A wonderful care home, with fantastic staff. The setting is a beautiful building with amazing surroundings and garden. The residents' rooms (flats) are spacious, airy, great views, a real home from home. A lovely large residents lounge, dining/games room, with home touches everywhere. The staff are
caring, friendly and provide the gold standard in care. Extremely varied activities with something to suit everyone, from gardening to crafting, baking to reading, music to table top games and much more. Group activities and one to one. Everyone works so hard and more, to provide residents with care, respect, happiness and dignity. Highly recommend.

After eight weeks in hospital my mum moved into St Wilfrid's, she has now been there for two months. The transition from living independently was smooth and from the moment she arrived she was made to feel very welcome. All of the staff are very friendly, polite, caring and compassionate. I am so happy
that she has settled into her new home and is content and happy.

I am so very happy that my mother is a resident of St Wilfrid's. She likes the staff, the environment and the activities - she also enjoys the food even eating some dishes she would have declined in the past. My wife and I see that she is tremendously well cared for and her room, in fact, all areas,
are kept very clean and hygienic such that we have no concern about infections. Her health is closely monitored and the staff keep us in the picture when occasionally due to her age something goes awry. St. Wilfrids is a cheerful and friendly home. The staff are all very personable, and the management is very efficient and accommodating such that nothing is too much trouble; they have regular relative meetings and the management listen and respond to any questions or concerns that are raised and based on the most recent meeting I would say that in the eyes of the relatives present everything seems to be running really well. I have no hesitation in recommending St Wilfrid's.

I have found the manager to be very kind to my relative, helpful to myself and positively responsive and dynamic in her approach to dealing with residents' various requirements and demands as well as providing quality of life-enhancing events.
The home itself is gentle and has a lovely, easily accessible
garden.

The moment we walked into St Wilfried's, my sister and I thought we'd found the perfect place for Mum. It's small, friendly and personal, and the building itself helps it feel like a real home - not an institution. Many of the staff have been here for years, so there's a great sense of continuity and
any issues are quickly resolved.

My brother has been a resident at St Wilfrid's for over three years and is extremely happy there. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and he is well looked after. He looks at St Wilfrid's as his home, and the staff, as his extended family.
The activities coordinator has found extra activities
to suit his needs, and he loves going into the beautiful garden when the weather allows. He also tells me that the food is excellent!
We're delighted that he's so happy at St Wilfrid's, so a big thank you to all the wonderful staff!

The whole experience, from looking around, welcoming Dad into the home, the care whilst he was there, and the compassion when he died, was excellent. The staff were kind and attentive and made sure they knew each resident's individual needs.
When a family member needs care that can't be provided at
home, it is a really hard decision to come to. At St Wilfrid's we were able to feel confident that Dad was being looked after by such a wonderful group of staff.
I highly recommend this care home.

St Wilfrid's Priory is built in the same way as the castle. The care home is a lovely home for those who have to leave their home.
The Priory has a big, lovely garden in which you are able to sit and enjoy the sunshine. There are many rooms which are lovely and you are able to make it in a way which
makes you happy and where you are able to find peace.
The manager here at St Wilfrid's Priory is a lovely person, and she is able to listen when you need to talk with somebody. She wishes very much to help you with anything you need help with anything. She wishes very much to help you with everything so that you
are happy and well.
The carers here at St Wilfrid's are very good. A group of lovely people who wish to help you with everything and look after you in a lovely way.

We came to visit a friend of my brother's as they were together for 33 years. The staff were so welcoming and had a welcome cup of tea after a two-hour journey. The residents all seem very happy, and he said the food was excellent and the activities.

Mum stayed for 8 weeks and was well cared for during her stay. All the staff are professional yet friendly. Nothing was too much bother, and they went out of their way to accommodate Mum's needs. I would not hesitate to use the Priory again should Mum need more respite care.

My husband was transferred from the hospital after a stroke in September 2021. He needed a lot of care and attention, which I was not able to give him because of my own health and age problems. He had lots of falls due to his poor health. I was happy he was in a safe place as it was impossible for me
to lift him when he fell.

Having the privilege of being allowed to be an essential caregiver for my relative over recent months, I have been witness to the unstinting kindness of the staff at St Wilfred’s. I cannot praise highly enough the care they gave to my relative and for the kindness shown to me and other family members
also. I have also gained insight into how hard these amazing people work - and that they manage to do it with such humour (the vast majority of the time) is well, almost saintly.
I want to thank them for the seen and, perhaps more significantly, all of the unseen ways they looked after my relative with tenderness, warmth and compassion.
The staff really became a second family for my relative, and I genuinely feel the same way; respect and love are what I feel for them - they are a truly exceptional team, and no superlative is wasted on them. I thank them all from the bottom of my heart; they are extraordinary and wonderful human beings.

The staff (except for one lady) were lovely and very kind as far as they were able. Very short staffed - only three carers for 19-people! Unfortunately, because of carers having to care for a lot of the residents who were bedridden and whom many had Alzheimer's, they had little time to take care of
my husband - not their fault! Food wonderful. Plumbing dreadful.

We were placed in a difficult distressing position by existing home care providers who showed no compassion or understanding. Fortunately, I had been in contact with the manager at St Wilfrid's Priory over the previous few months. At very short, we have been able to move my mother into the Priory for
a month of respite care whilst we reassess her situation. The manager has provided support and assistance when we most needed it.

My brother was transferred to St Wilfrid's in September 2020 following a month's stay in the hospital where he was diagnosed with a malignant inoperable brain tumour. We did not choose St Wilfrid's ourselves. The residential home was selected by Social Service when it became necessary for my brother
to leave the hospital in the midst of the pandemic. I live near Bristol, which meant adding almost half an hour each way to my journey. Having said this, I can not think that any residential home would have been more caring to my brother in his final months. The staff were always happy to talk about him when I was unable to visit due to Covid restrictions, and they were also quick to telephone me if any matters had arisen concerning my brother's well being.
My visits to see him was always conducted in a safe manner, and all staff I encountered were cheerful and helpful to me to ensure that our meetings derived maximum benefit to all parties.
