My mum decided to move to Epworth Grange after a fall at home impacted her mobility and confidence. Her choice was based on good reports from friends. Whilst it has been a momentous move for someone who valued her independence so highly, she has started to settle. This is largely due to the truly caring
staff and the well run efficiency of Epworth Grange. She appreciates the activities though wishes there was more at weekends. Her family and friends visit frequently and can see that she is safe and well looked after.

Ever since I went to Trembaths I have been treated as part of a loving family, although it is my husband who is the resident. My husbands care & comfort have been exceptional in every way. The kindness of all , including cleaners as well as carers has been lovely, both to him & all our family. I thank
god he is where he is & although I miss him, I no longer worry about him. Thank you to everyone.

Waterside House

from M S (Husband of Resident) published on 14 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My wife was placed in Waterside House in September 2023 following a massive stroke which severely impaired her ability to communicate. From the moment she arrived she received wonderful care form all the staff from the home manager to the most junior carer. She was at times exceedingly difficult to
care for, times when the staff showed her love patience and care for beyond what could be expected. The atmosphere of Waterside is one of love in everything they do, you feel it from the moment you walk into the home. That atmosphere of a second home is created by the dedicated staff who work tirelessly to maintain standards and make residents happy in what is a difficult period of their lives.

The staff of Reuben Manor are always supportive from the carers to the management. They have my mum's best interests at heart and can read the signs of any health related issues as they work with her so much that they understand her pattern of behaviour. One member of the care also liaised with GP above
and beyond to ensure my mum's needs were met. She enjoys the food and activities and management have always been supportive over the financial aspect of care.

Over the next couple of months my mums dementia had gotten to the stage where she could no longer live independently at home. After some difficult times in hospital and in short term care mum has now moved into Pennystone Court Blackpool. I have been in many care homes through my professional life and
I can honestly say Pennystone Court as an environment is perfect for my mum, very homely, food is great, room very comfortable. The best thing about Pennystone however is the staff, management team and exceptional care. Mum is happy settled and has things to do. I cannot thank the staff enough for what they have done for my mum (and me) over the last few months.

Charnwood House

I have not visited a care home since 1985 when my mother was a resident. I was a bit apprehensive about assessing care homes for my husband who has dementia. A social worker advised me to look at the staff not the decor to decide what was required. I asked staff how long they had been employed at Charnwood
and found some had been there 5 and 9 years which was reassuring. The staff are very caring and look after my husbands needs. They are patient with him he is well fed and his personal hygiene is excellent. The decor is satisfactory.

Reply from Claire Picchi, Home Manager at Charnwood House

Thank you for your kind words, I will pass these onto the staff team as I know they will really appreciate it. Your husband has settled in really well, it is lovely to have him here and we are so glad that you are happy with everything.

Reuben Manor

from J W (Daughter of Resident) published on 6 March 2025

Overall rating I'd give good, food is not deemed satisfactory. Same sandwiches for evening meals, cake and custard every day and mash. A pasty for evening meal is not acceptable for the money paid. Wheelchair users contained to building unless it's their turn to visit local pub. When she asks for a
bath, she's told staff are busy. I see that staff are very busy but this is not an excuse. Activities staff and carers work very hard and do their best with residents. I wouldn't want mam anywhere else but room for improvement.

Reply from Julie Peyton, Home Manager at Reuben Manor

Thank you for your review. I am pleased that you would give an overall rating of good and that you wouldn't want your mam anywhere else. I am sorry that you do have some concerns. I'd be very happy to discuss these further, so that we can take action. Please do contact me if you would like to meet.

Review of

Stratton House

from Lynda S (Daughter of Resident) published on 6 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Dad has been welcomed and extremely well cared for since he first arrived, initially for a respite stay, a year ago. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, who are all caring and considerate. There is a positive and happy atmosphere between them, with each other and with the residents, and I am
so glad that Dad has chosen permanent residency. As time passes, he is increasingly settled. Last Christmas he became very unwell and the 'hospital at home' team from the hospital, in tandem with Stratton House staff, provided exemplary care. As a family we have all been made welcome and we could not be more pleased to know how well looked after Dad is.

Reply from Steve Hill, Home Manager at Stratton House

My mother entered Hall Grange in February 2024 and was there until she passed away in October 2024.
The care was excellent, mum was treated with dignity and compassion.
The facilities were excellent, as was the food. Mum really liked the 'tea trolley' which came around twice a day, dispensing doughnuts
and cake. All the staff were very kind and helpful and the management was excellent.

Reply from Abi Williams, Home Manager at Hall Grange

Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. It means a great deal to hear that your mother's time at Hall Grange was comfortable and filled with care and compassion. We are pleased to know that the care team treated her with the dignity and compassion she deserved. Your feedback is very much appreciated.

My sister has been in Waterside for over five years now, and we have never had any concern for her welfare. She could not be cared for any better. All the staff from management to carers, kitchen, entertainer and garden staff are so friendly and caring, and always there to ask anything and really go
out of their way to help in any way they can, so we never have to worry about my sister.
