It is with peace of mind for me as a service user's close blood relative that they are being cared for by moral, compassionate, people with the patience of saints! :) The staff are also very co-operative and attentive to all the residents' visitors especially the close relatives. The resident's meetings,
with minutes taken for the record, and these sent to their email inboxes by request is also a reassurance. The optional, non-obligatory church services coming to and being conducted in the home are also a blessing (excuse the pun) as most of the residents would not be able to go out to church anymore. That you let the resident's relatives and friends and visitors join in is excellent, and the same goes for other activities, e.g. the exercise clases which then of course encourages the residents to want to participate a bit more. The gardens are kept beautiful, and even if the resident is only able to look out of the window, these add to the enhancement of life at Ryelands.

My 90 year old Aunt had to move care homes as her home was closing down which was very unfortunate. Everyone at the Meadow was very helpful and made it a smooth transition both for my aunt and my family. She has settled in very well and all the staff have been very kind and attentive to her needs
which I am very grateful for. The rooms and bedroom are all light and airy and my aunt enjoys the activities on offer.l

My husband has been a resident at the Meadow for the past two years.
I go and visit him often and always found the staff welcoming and approachable.
I feel that the care home is run as a family, the carers seem to know the needs of the residents and are always willing to help them.
I have also noticed
that the carers get on very well with each other and in my opinion this is the key for the smooth running of a care home.
I strongly recommend the Meadow as my husband has been happy there for the past two years.

My elderly mother moved into The Meadow in February 2025. The staff at the Meadow have been so kind and understanding and have done everything possible to help my Mum settle in to The Meadow. She really likes her room and with encouragement from the carers feels comfortable to join in activities with
other residents. We as relatives always feel welcome to visit our loved ones, and are given prompt updates on health and any other issues. I am very happy with the care my mother is receiving at The Meadow.

A wonderful, truly caring care home. The Meadow have looked after my mother for some three years now. The staff are unfailingly friendly, cheerful, professional. They deal, in particular, with dementia affected residents sympathetically and, crucially, intelligently, knowing how best to handle them.
I once heard it reported from a GP in the area that this is where they would send their own mother. I've certainly never had a moment's regret; my mother is happy here.

My mother entered Hall Grange in February 2024 and was there until she passed away in October 2024.
The care was excellent, mum was treated with dignity and compassion.
The facilities were excellent, as was the food. Mum really liked the 'tea trolley' which came around twice a day, dispensing doughnuts
and cake. All the staff were very kind and helpful and the management was excellent.

Lawnfield House

from Judith A (Niece of Resident) published on 13 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My Aunt, now aged 92, has been a resident at Lawnfield House for just over two years. When she was in hospital due to a serious fall in her own home, she was placed at Lawnfield by the social worker and my sisters and I have been deeply thankful that it has been such a good home for her. She has been
happier, better socialised, respected and treated with affection on a daily basis than ever before in her life and this has meant a significant improvement in her mental and spiritual as well as physical health.
The staff are always kind and patient with her and they communicate well with me on the phone and when I visit. The manager and administrative staff are accessible and responsive to any questions or needs.
Her room and the en-suite are always clean, the hairdresser visits regularly and on the few occasions when a GP visit has been needed, the staff organise it promptly.

Reply from Lauren Sparg, Home Manager at Lawnfield House

Thank you so much for taking the time to post such a thoughtful, kind, positive and uplifting review for Lawnfield House. I have read all your comments and can see that you have given us very high ratings. I will pass along your kind words to the staff team as I am sure that they will be delighted.

My mother has blossomed since being a resident of Ryelands. She was not eating and not drinking, even though food and water was in front of her. At Ryelands they not only eat in view of others and with others, but there are always careers around to help and gently encourage eating or drinking.
My mother
was loosing all contacts with people, but at Ryelands she seems to have come out of herself and appears very happy.

All staff are polite, friendly and helpful and have a lot of patience and all are good. The Christmas party was good, a lot of people were there.
It was good to see a lot of family, friends, and relatives of the residents attended.
There was a lot of food and drinks.
The central heating is a bit
too hot.
Could lower the temperature a bit, will feel better. Especially in the summertime heating should be turned off. Thanks.

Reply from Solomon-Paul Ekuase, Home Manager at Ryelands

Thank you for your review. Please be reassured that during the summer months our heating is virtually off as it is automatic and would not come on except if it hits a very low temperate. We realise that the heating could be hot for others but most, if not all the residents, prefer it as they have very thin skin and get cold easily. I will continue to review the heating situation and ensure that it is comfortable for all.

We had to put my friend into Ryelands after she suffered numerous falls with her bad mobility and was suffering with Alzheimer's. Whilst she has only been there for about two months I have been very impressed with the facilities and cleanliness there. My friend has a lovely large room which is very
homely with a lovely view of the gardens. The staff at the home are amazing and are so caring with the residents. They were very quick to close the home down when they had an outbreak of health issues. My friend cannot go out now due to her condition but they make sure she gets included in all the activities they provide. They put on a Christmas party for the residents which we could go to and which ended up with the carers getting residents to dance which was lovely. My friend's sister is in the same care home but in a different section as she also has Alzheimer's and they make sure they regularly get to see one another. I would recommend the home to anyone in this situation.
