Chyvarhas Residential and Nursing Home

from L L (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 31 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

This was the second time we have used Chyvarhas for respite care. The room is modern and spotlessly clean with all facilities in good working order and a lovely view of the garden. It only lost one mark due to not being ensuite which would have been preferable but understandable given the layout. A
commode was provided to mitigate this. The staff were all polite and courteous. They greeted our family member with genuine respect and warmth which was reassuring. The food smelt lovely and was apparently very nice.

Reply from Kate Yates, Communications and Content Specialist at Chyvarhas Residential and Nursing Home

Thank you for choosing Chyvarhas for a second time. We're thrilled to hear that you found the room spotlessly clean, well-equipped, and enjoyed the garden view. Your kind words about our staff and the warm welcome they provided mean a lot to us. We're also pleased to hear the food left a positive impression. We hope to welcome you again in the future.

Blackwood Residential Care Home

from Chris S (Son of Resident) published on 26 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I have nothing but the highest praise for Blackwood House and it's staff.
My mother, who has dementia, became a resident last summer after 4 years of living at home alone. From day one she felt cared for and settled in right away. I usually see her once a week and she is always happy, she looks immaculate
and her room is pristine. The staff make a real effort to engage with her, a variety of entertainment and day trips are provided and Mum loves the food ( She has even gained a bit of weight!).
If I ever have any concerns the staff always have time for a chat which is reassuring. I always come away from my visits at Blackwood feeling comforted knowing that my Mum could not be in a better place.
Thank you Blackwood staff!

Reply from Kate Yates, Communications and Content Specialist at Blackwood Residential Care Home

Your kind words will mean so much to the home manager and her team, thank you.

My mum has been a resident for a number of years now. She says she likes the staff there. When mum is having a bad day the staff seem very understanding. A GP is called when needed, chiropodist etc. There's a very pleasant atmosphere at the home. Mum enjoys the singing entertainment and having her hair
done. Overall management and staff do a very good job in field of work that isn't easy.

The staff seemed very pleasant, made us a drink and biscuits when we arrived. The lady we visited looked well looked after and seemed to have a good relationship with the staff. The room was very nice, although would have been nice if she had an ensuite shower. Unable to comment on activities, facilities,

Trewartha Residential and Nursing Home

from Isabelle E (Sister of Resident) published on 6 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My sister, who has learning disabilities, and who has been a resident at Trewartha House since 13th July 2023, has been enveloped in such love, care and warmth in every way possible. That has helped her to settle into this wonderful home very well indeed. She is shown every consideration, dignity, inclusion
and she has a purpose being there. All this is even afforded to us, her family, and we are so very grateful for all that is afforded her and us.

Redannick Residential and Nursing Home

from Donna T (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 28 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother-in-law is so happy and well cared for at Redannick Residential and Nursing Home. She has dementia and was struggling at home, so my husband's family made the reluctant decision to look for a suitable care home for her. Now that she is settled, we realise how happy she is, and how well she
looks, and wonder why we were so hesitant! The staff are friendly and caring and it's such a relief to not have to worry about her being on her own any more. There is another lady she has become great friends with, and it's wonderful to see them chatting and laughing together and joining in with the activities.

Review of

St Breock Residential Care Home

from Ruth C (Power of Attorney of Resident) published on 25 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

This is my last review of St Breock Care Home, my dear friend has gone to pick up leaves in another garden. She was with you for nearly 4 years and you made her feel happy and safe immediately, you helped her make it her home and part of an extended family. She laughed a lot, caused havoc occasionally
and towards the end became very ill, but you carried on with excellent care. If you are looking for residential care that is safe and secure for a loved one, look no further, you won't find better. Don't look at the building, it is improving, it's the care that is important. Talk to the whole team, carers, housekeepers, caterers and entertainment, they are all there, working together with one aim, to care. I thank you all for the well-being, comfort and dignity you gave to her and the kindness and support extended to us.

Reply from Kate Yates, Communications and Content Specialist at St Breock Residential Care Home

Thank you for your kind words, our team at St Breock will be so proud to read them. They will be honoured to have been part of your dear friend's journey and to have provided her with a loving and supportive home. Your appreciation will mean so much to our entire team. Wishing you all the best for the future.

Redannick Residential and Nursing Home

from Michaela M (Daughter of Resident) published on 25 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Early days for us but we moved my mother-in-law into Redannick Residential and Nursing Home in Truro this week after great communication from the manager and her team's help, we secured a room for my mother-in-law.
It is always a worry about the person's reaction as she has dementia but three members
of staff all introduced themselves, brought us a cup of tea and showed us to her room. Straight away she smiled and said how nice it was and even a view of the cathedral, it is perfect. They got a cheese sandwich with tomato sauce as requested and a huge bowl of ice cream. My mother-in-law was happily tucking in when we left and any concerns vanished with such a wonderful welcome. I can see this as the start of a warm and kind relationship thank you. 5 star home and staff.

My son has thrived since coming to Trevarna. He is younger than most of the residents and has multiple needs. He is treated with respect and dignity. The staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is very good. My son's room is quiet and airy and allows him to be as independent as reasonably
possible. While nowhere is perfect Trevarna is about as good as you can get.
