Hall Grange

from A J (Daughter of Resident) published on 6 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother entered Hall Grange in February 2024 and was there until she passed away in October 2024.
The care was excellent, mum was treated with dignity and compassion.
The facilities were excellent, as was the food. Mum really liked the 'tea trolley' which came around twice a day, dispensing doughnuts
and cake. All the staff were very kind and helpful and the management was excellent.

Reply from Abi Williams, Home Manager at Hall Grange

Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. It means a great deal to hear that your mother's time at Hall Grange was comfortable and filled with care and compassion. We are pleased to know that the care team treated her with the dignity and compassion she deserved. Your feedback is very much appreciated.

The care home have been so welcoming to my Mum and all her visitors.
They pay a great deal of attention to their clients and their needs.
All areas are very clean and well kept, whenever we visit everyone always looks happy, the staff are very open and always help with any questions.
My Mum settled
in very quickly and often comments on how lovely the staff are.

My mother has been a resident at Ryelands for nearly 2 years. She has been well cared for and I know she is in good hands. The staff at the moment seem to work together well and there is always a pleasant atmosphere when I arrive to visit my mother, a happy smile and some laughter go a long way! The
outdoor space is lovely and my mother and I have enjoyed many 'get-togethers/events' in the sunshine.

Lawnfield House

from Judith A (Niece of Resident) published on 13 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My Aunt, now aged 92, has been a resident at Lawnfield House for just over two years. When she was in hospital due to a serious fall in her own home, she was placed at Lawnfield by the social worker and my sisters and I have been deeply thankful that it has been such a good home for her. She has been
happier, better socialised, respected and treated with affection on a daily basis than ever before in her life and this has meant a significant improvement in her mental and spiritual as well as physical health.
The staff are always kind and patient with her and they communicate well with me on the phone and when I visit. The manager and administrative staff are accessible and responsive to any questions or needs.
Her room and the en-suite are always clean, the hairdresser visits regularly and on the few occasions when a GP visit has been needed, the staff organise it promptly.

Reply from Lauren Sparg, Home Manager at Lawnfield House

Thank you so much for taking the time to post such a thoughtful, kind, positive and uplifting review for Lawnfield House. My mother has blossomed since being a resident of Ryelands. She was not eating and not drinking, even though food and water was in front of her. At Ryelands they not only eat in view of others and with others, but there are always careers around to help and gently encourage eating or drinking.
My mother
was loosing all contacts with people, but at Ryelands she seems to have come out of herself and appears very happy.

The staff at Davids House organised a wonderful 100th birthday for our mum. They really went out of their way to make it a lovely day for her, and for our family. They set aside a space for us and decorated it beautifully, and provided a delicious cake and lots of food. We were very touched by the
effort everyone put in. We are so glad that we chose Davids House for our mum's care.

Reply from Ruth Woodford, Administration Manager at Davids House

All staff are polite, friendly and helpful and have a lot of patience and all are good. The Christmas party was good, a lot of people were there.
It was good to see a lot of family, friends, and relatives of the residents attended.
There was a lot of food and drinks.
The central heating is a bit
too hot.
Could lower the temperature a bit, will feel better. Especially in the summertime heating should be turned off. Thanks.

Reply from Solomon-Paul Ekuase, Home Manager at Ryelands

Thank you for your review. Please be reassured that during the summer months our heating is virtually off as it is automatic and would not come on except if it hits a very low temperate. We realise that the heating could be hot for others but most, if not all the residents, prefer it as they have very thin skin and get cold easily. I will continue to review the heating situation and ensure that it is comfortable for all.

Ryelands

from Janet J (Friend of Resident) published on 31 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

We had to put my friend into Ryelands after she suffered numerous falls with her bad mobility and was suffering with Alzheimer's. Whilst she has only been there for about two months I have been very impressed with the facilities and cleanliness there. My friend has a lovely large room which is very
homely with a lovely view of the gardens. The staff at the home are amazing and are so caring with the residents. They were very quick to close the home down when they had an outbreak of health issues. My friend cannot go out now due to her condition but they make sure she gets included in all the activities they provide. They put on a Christmas party for the residents which we could go to and which ended up with the carers getting residents to dance which was lovely. My friend's sister is in the same care home but in a different section as she also has Alzheimer's and they make sure they regularly get to see one another. I would recommend the home to anyone in this situation.

Reply from Solomon-Paul Ekuase, Home Manager at Ryelands

Many thanks for your very kind review of our service, not only the physical care but the emotional and social care we provide including our environment and we facilitate the continuous building of relationships. My mum has been at Rylands since 2018. She has been very happy there and she calls it her home. Staff are very friendly and very approachable when we visit Mum. Mum's 90th birthday was last February and we were allowed to use the conservatory for a small family gathering and mum was happy to see her
family and friends. I couldn't have done it without the support from home management and the staff.

I feel the care of my relative, has been excellent, the staff are very attentive, kind caring supportive, and encouraging. The staff worked very hard to encourage my relative to become more mobile. All the staff are very friendly and it is a very happy home. I feel it provides the best care for my
relative.
The home is always clean and tidy. And the daily activities they offer are varied and they encourage residents to join in. It's a lovely home.

The staff at Ryelands have been so kind and caring to my father since he has been a resident. Dad was challenging in the last couple of months but they worked together with outside agencies to make sure he is now calm and comfortable. It was a very difficult time for us as a family to choose a home

The instant you walk through the main entrance at Ryelands you are greeted with smiles and a hello.
Ryelands in my opinion is as close to a home setting and family to our Mum.
Ryelands and all its staff work extremely hard to provide care and understanding even spiritual support which helps my Mum
who remembers her time as a younger woman in the Salvation Army's band.
The home is spotless, warm, and wet equipped with a large dining area and lounge.
My rating for Ryelands is 10 out of 10.

Lawnfield House

from Michael D (Son of Resident) published on 28 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Our Father was in Lawnfield House for approximately 3 years until his passing in May 2022. During his stay in this 5-star Care Home, he was always happy/comfortable and the staff all looked after him extremely well. The food was great, his bedroom and ensuite bathroom was clean and the overall facility
was always warm and welcoming. However, the best thing about Lawnfield House is the staff! Everybody from the strict but very competent and caring Managers to the wonderful Care Team, to the auxiliary and night staff were top-notch people, all of them with an innate ability for caring, respecting and patience. If I fast forward now to January 2025 and the present date, it suddenly became necessary to find a care home for our lovely mother. My sister and I made one call to Lawnfield House just to ensure that the manager and many other staff were all still running the place and our decision was easy. Mum moved into Lawnfield a few days ago. Good luck with your search.

Thank you so much for taking the time to complete such a wonderful review for our care home and for our staff team. These positive reviews always make such a big difference with inspiring and motivating our staff team so I will certainly be sharing your kind words with the team. We are delighted to have your mum staying with us after having had your father stay with us previously all those years ago. We will endeavour to care for your Mum as best we can and support her to live later life well.

All I can say is the care that my father received at Kenbrook was amazing. Each and every member of staff does an outstanding job and I was desperate to get my mother into Kenbrook but she passed away before I could. My dad was old-school Sicilian and quite a difficult character but this did not phase
them at all. They showed him so much kindness and respect that I will forever be grateful to them.
The care that they show all the residents makes it a pleasure to spend time at Kenbrook.
Thank you so much for all you did for my Father.
