I am extremely pleased with the kindness with which my two friends are looked after. There as so many activities that they can join in with when they want to. It is expensive, as all care homes are, but I can't think of anything that needs improving.

Thank you so much for your kind review. We aim to offer professional, kind and knowledgeable care to all of our residents, and as you have stated, this includes our fabulous activities team! We are always learning and trying to improve, but thank you once again for your positive words.

Chesford Grange is a beautiful care home and my mother settled well as soon as she arrived there. It is extremely clean and the food is of a very high standard. Staff are always very pleasant and care for my mother very well. Lots of events are organised and special days are celebrated thoughtfully
by the activities co-ordinator. We are always warmly greeted by the receptionist when we visit.

Reply from Trish McCaffrey, Home Manager at Chesford Grange Care Home

The staff at Chesford Grange are amazing, from when you walk through the doors the friendly reception ladies make you feel welcome and at home.
Our Dad has been a resident here for just a year now and we can not complain about anything, his care is second to none, he is loved by the staff as if he
were their own, his room is spacious, warm and spotlessly clean and his care needs are met to a very good standard on a daily basis.
The activities and entertainment are brilliant and one staff member in particular makes sure everyone takes part and has a great time.
We couldn't ask for better for our Dad, and for the way all the staff look after us too, keep up the good work you're all amazing
Thank you

My grandad was put in portland for rest bite he got a bed very quickly, staff were friendly and welcoming. He had never been anywere before very independent man who didn't like change. The staff made him feel comfortable and was like a little family unit. Anything my grandad needed or wanted was no
trouble. Cares, nurses, manager were also easy to speek too and got to know my granddad as a person not just a number. He sadly passed away 2 weeks later, but was made comfortable for his last days. Would definitely recommend short or long term stays here

I visit 3 times a wk even have lunch with him,& I see exactly what goes on, I can't thank the Nurses/ Carers & everyone

There isn't one person that doesn't treat him with dignity & respect & speak to him whenever they see him,& he enjoys having a laugh with them. The atmosphere is so much more happy & inviting. I'd like to say I've even made some new friends. It's a beautiful home & it's very welcoming So thank you to all.

After my uncle was diagnosed with a brain tumour in November 2024 it was advised that he should go into a care home facility. When I visit my dad at Haresbrook it is a happy experience for me. It's hard enough that my dad has complex dementia but the staff at Haresbrook and the loving atmosphere that they all provide makes me more relaxed when I visit. My husband had dementia and was in end of life care, he was treated with respect and great kindness even when he threw things, they were great with him, and tried to give him the best life he could have in the time he was with them. Their kindness was also extended to me and my family, on his death
they were so good to us and explained what had to happen next. My husband had an aneurysm which burst.

Worst care home ever. Staff tell lies to cover stuff up, had CQC involved multiple times. Rooms are not clean with coffee stains left for weeks. My mum left dirty on numerous occasions very little interaction from care assistants. Management don't want to listen either, never taking onus for their poor
lack of care and lack of ability to be honest and upfront. Avoid at all costs, we don't have a choice to move mum now with her dementia but you have a choice where your relatives are treated with compassion and care, this is not the place.

Reply from Trish McCaffrey, Home Manager at Chesford Grange Care Home

As the new Manager here at Chesford Grange, I offer you my sincere apologies for the experience you describe. Whilst I cannot change the past, I can make a difference today and offer assurances about tomorrow and the weeks ahead in terms of ensuring that we work together to provide the best care for your mum in a clean and comfortable environment. I know from speaking with you yesterday that you are willing to give me the opportunity to address any outstanding issues and for that I am genuinely grateful.
