My friend says the way she was looked after + treated was good.

I came here from the hospital to Hillside nursing home for rehabilitation as suffered from minor strokes, a minor heart attack, and low oxygen levels due to being overweight. Hillside is an excellent home but needs more staff for activities and sometimes there food is cold.

My mother was cared for at Hillside from 2016 until she passed in early December 2024, aged 104. I have nothing but praise and gratitude for the excellent management and leadership, along with the staff on 'Hogarth'. The management and staff were always happy to keep relatives up to date with any issues
and answer any questions we had. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home to any potential future resident and their family.

My brother moved into Hillside Nursing Home 4 years ago. For the first 2 1/2 years I was very happy. Though the past 18 months I have seen a change and it saddens me. Attitudes need to change then the high-level care can return.

Our friend is a lifelong Methodist and wanted to move into Hillside Nursing Home. When we visited in September 2024, we were delighted to find that Hillside was light and airy, in great decorative order, newly carpeted and smelled fresh. We were given a tour of the premises and given plenty of information
about the running of the home and the care which our friend could expect.
When our friend moved into Hillside, we found that the management and nursing teams were always available and willing to answer our questions which was a great comfort to us at a very stressful time.
Our friend is now coming to terms with being a resident in a care home and we are grateful for the support he is being given.

My brother has progressive multiple sclerosis and was living alone in Norfolk with carer visits, the situation was dangerous, he was alone for periods during the day and alone through the night. After an application and tour around Hillside Nursing Home he moved into permanent residence there in September
2024, so he was finally back in Aylesbury! The first few weeks were a bit edgy as he wasn't used to 24 hour care, however, the staff at Hillside are highly trained in making sure residents are made to feel welcome, comfortable and cared for, they build up trust and friendliness. My brother has settled in well and when myself and other family members visit the staff interact with us in every way to make sure he is happy. The care is exceptional, we wouldn't want him to be anywhere else. The building is extremely clean and very well managed, we are looking forward to the warmer months when we can sit with our brother outside on the lovely and colourful wooden veranda and also let him experience the outdoor activities.

My son has been enjoying regular respite care at Hillside Nursing Home for over 5 years now and I can honestly say that the experience has been a thoroughly positive one in every way. The staff are dedicated, professional and good humoured, treating my son with kindness, love and respect. I am always
super confident to leave him in their care, it feels like family, or better! If ever any issues arise I know I can express them openly and that they will always be dealt with swiftly and professionally. Thank you Hillside and long may our friendship continue.

Hillside Nursing Home is a very welcoming home, the carers are very friendly and accommodating, and the nurses as well.
Sadly, I can't say the same for the newly appointed manager, she is very dismissive and comes across as non caring.

Having had the dreadful experience of four nursing homes in twelve years who were quite incapable of looking after our daughter with very complex nursing needs, we can say with confidence that Westbury Grange can now meet her needs with professionalism, kindness and understanding. This home has excellent,
permanent staff giving continuity of care. They understand the need for stimulation with two activities people plus a trained music therapist each week. The food is beautifully cooked and presented. We feel extremely fortunate to have found this excellent home. The manager and her staff are totally dedicated to making this home perfect for some of the most vulnerable people in society. This home deserves the highest level of commendation.

We could not be happier with the care our mother is receiving at Hillside. Without exception, be it a member of the cleaning team or someone in a management role, the staff are kind, compassionate and thoughtful and always have a smile and a friendly word. Having a family member in a nursing home can
be a worrying time, but it is such a comfort for us to know that our Mum is safe and so well looked after. We would be confident to recommend Hillside to anyone.

My mum came to need full-time dementia care following a fall and stay in hospital, which made it impossible for her to go back to living alone. The lady was so helpful and supportive during a very difficult time moving mum. All the staff are so caring and take their time, and Mum never feels rushed.
Mum has really settled wonderfully and is very well and happy. I have now gone back to being her daughter and my visits are lovely. I have been as well looked after by everyone at Westbury Grange as mum has been.

My mother is extremely happy in Westbury Grange. She moved from a Retirement Village with sporadic care and was lonely and depressed. She moved into Westbury Grange just under a year ago and her overall health has improved, she is cared for considerately and is stimulated as far as is possible with
her condition. This move is the most positive outcome I could have hoped for.

Needing to find a care home can occur unexpectedly and is another complication that compounds already testing times.
We went through a very trying experience when a parent became ill but I'm so pleased we found Westbury Grange. It most definitely fits the category of a care home that provides compassionate
and effective support care for a dementia sufferer. The home itself is well-appointed, comfortable and very welcoming for residents and their families. The carers are all friendly, good-humoured and took the time to get to know me personally. When I visit, everyone greets me by name, including relatives of other residents at Westbury which makes me feel so at ease. Westbury is run by experienced, compassionate people who understand what residents and their families are experiencing. I'm happy my relative is well looked after at a well-equipped home, that keeps me advised of developments and works hard to ease the trauma (and occasional hassles) whenever possible.

Reply from Julie Roche, Home Manager at Westbury Grange

My mother moved into Westbury Grange in January. The staff could not have been more welcoming in helping her to make the transition, welcoming her with flowers and encouraging her to take part in a range of activities that take place in the home. The staff have also shown her great care and love, identifying
any illnesses and making sure she gets the right care and always communicating with me quickly and clearly. I feel very comfortable with the care my mother is receiving.

My wife was in residential care with Westbury Grange with end of life care. Sadly she passed away in May. During her time there she was safe, comfortable and looked after very well. The staff were friendly and worked very hard. Westbury Grange has a homely atmosphere and you can visit any time day or
night. Also the staff were there for me as well supporting and praising me.

Nobody wants their mum to have to be in residential care but with Westbury Grange, we do at least know that she is safe and cared for. The staff are like family and treat her like they really care for her as a person, not just a resident or patient. People know her likes and dislikes and what she can
and can't do. Westbury is comfy and homely and although we still feel guilty that she isn't at home, we know she is in a good place.
