Staff were all extremely kind and friendly. Mum was looked after really well. Mum was treated with dignity and respect by all staff. As a family, we were also treated with dignity and respect. Communication was very good.
Staff made an effort to find out about Mum and us as a family. It was mum and
Dad's 65th wedding anniversary while mum was there and the management team arranged an afternoon tea for us where we could sit in a private room as a family and celebrate. This meant the world to us. I would recommend Ashfield House to anyone.

On the whole we are very satisfied re the care of my mother. The staff have cared well for her, recognising when she has been ill and needed medical attention. My mother seems to be happy here. The staff are always friendly and approachable. The only query I would have is there seems to have been an
almost full change of management and staff, with no apparent reason or explanation.

Staff at Ashby Lodge are beyond caring, every time I visit they are so welcoming and are always on hand to help! The bedrooms are nice and the whole home is very homely with a lovely garden. The manager is absolutely amazing and answered the door with a smile and was always on hand, which is part of
the reason why we chose the home. The meals although home-cooked didn't look the best and the portion sizes were quite small.

I am filling this form in on behalf of my Mother. In general, I find that she is well-looked after and seems content. Activities seem to be quite wide ranging although Mum does not usually want to take part in them.

Mum was supposed to be at the home for 1-2 weeks but ended up being there for 7 weeks. Mum is a very talkative person but unfortunately, she was not able to converse with many residents. Being in a home is a big transition for Mum so it was a struggle for her to settle in. The staff were very patient
with her so thank you.

Before my mother moved into Ashview House I was invited to see her bedroom and shown around the home by a friendly knowledgeable member of staff which was reassuring and allayed my concerns regarding my mother moving into the home. The manager has been very supportive to both my mother and me, very
professional, caring and kind which also applies to all the staff.

My mother passed away on the 2nd of January 2025. I was overwhelmed with the genuine compassion and empathy shown by all of the staff that were present at the time. This was a true reflection of the love and affection towards my mum during the whole of her stay, the key being in the name. Ashfield House,
staffed by people who really care, making it a place my mum could call home.

This care home exceeded my expectations. All of the staff really care. It surprised me how much attention they gave my nan and you could tell that they genuinely cared about her. She started to need more and more assistance, but they still found the time to spend 20 minutes helping her eat her lunch.
This care home I would say is more for people who are less physically able, but they do have a nice garden area for some fresh air. Also, the care home is in a really nice and quiet location.
It's not like living in a 5-star hotel, but with the resources they seem to have available, I think they do a very decent job. The different levels of staff and management are also very approachable, allowing you to discuss any requests or issues. They also don't hold you to specific visiting hours making it feel more like you can pop in and out at your convenience and makes it feel more like it's their home.

My wife has been in the home for nearly two years with dementia. This has been a relief for me and my family. The main reason is the staff, not only do they care for me and my family, they show a very caring attitude to my wife who is now in a helpless state and I am very happy with the way they cope
with a very difficult situation.

All the staff have been excellent. I was worried when Mum moved in but every effort was made to help her settle. She now seems happy and relaxed. If she is well then it takes a lot of pressure off me and my sister knowing she is safe and well looked after.

In the few months Mum has been at the home we have been super impressed. She has settled in really well. Her room is lovely and spacious. The staff are really kind and courteous and treat Mum really well. The activities organised by the home are brilliant and Mum is getting involved and enjoying them.

Mum entered Ashfield House in August 2024. During the last 6 months, I have been very pleased with the care she has received. Mum has a good routine. She has a choice of meals every day. Drinks and snacks are offered between meals. There are a number of different activities available for her most mornings,
which she can take part in if she wishes. There are visits from children of various ages which I know mum enjoys. Pets are allowed to visit. Mum can choose to have lunch with other residents or in her room.
When arriving at Ashfield, we are always greeted by friendly faces and often offered a drink. I've always witnessed the care staff treating all residents in a friendly, caring and dignified manner. The rooms are not very big but they are adequate, with an ensuite toilet. Cleanliness could be improved a little, but on the whole is ok. A doctor visits regularly.
I am so pleased that we chose Ashfield House as it is a 'home from home' and Mum is happy there!
