My father has only recently moved to Hazleford and we have all been blown away by what a positive experience it has been. The staff and manager are simply brilliant, working so hard and showing real genuine kindness - not a skill that can be faked. Even the maintenance man introduced himself to me and
had a chat - I was made to feel so welcome. The fact that family are welcome any time is so reassuring.
The building is old, but lovely and most importantly clean and fresh smelling. His room is great, and he is loving the food - I don't know if all care homes give 2 choices for lunch, but I was quite envious !
Overall, the team at Hazleford have taken what was a difficult stress filled situation for us, and made it positive. Thank you

My husband spent his final days here and the care was excellent. He was kept, very comfortable in an immaculately clean, warm room and treated with great respect by the staff. All of his needs were dealt with carefully and promptly. My family and I were always welcomed in a very positive way and staff
gave us time to answer any questions we had. We couldn't have asked for a better place for his final days.

The Hazelford Residential Home

from D N (Son of Resident) published on 17 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

During the six months that my father has been at Hazelford, I cannot fault the care he is receiving. The entire team make sure that not only he, but that the family, are involved in every aspect of his wellbeing and are supported through changes. As his needs become greater so does his care. The recent
evaluation of the residents due to the risk of flooding must have been very difficult for all concerned and thanks again must go to the staff for minimising the effect on the residents and re-assuring them. We were updated as to not only where my father was being transferred, but very regularly given news on how he was settling.
As a family we could not ask for more. Thank you to the entire Hazelford staff for your compassion and devotion and helping not only my father but the whole family through this time.

My Mum has only been at Hazelford since late December, but the manager and carers know her so well and show her so much care and attention. I'm amazed at how much effort the team put in to really get to know Mum and make sure they meet her needs.
Yes, the building could do with the attention, although
clear but it's the care that makes this place special.
If it was a hotel and judged on this alone it would be a 5-star! Thank you so much.

After having a bad experience with professional carers in my home. I was very cautious of where I wanted my wife to be places. My wife suffers from dementia and has peritoneal dialysis every day. I was looking for a nursing home that was exceptionally clean because of the dialysis but with nurses who
understood their patient's needs.
Having met the manager and her staff I had no doubt in my mind that my wife would be in the best possible hands and would receive the right attention she required.

St Michael's Nursing and Residential Home

from Andy H (Next of Kin) published on 31 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

The two managers are good managers, they make me feel most welcome. My poor mum can no longer do things for herself bless her. Mum has been like this some time. Most staff work hard one member of staff in particular always makes me a lovely coffee. The home is having new windows and doors so out with
the wood in with the plastic. They have started work on this and they now have a lovely front door. Please close the door behind you please. They also now have a wonderful garden. Lovely handy man kindly worked on this for free, thanks so much. Bedrooms have just been done up.
The cost of the home for loved one is quite expensive, mind you they all are. With my mum's it's all coming from the house when the valuation go's down too half the rest should go to the family etc, the law needs changing. So please think before you put your loved one in care, myself had no choice.
I recommend St Michael's Nursing and Residential Home. Hope this is of some help, I love it, please give me a thumbs up, kind regards.

First, I must apologise for not submitting a review earlier, I have been meaning to but just not got round to doing it. I know how important reviews can be when someone is looking for a home for their loved one. My Mum was at White Gables from November 2023 until March 2024. All of the staff were friendly
and caring, always with a smile. My father used to visit every day in the afternoon and they always made him a cup of tea when on their busy rounds and took the time to talk to him too and ensure that he was coping. My Mum received the best care, she was always clean and dressed and took part in activities, such as making Christmas decorations, which she enjoyed. Sadly, Mum passed away in March 2024. She was treated with such care and dignity in her final days and we could not have asked for more from the staff. It is a lovely care home in pleasant surroundings.
