Beech House Nursing Home

from Kathreen M (Daughter of Resident) published on 13 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Mum was at Beech House from September 2024 until she sadly passed away in December 2025
During her time at Beech she was treated with the utmost dignity and respect, the team at Beech filled her time with love, laughter and non stop support. I knew from day one that i had made the right decision
in placing mum at Beech House. She loved spending time in the beautiful gardens, she would while away the hours enjoying the views and pottering around the flower beds as this was something she loved to do at home.
When mum became poorly the level of care, love & support was amazing....nothing was too much trouble...they were there for her constantly ensuring she had the best level of care right up until the end. Her end of life care plan was exactly how she would have wanted it, she was kept comfortable, monitored constantly and was in no pain and it was all done in a very private and dignified manner.
Thank you Beech

Hatton Court Nursing Home

from J J (Daughter of Resident) published on 11 March 2025

My mum and dad have moved into Hatton Court nursing home last week. Both are very happy. They have seen more of each other since they have been in the nursing home, than they saw of each other in the own home over the last 6 months. As for me and the rest of the family we are more relaxed because we
know that they are being well looked after and that's all we wanted for hem.

The Cedars Nursing Home

from L B (Daughter of Resident) published on 28 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My father moved to The Cedars for palliative care and was there for 33 days. Having a terminal diagnosis was initially hard for Dad to deal with and at times this showed in his behaviour. The calm atmosphere at The Cedars allowed Dad to reflect and come to terms with his situation. It was such a relief
to the family that he had that opportunity to have all his needs met and be in a peaceful environment before he passed away at the start of this year. The staff were so kind to Dad, arranged so much supportive care and kept us informed about everything. They were also lovely after Dad had passed away - which helped a lot. Extremely thankful that The Cedars were there when we needed them, thank you to everyone involved in his care.

Hinstock Manor Care Home

from P K (Daughter of Resident) published on 27 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

At the age of 95, registered blind, hard of hearing and very frail, Mum could no longer remain in her own home and moved into Hinstock Manor Care Home. She had a lovely, large bedroom with ensuite facilities and was encouraged to personalise it with items that were important to her. The staff were very
caring, compassionate, attentive and friendly and did everything they could to ensure Mum was well looked after. Sadly, Mum passed away recently, but I would like to thank everyone at Hinstock Manor, including the lovely reception staff, the carers and the management team for everything they did for her during the 14 months she was with them.

Hinstock Manor Care Home

from Kieran P (Grandson of Resident) published on 27 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Grandad was admitted to Hinstock Manor Care Home in May 2024 after a spell in hospital.
Throughout his time there he had many laughs with the staff and was looked after at a very high standard.
During his end of life pathway the staff treated him with respect and dignity and made it as comfortable
as possible. I want to give a special mention to four members of staff in particular for going up and beyond.
This care home has changed the way I looked at care homes and actually couldn't recommend it any more. Thanks.

I shall always remember the care and kindness that my mother received in her final months. It brought us all happiness and made her passing that much easier to bear. She had a lovely big room with beautiful views of the countryside, a place of peace at a difficult time. She was loved and treated with
dignity and respect, as were we, a huge relief to us. Nothing was too much trouble, and we knew that she was safe and cared for. Heartfelt thanks to all at The Cedars.

The Cedars Nursing Home

from Jan C (Daughter of Resident) published on 24 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My Mum had a month's respite stay at The Cedars during work on her bungalow. We visited a number of care homes before settling on The Cedars and from the moment we entered both myself and my mother both remarked what a lovely relaxed feel there was to the care home. The manager and her team couldn't
have been more helpful. Mum had a beautiful room on the ground floor in the older part of the house which was spacious, had an en-suite shower room and was very well furnished. It looked out onto beautiful countryside and Mum enjoyed watching families walk their dogs along the footpath bordering the extensive well-kept grounds. Mum was happy to join other residents in the lounge and enjoyed the meals in the lovely dining room setting. It is certainly a care home that she would be happy returning to either for respite care or as a full-time resident if needed in the future. Thank you to the whole team for providing such an excellent standard of care.

From the moment my dad moved here I felt a weight lift off my shoulders. Dad settled in straight away which was down to the care and love shown by all the staff. That care and love extended to the rest of the family too. Sadly, Dad passed away after 2 years there but it was a wonderful 2 years. He often
wrote in his diary 'I've had a lovely life and I still am'.

My godmother has been at Weston House for nearly 2 years. She settled well in EMI and for such a private person just seems to enjoy it. She tries with the activities when it suits her. She is just content. Any behavioral issues, and there has been some, she is treated with such caring and kindness.
Her needs and safety are paramount and I am kept informed of any issues and falls. She is clean, well cared for and happy. Would I mover her? No, she wouldn't allow it.

The reason I put satisfactory for the room - the emergency stairs are obstructing the day light in the room (realise this is not easy to fix). My sister says the food is good. The staff are kind and helpful. The manager has encouraged my sister to paint and draw again. As far as I can see, the staff
arranged activities and outings to improve well-being and health (thinking about my sister in particular).

My dad was admitted five weeks ago and the manager and all staff have been so understanding and caring with the sudden stroke and dementia that befell my dad. Always welcomed from everyone, from the cleaner to manager, with thoughtfulness and are always available for a chat. Dad has struggled to settle
but "patience" is the staff's middle name and are all doing their best to help the transition to his new home go smoothly.

Hatton Court Nursing Home

from Christine B (Daughter of Resident) published on 12 December 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Our mother came to Hutton Court in August 2024. I had been her full time care giver for 2 1/2 years. Since a stroke in April 2023 her abilities had been affected and over time became more complicated. After a fall she became very weak and was transferred to Hatton Court team on a stretcher. Over time
mum has become fairly accepting of the situation and at times she is mobile and surprises the family and staff. The Hatton Court staff are understanding and tolerant of mums ups and downs, are supportive and encouraging. The staff have made a real effort to understanding and learn about her past life achievements. We feel blessed to have mum in such a caring environment.

I cannot fault the care/support that my mother receives. I don't have any experience with food so I am unable to comment. However bedrooms, bathrooms and toilet (commode) are unacceptable and leave a lot to be desired. They desperately need to be upgraded or put in place. This would benefit both residents
and staff. Also double glazing maybe of benefit.

My mum has been staying at Weston House for five months now and overall everything is going well but there have been a couple of incidents which have happened which have disappointed us and one was an incident where my mum was left on the step outside the home on her own even though she has dementia,
we were horrified at that, and also Mum went over a week without a shower, and a few incidents with her diet as Mum has high cholesterol her meals need to be low fat, especially dairy.
