To focus on one month is unrealistic, over 6 months - this would be my care home of choice. Initial teething problems overcome both in households and care floor. Care staff generally excellent, patient and respectful. Management approachable and helpful. Handover from H/H to care was clumsy, fully discussed
at management level, all now ok. My wife is content and well care for. Thank you.

All the staff are fabulous, from reception to kitchen to carers. Mum has been here on and off for 3 months now, I can finally sleep at night , knowing that she is safe and there is help at hand 24/7 should she require it. The carers seem to genuinely "care" which is a rarity these days. Plenty of activities
and entertainment is always available should anyone wish to join in. It would be difficult to get Mum out at the moment, but the fact we can join in with activities or meet and have lunch with her at Richmond, means a lot.
The staff seem to be a bit stretched sometimes, whether more are needed? but there are always going to be busier times of the day I suppose.
I just hope we can keep her here for as long as possible!

If you can afford it then Richmond Village Care Home in Nantwich is a great place to care for an elderly person. The care is excellent and there are activities to suit all tastes. It's best asset though is its staff - not just the carers but also the activity team, reception team and management.

Grandad waited over 30 minutes to go to toilet and bed. I believe more care staff are needed, especially at bedtime, the girls are fantastic but there are not enough of them to assist people who are not able to help themselves due to mobility. Also only one stand aid in place of care to service all
residents is not acceptable! Especially the fees!

It is evident that the staff are very professional and work hard to maintain the stringent criteria that enable the consistent delivery of the highest level of care.

My Mum is a resident at Richmond Village Care Home, St. Joseph's, Nantwich, and has lived there for almost 15 months. She has settled very well and the staff have shown her great kindness, care, and support. She particularly values how members of staff and fellow residents will stop by her open door
and have a chat with her or a cheery remark as they pass. Everyone is helpful and friendly from the lovely, pleasant, professional carers, cleaners, restaurant staff, maintenance team, gardeners and drivers, and receptionists, to the wonderful entertainment team.
We visit my Mum regularly and it is a tremendous comfort to us to know she is kept safe and cared for respectfully and compassionately. in such beautiful surroundings. It is also reassuring for my Mum to have the continuity of familiar faces delivering high-quality care in a way that helps my Mum to retain her dignity and maintain a level of independence whilst being gently, carefully, and discreetly monitored.

There are few words to describe watching your parents age and decline. Both of our parents moved to Richmond Villages and have received the warmest and most excellent care from all who work at Richmond Villages. Recently, our beloved and wonderful father passed away after a long illness just before
the Christmas Holiday. Not only did Dad receive daily care filled with dignity, love and compassion, but his wife, his children and families were wrapped in comfort, love and support. Down each corridor every person met us with a hug, condolences, a kind word and support. We miss our dad every moment of every day, but we cannot fault the love and care he received while at Richmond Villages, the same wonderful care our mother is receiving there. Thank you to all of the glorious staff at Richmond Villages, we couldn't ask for any better.

Mum has been in the care home for nearly 12 months when her needs increased. It was a very difficult decision to make. However, Richmond Village Care Home is now her new home, and she feels very much at home in this unique environment. She is treated with the utmost respect, and the staff (both carers
and non-carers) are amazing and make Mum feel part of the community. Food is of an excellent standard and the building is continually kept at a very high standard.

My mother moved into Richmond Village in March 2024.
From the moment she arrived, she was made welcome and cared for.
The transition moving from her home was smooth and Mum settled in immediately with the loving care and attention 'Richmond offers.

and I can't thank them all enough.

I joined my mother for a Christmas Day dinner at the Grove, the care home restaurant. Our food was fantastic! We were well looked after and the tables were beautifully set out. It was a lovely Christmas meal. My mother's nails had been done and she had been dressed and groomed nicely - as always. Upstairs,
on the nursing care floor, staff were making sure the residents were able to enjoy their Christmas and were very welcoming to families.

I have both my parents at Richmond Village Willaston. One upstairs requiring nursing care and one downstairs who is a little more self sufficient.
I can not fault the care they are both being given. They have been helped to settle in with many of their favourite things and all the staff are eager to
get to know them, their interests and all their little ways.
They are cared for well from basic needs through to being stimulated well. The staff have made us feel welcome and have cared for the whole family when visiting. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend settling in a loved one who might need some extra support.

We spent a long time looking for the right place that was clean, friendly, interested in the customers needs, yet relaxed and open, where people are treated as people and not an account number.
Equally important was to find a place where the staff are valued by the home for their efforts in caring
for the residents as this is ultimately felt by residents.
Ten out of ten to the whole team who make this a special place for everyone!

Richmond Village is an excellent care home (Willaston). My Mum was made very welcome when we arrived at the care home. The staff were very caring and couldn't do enough for Mum. She had excellent care and was very relaxed and happy, which made us able to enjoy our break (respite). Mum took part in the
activities. I wouldn't hesitate to use Richmond Village Willaston again which is well-run with plenty of staff. Mum really enjoyed her respite stay. Thank you.

I spent 2 weeks here for rehab and can say nothing but praise for the service I received. All the staff I met were friendly from day one. Any queries or requests were dealt with immediately and were usually over and above the call of duty. The food was excellent, medication was dealt with on time and
a quiet watch made sure that I was ok, regularly. Overall the rooms are spotless and well maintained. My washing was collected and returned promptly. Tea and coffee were available on call. Altogether a very pleasant stay.

Richmond Villages provide a very good caring environment for my mother. Staff are welcoming and the vast majority show great patience with the dementia residents. The activities and outings are such a bonus. Visiting children are welcomed, as are therapy pets. These have such a positive impact on my
mother's mood; please keep welcoming them in!

I am so pleased with the choice of care home for Mum. All the staff that we meet are so friendly and helpful and seem to have an interest in Mum which is helping her to settle in her new home.
They have a caring and understanding attitude which is so reassuring as Mum was reluctant and fearful of a
change of environment. Mum is now enjoying much more sociable days, taking an interest in others and the activities that the home has to offer. It's all been a positive move.

Home second to none and care very good, I personally find the management and communication very much lacking. In 15 months of relative's residence, the manager has never introduced themselves to me. No introduction/induction was ever offered on taking up residence in the home. I was not routinely consulted
in my relative's care even though they have complex needs from multiple agencies. These things are important to the people responsible for the resident as the home acting with autonomy is alienating and unprofessional; I would have thought that any home should afford the next-of-kin the courtesy of communicating fully with regard to their loved one's needs and status. When my relative declined and needed to move to the higher dependency 'Care Floor' I was only called the day they wanted to move them. I would expect to be given more notice. Then again no introduction to any staff, how they worked, what to expect or given a point of contact; very hard in an end-of-life situation.

Reply from Michelle Barrett, Home Manager at Richmond Villages Willaston

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a review. We are pleased to know you find the home and care to be second to none. However, we are very sorry to hear of your experience with communication from our management within the home. The experience of our residents and their loved ones is of the utmost importance to us and we are sorry if we have fallen short of our expected standards on this occasion. The Management team within the home and also the Regional team would welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss your concerns and be able to address them with you directly. Please contact us if this is something you would be willing to do. We want to be able to support however we can.

My father was a resident in the upstairs rooms as he had dementia and was not mobile last year after a period in hospital after a fall, he was 91 years old.
Although the surroundings are beautiful the care was a disgrace. Please think carefully before taking your loved one here. My dad had 13 falls
within 4 weeks of arriving and was eventually admitted back into hospital with severe dehydration. The hospital staff had mapped the many bruises he had and were shocked at his condition considering he had been admitted from a "care" home.
There were not enough staff and it was not unusual to wait for 20 minutes when we rang the bell if my dad wanted to use a toilet.
My dad then had palliative care at another care home in his last weeks and it was a different experience with staff who gave my dad his dignity.
Downstairs at Richmond may be a different experience if you do not have dementia and are mobile, they do not have the staff who can cope with dementia and use too many agency staff.

Reply from Michelle Barrett, Home Manager at Richmond Villages Willaston

At Richmond Villages Willaston the experience of all our residents and their loved ones is incredibly important to us. We are very focused on the level of ongoing training and support our care team receives and always strive to provide the highest standards of care. We are sorry that this was not reflected in your experience of our Village. We take all concerns raised very seriously and as an opportunity to learn and improve. When you raised your concerns to us in August 2023 we investigated and responded to you directly. We would be happy to follow this up with you again, and if this would be of any benefit please do contact us directly.

My mother recently came out of hospital after a three-week stay and arrived back to Richmond late at night. Staff went out of their way to help and accommodate her, even after working a hard 8-hour shift. The carers have shown their true commitment, professionalism and great kindness in dealing with
mother over recent weeks as her mobility has worsened. They have made every effort to make her feel safe and well cared for. Staff from all departments of the care home go out of their way to pass the time of day with her which is invaluable when a resident is room-based.
The care home is well-presented and maintained.
The grounds are attractive and a great credit to the home - they must bring residents much pleasure.
The Activities team provide a wide range of activities to encourage participation by all. They are extremely dedicated to ensuring residents have a wonderful time. The reception area and staff are very professional, helpful and provide a lovely welcome.
