy. The staff are fantastic with her and welcoming to family members. She enjoys the food, activities and has a lovely room. It is reassuring for us all knowing that she is in safe hands.

I would like to say how pleased I am with the care my mother with Alzheimer's is receiving. Over the last 2 years she has had several respite stays in various care homes and High Lodge has been by far the best for her. She went into their full time care in July this year after 2.5 years of living with
my family. I will be totally honest in that it wasn't my first choice however on reflection it is the first choice for her and her needs. The staff are wonderful creating a caring family environment and nothing is too much trouble for them in ensuring she is happy. The food is lovely and my mother really enjoys it. The activities they organise are enjoyed by all and stimulate the residents without being patronising. Overall I have to give them 5 stars in all departments. She could not be in safer hands.

Reply from Patricia Stevenson, Home Manager at High Lodge Care Home

Thank you so much for your compliment received; we pride ourselves in getting to know all of our residents individually and understanding what can be sometimes complex needs. We aim to approach all care support in a person-centered way, so that the individual is comfortable, and feeling a part of the High Lodge Family. Where they are free to express their needs and wishes without concern.

My husband was admitted after a stay in hospital. He was unable to walk so was in Myford for enablement. The care my lovely husband received was second to none. Two special carers looked after my husband with love, compassion; also brought a smile to his face with their presence. Sadly my husband passed
away but his last few weeks at Myford House were happy. Forever grateful. Thank you.

My mom became a resident at High Lodge early this summer and as a family, we have been really pleased with the care she has received. The staff are friendly and approachable and caring, with many having been there for some years!
They are always open and ready to share with us as a family how Mom
has been. They have been very responsive, and liaise well with healthcare providers when there are health issues. Mom has settled well and enjoys that this is a smaller home environment, so often quieter. All the residents seem happy and content here, which is lovely to see. Thank you!

I visit mum regularly, at least once a week and I am always welcomed by the staff with a big smile and a good chat about all things, not just about mum. I always try to remember the staff names as this is important. If I have any issues when seeing mum, I ask the staff and they are always attentive
and knowledgeable. If I have to ask any further questions when I'm not there, I send an email to the manager, which is always responded to very quickly. I do find mum's room quite soul-destroying and lacking in a little comfort, but we can change that ourselves by bringing in furnishings. However, with mum's dementia progressing she does not recognise many items from home, but she still needs to be comfortable.

The care and attention my mum was given at Willow Tree was brilliant. She had complex needs, suffering from both Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. The staff, especially the trained nurses were so professional in attending to her needs both medically but also in ensuring she was treated with compassion
and respect.
The home was cleaned to a very high standard and the food was cooked by a trained chef and was fantastic.
When mum was in her final days they were great. Lots of advice, we could visit whenever we asked, even in the early hours of the morning. Thank you Willow Tree from the bottom of my heart
You all made a very difficult time very bearable.
