A close friend has recently moved to this care home and I am pleased with the choice they made. The home is very welcoming as soon you walk in, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere puts you at ease. You can see the other residents enjoying their daily lives and it is clear that Southbourne Beach

Since my mother moved here she is healthier and happier than ever before. It is a relief to me to know that my mother is being well looked after and that she is encouraged to be independent. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I particularly appreciate all the activities that are planned (everyday!).
My mother has more friends and variety in her life now than ever before. Also it is very clean here. I cannot recommend this home enough!

Elstree View Care Home - Avery Collection

from R M (Relative of Resident) published on 10 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My relative has moved into Elstree View Care home in early March when she was discharged from a recent admission to hospital. The whole process has been brilliant. All the staff that I have met so far are friendly, helpful and welcoming. The admission process was done so efficiently - from viewing the
Home to admission was less than a week. Her care has been exemplary. The food is plentiful and tasty with good choice. The building, communal areas and individual rooms are beautiful - freshly decorated with continuing decorating happening in some areas. The entertainment is varied and staff help her to become involved in activities, if she wishes. The clinical and medical care is regular and far easier to access than when she was at home. We feel she is much better looked after 24/7 and much safer in the Home than with a carer in her own home.

My sister has been a resident at this care facility for many years. She is now going through a particularly difficult phase of her life. I find that the standard of care is exceptionally good. The staff treat her with compassion and empathy. I am regularly updated.

Dukes Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare

from John P (Son of Resident) published on 10 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Mum was in Dukes Court for a number of years and was very happy there. Mums needs changed during her stay and the team accommodated those changes readily. Looking after vulnerable and frail elderly adults is a difficult job and support (in all forms) from the immediate family helps to smooth any issues
and in Dukes Court the whole of the management, wellbeing and care teams work hard to keep the residents happy and healthy. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dukes Court as a residential care home.

Reply from Claire Keen, Home Manager at Dukes Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare

Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. It was an absolute pleasure to care for Mum, and she will be missed dearly. I will pass your kind words on to our team at Dukes Court.

A really hard family decision last June to move my mum to a care home but we found Virginia Water Care Home and decided it was a lovely place for mum to call home. The care that she has received has been exceptional. We can't fault anything about the home. Always a warm welcome.

Southampton Manor Care Home - Avery Collection

from Karen D (Daughter of Resident) published on 9 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My Mother lived her for over 5 years, in assisted care and then reminiscence floor. The home is very lovely but more importantly the staff here really care about the residents. They treat them with kindness and dignity. They get to know each resident as an individual, finding out what makes them happy
so they can talk to them about all the things that interest them and their past - they do everything they can to make it feel like home for them. In the many years that I have visited Mum they have all been kindness itself to me and the family.
Sadly my Mother passed away very recently after being ill for about 4 weeks. The care and love they gave her was exceptional, they looked after her so well nothing was too much trouble. They really loved her and she really loved them - we couldn't have asked for more.
Through this very sad and distressing time they supported us too, we too received support sympathy and love.
Thank you all so much you made a very difficult time easier to bear.

Reply from Karen Searle, General Manager at Southampton Manor Care Home - Avery Collection

It was a privilege to have met and been able to care for your mother during the time she was part of our community. Being able to build relationships with families through their time with us is equally important as its by working together we will always see the best results.Thank you for your kind words which will be shared with the whole team at Southampton Manor.

I visit my mum once a week and am amazed at the amount of activities she has done each week, from flower arranging to making hats or advents to dressing up for world book day. She really enjoys all the activities and likes telling me about them. The staff are wonderful at encouraging her but she doesn't
need much encouragement! The staff come up with wonderful ideas to keep all the residents active. Brilliant.

My father moved into Esher Manor following surgery for a replacement hip and being unable at well over 90 to be able to look after himself independently any longer. His move in was well-managed, and he was immediately made welcome by both staff and other residents. He has enjoyed the sociability of
Esher Manor and many of the activities. Regrettably, his health has more recently declined, but the levels of care and attention have been excellent.

Merlin Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare

from m c (Daughter of Resident) published on 8 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Finding this hidden gem of a care home for mum almost 3 years ago was such a huge relief! It is a truly wonderful family home-from-home and I look forward to my regular visits, always assured of a cheerful reception from happy staff and residents within a beautiful setting. The new manager has had
a massively positive impact: staff morale is noticeably high and the bespoke care they provide each resident is exceptional. The home is light, modern and fresh; warm and welcoming; with the sound of chatter, activity, music and laughter throughout. The sunny atrium bistro, gardens, and full and varied menus and activity calendars are particular highlights. The maintenance and housekeeping staff take real pride in their jobs and provide an excellent service, be it re-arranging personal bedroom furniture and wall pictures to suit residents on Day 1 to promptly labelling and laundering clothes. I cannot recommend this Home, the staff and the level of care more highly, and I do so regularly!

Reply from Caron Dixon, Care Home Manager at Merlin Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare

Thank you so very much for your very touching review of our Home. Mum is the most special lady and each and every one of us, adore her. As you know, the house is always full of fun and laughter and Mum enjoys very much the company of others. We really do try to deliver the very best and warmest of care to our amazing residents. Staff are encouraged to recognise and respond to the individuality of each person in our care. We are truly one big family, with a wonderful home environment. Staff, residents and relatives alike work together to ensure the Home is consistently developing and improving in all areas of our service delivery. Thank you for all your wonderful support.

West Wood Care Home - Avery Collection

from C T (Daughter of Resident) published on 8 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My father spent time in West Wood Care Home after being discharge from hospital. Initially he was very anxious and confused but as his health improved he became more relaxed and settled. All the staff at West Wood were so kind to dad and all our family. They would sit and chat to dad if he didn't
feel good, nothing was too much trouble. Dad loved going to the dining room and choosing his breakfast each morning and the kitchen staff were so friendly and patient with him. He would often talk about the lovely nursing and care staff including night staff who would wash and dress him in the morning. Although dad was happy to go home, his experience at West Wood was very good, which he loves to tell his friends!

Reply from Erica Miners, Home Manager at West Wood Care Home - Avery Collection

Thank you so much for your review. We were all so happy to hear that your Dad is doing so well being back at home. Thank you for the painted picture that was left, this will be cherished by all of us and also the biscuits left for the team. We are always here if any further support is needed, Dad is always welcome.

Review of

Highcliffe Care Home - Avery Healthcare

from Ian S (Son of Resident) published on 8 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

What can I say about the staff at Highcliffe Care Home.
We were saddened to have to move Dad into care after a fall in 2023, and it was a tough decision we had to make as a family. How do we choose? He had been self-dependent until the age of 93.

When we visited the home for the first time, it

had a warm and homely feel, which was confirmed once we moved Dad in.

I recommend Highcliffe to anyone thinking about doing the same.
Why?
The staff are always lovely.
They made Dad feel really special.
The activities are great for those who want to participate, and they include many external trips.
It is always immaculate in all areas.
Like all things in life, we had a few teething problems initially, but once they understood Dad and he was settled, as a family, we could all sleep peacefully in our beds, knowing he was safe.

Dad passed in January, and all I can say is thank you to everyone for making Dad's last few years as comfortable and safe as they could be.

Reply from Stacey Lennon, Home Manager at Highcliffe Care Home - Avery Healthcare

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback of the care home at Highcliffe Care Centre. I am glad to hear the team made your father feel special we try our best to ensure we provide person centred care! I'm also glad we made your family feel reassured as we understand how hard it is for families to have their parent in care. Your father is a miss to the Highcliffe 'family', such a lovely gentleman and a pleasure to care for. We also value your recommendation to others regarding potential stays with us here at Highcliffe! I will be sure to share this with the team, and I know they will find this motivational. Warmest regards, Highcliffe Care team.
