My grandma has been living here for a few months, she seems happy. The staff where she lives are good, they like to help and have a laugh with the residents. I've seen the management team in my grandma's home (there's a few homes on site), they seem lovely and always take time to speak to the people
that live there, they speak to staff too, asking if their okay. They organise parties for people's birthdays and singers come in, some people who live with my grandma got up and were dancing. I would recommend Florence Mill to other people.

Bishopsgate Lodge Care Home

from J H (Daughter of Resident) published on 11 March 2025

My mother has been a resident for several months and my review really is based upon this in general. My mother has Parkinson's disease/dementia which has left her with poor short term memory. The home itself is good and Mam has been cared for with dignity and respect. The care staff are compassionate/caring,
and endeavour to meet Mam's needs. However, on some occasions and due to inadequate staffing levels on Mam's floor I feel this is not the case, and consequently it doesn't happen. (I.e. long time in responding to nurse call/toileting).

Reply from Dan Rigden, Manager at Bishopsgate Lodge Care Home

My uncle entered Beechcroft in September 2024 after a lengthy time in hospital. At 97 years of age he had become increasingly frail. The staff in the Home are friendly, caring and responsive especially to his changing needs. They also cared for us . Asking if we needed anything , welcomed us, smiled
and made for a perfect atmosphere. We watched the individual care he received, treated with dignity and a respectful sense of humour. All this was clearly led from the management , The manager and the clinical lead have to talk through care etc.
Uncle passed away today being cared for right to the end. The GP was called when needed and appropriate medication given as necessary. As a family we were kept informed ,which when you are not local to the Home was reassuring.
I cannot thank Beechwood Care Home enough.

Reply from Florin Hergheligiu, Home Manager at Beechcroft Care Home

Thank you for your heartfelt message and for sharing your uncle's experience at Beechcroft. Please accept our deepest condolences on his passing. We understand how difficult this time must be for you and your family, and we are truly grateful that we could provide comfort and care to him in his final months. We appreciate you taking the time to share your gratitude, and we will ensure that your message is passed on to our staff. It means a great deal to them to know their work is valued.

from M M (Wife of Resident) published on 5 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

My husband was placed in permanent care in December 2024 due to his deteriorating condition (Vascular Dementia). There were were some minor hiccups as you would expect but, these were promptly rectified. It was probably down to the change over of temporary staff during the Festive season. Nevertheless, they
were all very professional, friendly and understanding to my husband's needs.

I do believe it was just a case of my husband getting used to his new home and the different faces plus, the team getting used to him and his needs. He seems to be settling in OK now. We are happy he is in a safe environment and seems to be well cared for which we are all very grateful. Thank you. Special thank you to the nurses and carers for their friendliness, professionalism and care towards my husband.

The team are always happy to see me and other family members too and greet us with a smile and an update on how my husband's day has been. They treat us like family. Thank you to you all!

Ferndale Court Care Home

Myself and my husband regularly visit my Mother in Law who being a former District Nurse has always been up and dressed early in the day. She has been in this home now for 4 half months and it's like the level of care isn't there, this is not the carer's fault as they seem to be very short staffed.
There has never been a time in these 4 months when a family member has visited that she's been out of bed before 11.30am washed, dressed and sat in her chair. This is only a small snippet into the failings that I have noted throughout her stay and I'm afraid this puts the home in a very bad light. There are buzzers going off constantly, people wanting attention, residents shouting for assistance. This is having a detrimental affect on my health, never mind my Mother in Law.

Reply from Kevin Robinson-Husband, Director of Operations at Ferndale Court Care Home

Moving mum to Ferndale Court has meant that I know that she is safe and well cared for. I can visit mum whenever I want and all the staff are amazing and a credit to this home. One of the main reasons I like this home is the staff and the small residential unit which suits my mum as it's not too overwhelming
for her. I would definitely recommend Ferndale Court to anyone looking for a place for a family member or friend.

I was a resident in Stapleton House from October till the beginning of January I was there as I was waiting for a wheelchair-friendly home which I'm now in. From my first meeting with the manager and one of the carers, I felt at ease. The carers were friendly and helpful. As a chef myself I have to

Beechcroft Care Home

from Terry M (Son of Resident) published on 27 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother was moved to this care home after being put on to end-of-life care, Mum is a dementia sufferer.
The staff at the home are, in my opinion, friendly, helpful and always available if you have any problems.
Before moving into this care home, Mum was in hospital for five weeks and was bedbound
for the whole time due to her legs no longer working, so when she moved into this home I expected her to be bedbound for the rest of her days, I was happily shocked to find on one visit that Mum was in the lounge with all the other residents. On speaking to the manager, he explained that unless it is really not possible, every resident would be in the lounge area to socialise, this, for me, was good to hear as this was good for Mum's mental health.
Mum passed away this week in the home and the staff, especially two members of staff in particular, were especially helpful and on hand for support as soon as it happened, giving me as much time as I needed with Mum.
Wish I put Mum here first.
Thank you Beechcroft Care Home.

Reply from Florin Hergheligiu, Home Manager at Beechcroft Care Home

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughtful and heartfelt feedback. We are sorry for your loss and send our deepest condolences to you and your family during this difficult time. It is incredibly touching to hear about the positive impact our team and the environment had on your mum during her time with us. We are so glad that she was able to spend her days socialising in the lounge with other residents and that our approach helped to improve her mental well-being. Knowing that we could make her final days more comfortable and meaningful is truly humbling for us. Your kind words about our staff, particularly regarding the care and support they provided during such a challenging time, mean so much. We will ensure that your appreciation is passed along to the team. Thank you again for your thoughtful message.

All the staff here are fantastic, giving us total confidence that mum is in safe hands. We value that the rooms are always clean and tidy, the meals always tasty and generous, the décor bright and cheerful, but what distinguishes Delamere from previous places is the staff. We can see that mum loves
and is loved by her carers who always emanate warmth, patience, kindness and understanding. At a previous "good" home mum would exhibit apprehension about some staff, but at Delamere we always see ready smiles and pleasure in their company. Previously elsewhere the home seemed sterile and clinical, but at Delamere we see genuine attachment, reassuring physical closeness when called for, and good humoured relationships between carers and mum. For example recently staff excelled in giving mum a glorious 99th birthday day (with a custom tee-shirt saying "It's taken me 99 years to look this good"!) Priceless! All our family feel hugely grateful to have mum installed in such a safe, caring and professional "home".

My husband needs more help with his food whether it is soup or cereals because he spills most of it. Also, he eats with his fingers a lot and his hands are not clean. They should be washed before he eats as a matter of hygiene. He can only use one hand so his food should be cut up so he can eat with
a fork.
