Overall Experience

My brother was placed at St Mary's 1.5 years ago, he has a severe brain injury at the age of 44. I can't compliment the team at St Mary's enough, they are so dedicated to their residents and go above and beyond for them. They are also super supportive to the families who are trying to navigate a difficult

situation to support their loves ones. The manager of Stephenson ward is so fantastic, sharing a wealth of knowledge and going the extra mile for my brother everyday.

Overall Experience

My sister went into St Mary's at the end of December on the Fern unit. She has settled extremely well. All the carers go above and beyond for all their residents in their care. I feel so lucky my sister got a place here. Always a friendly welcome each visit. The home is clean and well-maintained. The

staff are all approachable and always keep me informed of how my sister is doing.

Overall Experience

My Nan recently gained a place at St Mary's. The staff and level of care is truly amazing, I never dreamt that Nan would settle so well, and am so grateful to all who have helped. The food is fantastic and the wing is spotlessly clean. Thank you St Mary's for your help at a difficult time for our family.

Overall Experience

My husband who has complex needs settled in very quickly at St Mary's which was a comfort to all concerned. From day one the care he receives has been excellent with all staff being very upbeat, pleasant and very friendly with nothing too much trouble, going out of their way to ensure he is safe and

comfortable and the family are also looked after when visiting. The catering is excellent, home-cooked food, with choices available if required. The cleaning staff do an excellent job keeping everywhere spotlessly clean. I would wholeheartedly recommend St Mary's.

My nanna went into hospital on Thursday last week and while we were there a carer sat with her all day. She had a really lovely caring approach and I was really grateful to have her there. She is obviously very passionate and caring in her role and we wanted to say thank you.

Overall Experience

My mum has just become a resident at St Mary's after 14 weeks in hospital. She is 90 with dementia so I was extremely anxious for her to go into nursing care. The staff at St Mary's have gone above and beyond to alleviate my worries as the patience, care and kindness they have shown to Mum are second

to none. Mum is in the Forshaw Unit, it is spotlessly clean and always has a lovely atmosphere when I visit. I would recommend it to anyone if they are looking for the most caring place for their loved ones.

Overall Experience

My mother has been resident for 4 years. The standard of care is excellent the staff treat her as if she was one of their own family. Her room is very spacious and always clean.
I can't imagine my mother anywhere else. Many thanks to all staff on the Rose Unit. Go above and beyond.

What can I say St Mary's Care Home and all of the staff have gone over and above for my brother. The line of communication is great and I find the staff on Rose Unit really know my brother and are willing to go that extra mile. I have no concerns at all and they certainly deserve the credit.

My sister-in-law has been really looked after very well since coming to the home. They take her out regularly and has a good social life. All of the care staff are really good at their jobs and we can't praise them enough. We visit once a week and are always made welcome.

Overall Experience

My mum went into St Mary's Care Centre on the 26th of February and I can only say the care she has received on the Forshaw unit has been 100%. The nurses and the carers have looked after my mum with compassion and dignity which has made me so happy, knowing she is in a safe environment, nothing has

been a problem for them even when my mum became more seriously ill. When visiting Mum I've seen the compassion the carers have towards all the residents on the unit.
It was a pleasure to see my mum happy and settled, and knowing she was well looked after and safe helped me relax.
Also, I was kept up to date with her progress and development within the activities.
I never thought my mum would settle in a care centre as she wasn't happy to be away from her home, but she was happy.
So a massive thank you to all the staff at St Mary's Care Centre.

Overall Experience

I have worked in health care for 33 years.
Started in elderly care in private nursing homes as an HCA in the 1990s.
Currently working in the N.H.S. for 25 years, in different roles but understand/know the difference between a good/OK care home.
St Mary's doesn't smell when you arrive, (other than

home-cooked food), safeguarding is excellent, rooms are spotlessly clean and staff know their residents.

Overall Experience

My dad has been living at St Mary's Forshaw unit since November 2023. Dad's health condition has deteriorated but the care, kindness and love the staff show to my dad and the other residents is absolutely remarkable. They genuinely care about all of the residents, they treat all of the residents as

individuals and I am so thankful to everyone at St Mary's for taking such good care of my dad and doing such a wonderful job, wonderful teamwork, wonderful staff thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My dad moved into St Mary's Continuing Care in February 2024. The place is so welcoming we instantly felt at home and part of the St Mary's family. The staff are absolutely amazing in the way they deal with my dad and the other residents. They always have time to chat and they always have a smile on

their faces. They absolutely love what they do.

Overall Experience

St Mary's is a friendly, clean, loving care home where my dad resided for fifteen years. The care and support he got from all the staff was exceptional. They looked after him with dignity and respect until he sadly passed this year. They helped me tremendously to arrange his funeral and I could never

thank them enough. I would recommend St Mary's to anyone who has a loved one who needs specialist care.

Overall Experience

Mum has recently moved to St Mary's from a residential home. Couldn't be more happier. Excellent care from all staff and a great atmosphere around the home. Very clean, and the food looks lovely. Nothing is too much trouble. Mum always looks clean and tidy and is very happy. Staff always take time to

tell me what Mum has been doing and are always available for any questions. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend St Mary's, from the moment we viewed it until now, everyone has gone the extra mile.

Overall Experience

I feel all staff relate to the people they care for with compassion and good humour. They have accommodated my sister's requirement as a vegetarian. The activities provided are a lifeline for my sister who loves music and other creative activities. The staff deal with any queries professionally and

in a timely way. At St Mary's you witness all that is good in human nature.
