My mum has been at Willow Gardens for about 20 months and has mostly received the best care from all the staff. We did have some teething problems in the first six months, but we addressed this as a family and spoke to the manager. Things have settled more, and I feel that I can talk directly to most
of the staff should any problems arise. I also attend the relative's meetings when I can.

Reply from Kate Yates, Communications and Content Specialist at Willow Gardens Residential and Nursing Home

Thank you for your feedback. We're pleased to hear that your mum has received great care and that any initial concerns were addressed successfully. Open communication is very important to us, and we're glad you feel comfortable speaking with our team and attending relatives' meetings. There are some matter which need some attention and consideration e.g. proximity of noisy residents (no judgement, no blame) to those who would be happier in a less noise invading environment. I refer to loud screaing and aggressive shouting emitting from some residents.

Reply from Kate Yates, Communications and Content Specialist at Willow Gardens Residential and Nursing Home

We understand the importance of a peaceful environment and strive to balance the diverse needs of everyone in our care. Very occasionally, a resident may become agitated, but these instances are rare. Our highly experienced team is skilled in using compassionate and effective techniques to support them, ensuring that any disruption is minimal. Please know that we are always reviewing ways to enhance the comfort of our residents, and we will take your comments into careful consideration. If you would like to discuss this further, please dont hesitate to reach out to the home manager, her door is always open.

My father joined Ridgewood Court in October 2024, due to a decline in his dementia. I have been so impressed with the care he has received and the respect and dignified way he has been treated. By far the biggest asset at Ridgewood, are the staff. They are angels without wings! All of them are beyond
excellent in manners and care. There is always one or two that just go that bit extra. One staff member has has been outstanding for dad. The receptionist - always cheery and still mucks in.

Willow Gardens Residential and Nursing Home

from P P (Daughter of Resident) published on 30 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Moving a parent out of their own home and into care is everyone's nightmare but the staff at Willow Gardens have made the journey so much easier. From supporting us, as family, to adjust to a parent's changing health, needs and finding our feet, to giving us all the biggest welcome on moving-in day
(the hug was very much appreciated from the Manager). My father has found giving up his own home and independence very difficult, and accepting help even more so, but the staff soon won him around with smiles, laughter, home-cooked meals and absolute love of their jobs. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Fussy eating is accommodated and alternatives provided. The whole home is welcoming, staff know the residents (and family) well. They soon know likes and dislikes. Everywhere is clean and well looked after. Residents can choose how social they want to be. Their wishes are respected and their dignity is always paramount. Willow Gardens isn't a home, it's an extended family.

Prince Alfred Residential Care Home

from P L (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 30 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I cannot recommend Prince Alfred Residential Care Home highly enough. The level of care provided to my grandmother has been nothing short of outstanding. The staff are incredibly attentive, compassionate, and dedicated to ensuring she feels safe.
As a family we were concerned about the transition from
living at home to residential care. I can honestly say your team have made this a seamless process and ensured my grandmother felt safe and supported with her care needs
Prince Alfred has gone above and beyond to ensure all needs are attended to. The cook regularly liaises with my grandmother to ensure that she is happy with the choices of menu and available snacks. The exceptional puddings are a particular favourite!
Knowing my grandmother is in such capable and caring hands has brought our family immense peace of mind. If you are looking for a residential home where care, dignity and quality of life are the top priorities, I highly recommend Prince Alfred. I would recommend here in a heartbeat!

Review of

Prince Alfred Residential Care Home

from Jon C (Nephew of Resident) published on 27 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Five years ago Prince Alfreds accepted our 'auntie' into care following emergency hospitalisation. She had lived in the same house all her life and was independent and strong-willed. We loved her, the connection to us was simply our mother's best school friend. We had always kept in touch and I had
POA. But our family was over 250 miles away and no other relatives. Thankfully, the local church was her centre for everything.
It was a quick decision, with an earlier steer from Auntie and the church connection. She was always happy at Prince Alfred's and interacted with the staff who managed the care like the guests were their own family.
We have just said a final goodbye to Auntie after a brief illness where the home was simply wonderful. Many of her caring team from Prince Alfreds looked in on the service and celebration of her life. So lovely to chat with them all. They really did make this care home the best we possibly could have selected. A wonderful team and place. Thank You.

Thank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt and touching review about your experience of Prince Alfred. The team would have been honoured to have been a part of Auntie's journey and to have been able to offer her care and comfort during her time with us. It means so much to know that you both felt supported by our team, especially during such a meaningful moment. We deeply appreciate your kind words, especially written at such a difficult time.

from Gill R (Daughter of Resident) published on 27 September 2024

Willow Gardens is a place full of love, kindness and compassion. My dad spent his final weeks there and I couldn't have asked for better care for him. He was treated with dignity and respect by every member of staff and nothing was too much trouble for them. Even though my dad was very poorly, he would
often tell me how well he was looked after and how lovely and kind the staff were to him. The manager is a wonderful lady and she provided me and my family with support, empathy and understanding during a very difficult time. I can't thank her and her wonderful team enough for the loving care and kindness they gave to my lovely dad. I would not hesitate in recommending Willow Gardens to any family looking for a nursing home for their loved one.

Firstly I want to thank the manager and all of her team for the love and warmth both Mum and I received whilst Mum was with Prince Alfred. My mum spent two very happy years with them, and I also got to know everyone and I can genuinely say it really is a place filled with love, laughter and compassion.
My mum sadly died in May, it was just her time. As I don't live in Liverpool as mum neared her passing she very kindly let me stay in the home so that I could be with my mum 24/7 and that was priceless to me, it really let me spend those last days/weeks at her side and I know it was a godsend to my mum too. My mum was so well looked after as she declined and at the same time I was looked after too as it was a very emotional time for me, but everyone, and I really mean everyone, was so kind and always had a hug for me.
If your loved one is lucky enough to find this very special home you can rest assured you will feel safe too, knowing they are being looked after by such a wonderful crew.

from Evelyn R (Friend of Resident) published on 22 July 2024

I visited Ridgewood Court several times in the past to visit with a friend. I have always been impressed with the grounds, the entrance area and the residents' rooms. The room I visited was carefully laid out with personal effects, mementoes and was a warm and welcoming sight. So much so that I was
moved to tears at my first visit knowing that this was indeed a safe and secure place with care of the resident at its heart. I have seen for myself some of the activities provided at Ridgewood Court for the residents to join in with or not as they wish. I couldn't wish for this resident to be looked after anywhere else.

Ridgewood Court Residential Care Home

from Helen H (Daughter of Resident) published on 22 July 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

Our lovely Dad has been a resident at Ridgewood for around 18 months and he suffers from dementia. Right from the start we were so impressed by the carers who helped him to settle very quickly. The care home, is light, bright and airy, and the newly decorated cafe is probably Dad's favourite room. He
and the other residents enjoy this cafe on a regular basis when the best crockery is used for their morning tea and snacks. The nature of Dad's illness means that he has needed to be referred to various medical teams recently which has been organised brilliantly by the lead carers there, and any of our suggestions or comments about Dad's care is listened to and acted on the same day, which is really impressive. The team are really lovely, professional and caring and we feel happy that he is safe and well looked after. We can't thank the carers enough.

My darling mum has been here for over 5 years. Initially on the 'early' dementia floor, before recently moving to the 'advanced' dementia floor.
