I am pleased to provide a review for St Peter's House Care Home. Since my husband has been a resident and I was unable to care for him because of my own poor health I cannot fault any of the staff for the way he is looked after. Any problems he has had have been dealt with with kindness, efficiently
and with dignity. His needs have been discussed with the appropriate staff as soon as possible. I have no need to worry about him when I have visited and I am well informed.

Woodleigh Care Home

from Elaine T (Wife of Resident) published on 10 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

We found Woodleigh in our darkest hour, the manager saw beyond the complications and difficulties we faced and embraced us, not just my husband, all of us including the four legged members of my husband's life. Woodleigh is a place of great care, laughter, acceptance and love.
Those who staff this
home, make it just that....a home, they see beyond the condition and find the person.
Lead by kind and, I'm my opinion, inspirational management, the nursing proved up to date but with old values, keeping the resident in the centre of care, support staff work hard but never at the expense of the residents, so kind.
The food is lovely and never too much trouble, the laundry cared for the residents clothes carefully and the home is kept clean and fresh....then there is the star of Woodleigh..Oscar the cat who does his rounds bringing smiles to all.
Is Woodleigh perfect..thank goodness no!...homes are just that....a home.
Thank you to all, for all you did.

We, as a family, are so very lucky to have the peace of mind that Mum is here, being cared for by a team that has real compassion for all the residents and relatives. No concern or worry about my mum and her health is ever too much, the manager is always on hand to talk about Mum for which is am grateful
and last week put things in place instantly after a conversation concerning Mum's dementia. This works really well being able to pop in and see the manager, it puts my mind at rest. I have confidence in her and her team when it's the care of my mum, then it's priceless.

I visit my nana roughly once per month, the facilities are always clean and welcoming, and the staff are kind, approachable and informative with updates about nana's condition and also what activities have been going on. The staff are smiley and able to keep the atmosphere light, which I feel is a necessary
skill when my nana's mood can shift so suddenly with her dementia. My nana is on the nursing floor, the nurses in particular are very knowledgeable with her conditions.

You will always receive a friendly reception when you arrive. All the staff from all areas of St. Peters are kind, caring and helpful. All the staff are approachable. My father has had a very challenging year with many different health problems and not wanting to eat. All staff have been caring and
patient with him. They have kept me informed regarding his care and any treatment required and have taken the time to prepare the foods he will eat. I am pleased to see him taking part in the activities again especially when there is music involved. I know he is happy at St. Peters, safe and well cared for.

After a tough battle in hospital following a deterioration to my Grandads health and a battle with Cancer over the past 12 months prior to his hospital admission, my Grandad was informed that the Cancer had returned and he was too frail to receive treatment and he had a few months to live. Despite his
wishes to return home, this sadly was not possible. His wishes were then to get out of the hospital to pass away peacefully. Thanks to the management team at Verulam House, we were able to make this possible. Although my Grandad sadly passed not even a week later, he received amazing care and treatment and he passed away as dignified and peacefully as possible and that is down to the care and treatment that he kindly received. Myself and family are most thankful to the team, not only for supporting my Grandad but for the care and support given to us as a family also.

Throughout my father's stay at Churchill House Care Home, he has been treated with warmth, friendship, respect and consideration. The staff are outstanding both in the support of my father and communications with the family. My father would be described as a character with his own peculiar needs. The
staff did their very best to accommodate his needs and treat him as an individual. His final days were spent being treated with dignity and sensitivity. We could not have asked for better care and would recommend this care home to anyone.

My father's Alzheimers was making life difficult in his own home. The process of deciding where (and when) to move him was one of the hardest decisions I've had to make. With time to now reflect, Argentum Court has provided the hoped-for safe, calm and caring place he needs. Such a change of scene has
taken time for him to settle but all the staff - from senior management down - have gently and sympathetically helped and encouraged him to now feel at home.

My Mother had her 99th birthday this month and the home allowed us to have a private family get-together in the family room. Mother so enjoyed seeing us all. It really made her day special.
It would not have been possible without the support, input and hard work of so many members of staff. Thank you
all so much for making the day special. A special word of thanks goes to the chef who made the birthday cake as well as the inventiveness of the balloon blower/designer.
As a family, we are so happy that we managed to find Argentum Lodge. The friendliness of the staff has made the settling in for Mother so much easier.
A happy team stems from management which from our vantage point is excellent. All the hard work put in by everyone at Argentum is really appreciated. Thank you.
