Review of

Paternoster House

from George E (Son of Resident) published on 31 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Mum began living in the Paternoster Nursing Care Home in early January. She has dementia which has progressed rapidly and she has lost all mobility. Her needs are intense.
The staff at Paternoster have been incredibly friendly and supportive to Mum, and to our family. They've allowed us to decorate
Mum's room so it feels very much like home.
Every time we visit Mum, we are struck by the friendly, secure, family atmosphere in the home - and that goes for not just the staff but the other residents. It is a happy place. Dogs and other pets are welcome to visit, and there are activities such as music with the amazing charity Mindsong which Mum enjoys.
We are very confident in the level of professional care being provided for Mum at Paternoster, and grateful to those providing it.

Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Paternoster House

Thank you so much for a truly wonderful review. It really is a pleasure caring for your mum, she's an absolute star. The team here will be thrilled to read how highly you rate our care and the activities we have. We want Paternoster to have a home-from-home feel and that we are one, happy family. If there is anything else we can do for your mum, please let us know and we will be happy to do so. Once again, thanks for your very kind words, it really means the world to us.

Grevill House and Ashley Intermediate Care Centre

After suffering a stroke, my husband came to Grevill House totally dependent on others for every aspect of his life. He could do nothing for himself. The care provided by the nursing staff and care assistants was exceptional. They were always cheerful and tried to engage with him in any way possible.
He was extremely well looked after and treated kindly and with compassion by all. I was always made to feel welcome and any request was acted upon immediately. I cannot speak highly enough of the care provided by Grevill House.

Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Grevill House and Ashley Intermediate Care Centre

Thank you so much for your very kind words about our home, the team and the care you received. It really does mean everything to us. It was a real pleasure caring for your husband. Very best wishes to you all.

A massively welcoming Care/Nursing Home which is fulfilling all expectations. Excellent management and nursing staff and very nice carers who always have time for you. Also it is great that animals are very welcome and that visits can take place at any time. Sadly my wife is immobile so she is unable
to participate in activities but I understand she will be visited in her room by the Mindsong team.

Thank you for the lovely, kind words. The team will be so thrilled to read how friendly and supportive you see us. These are the most amazing compliments. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for your wife and you. It really would be our pleasure.

from S K (Friend of Resident) published on 27 January 2025

The care home had been transformed into a winter wonderland. It all looked magical, from the porch to the entrance hall and lounges. They captured the excitement and joy of the season. The entertainment was excellent with visits from local schools and chorus. My friend was able to invite his brothers
to the pre-Christmas party and his disabled son was invited to spend Christmas Day with his dad. This visit meant so much to both of them. The staff ensured they both had a very special time. The staff went that extra mile to ensure everyone celebrated in music, fun, food and friendship.

Staff at Monkscroft once again made Christmas a special time, gave gifts and spread happiness among the residents. Most notably, family members were included in the Christmas dinner, where they had booked in advance. The opportunity to join a family member at the dinner table on Christmas Day was most
unusual and very much appreciated. Mum's day was very much happier for it. The food was excellent, and we even had a choice, Mum chose the salmon, which was moist and delicious. The cook deserves a commendation for cooking for so many people and providing such excellent fayre.
Many thanks to all concerned, especially in the kitchen.

Jubilee Lodge

from S D (Friend of Resident) published on 6 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My friend has been a resident at Jubilee Lodge for a little while now and I haven't seen her so settled and happy for a long time - it's a joy to see. The staff, although always very busy, go above and beyond every day and always with a smile on their faces. The manager and deputy are always available
to talk through any questions and nothing ever seems too much trouble. It's always a daunting time when a loved one needs to go into care but Jubilee made the transition so easy and any fears were dispelled very early on. From the moment you walk through the door, you are greeted with a smile, the home looks and smells clean and really well looked after. The only downside I would say that she has commented on is the food could be a little more varied, but that is a small price to pay for knowing she is well looked after and ultimately, happy. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Jubilee Lodge to anyone.

Reply from Rowen Campbell, on behalf of the team at Jubilee Lodge

Review of

Windsor Street Care Centre

from Ian S (Son of Resident) published on 23 December 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My father moved in to Windsor Street Care Centre with my stepmother in 2020, which was a difficult time for everyone but from the first day the staff took time and trouble to help them settle. Dad had Alzheimer's and received really outstanding care throughout his illness. He used to say it was like
staying in a hotel but with people there all the time to look after him.
I also saw my step mums health and wellbeing improve as the staff helped her so sensitively to let go of the need to care for Dad herself.
Perhaps most importantly the end of Dad's journey was also a very special time. The staff worked hard to make sure he was well cared for right up to the end and the communication with the rest of the family was sensitive and timely. He was content to the end and had a peaceful passing.
We had his wake at Windsor Street too, which was another very special occasion for all of us, with very personal support from the whole team at Windsor St.
Thanks to everyone for all of this.

Reply from Rowen Campbell, on behalf of the team at Windsor Street Care Centre

We are all so sorry for your loss. It was a privilege to be able to care for your father, and your stepmother, and it was an honour to have his wake here too.
