My mum was in Charlton Park Care Home ans was so well looked after by all the care nurses and staff, it was always a pleasure meeting one member of staff in particular who was a pleasure to speak too. Then my mum peacefully passed away and I was pleasantly surprised to receive a phone call from Admin
that her gold ring was carefully put away, which I was totally unaware of, such honesty is so remarkable. So pleased with this care home. My love to all the staff and fabulous admin office.

My wife was transferred to Charlton Park Care Home from hospital. She was only in the care home for 36 hours before my dear wife passed away. In that time they washed her hair, which they had not done in 3 months at hospital. As a result of this and the care received I decided to volunteer at the Care
Home and have been here since 2018 6 years.

Kingston Care Home

from Kim T (Daughter of Resident) published on 31 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Our mum came to live at Kingston Care Home in 2020. Due to Covid, and the lockdown she didn't settle too well, but she was suffering from dementia and had been in the same home looking after herself for many years. However the staff were amazing and made her feel as welcome and as loved and cared for
as they could and she soon seemed to settle. My sister and I were thankful that our mum was being given the 24/7 care she needed and we cannot fault the help that she was given and the communication we had in helping to decide what sort of care was appropriate at each stage. Unfortunately, mum died in February, and my sister and I didn't get there in time to be with her however one of the carers held her hand in those final moments so she was not on her own.
Many thanks to you all.

I cant speak more highly of Maple Lodge.
The are home is very well run. Managers are accessible and approachable. They are as concerned about my friends welfare as I am. They create an atmosphere of home form home.
My friend couldn't be happier. She is treated as an individual, always with respect,
dignity and concern. All staff, at all levels, make a point of getting to know her. I have equally good relationships with office and support staff as carers. Maple Lodge is a family and deserves the accolades it has achieved.

Riverside Court Care Home

from Andy S (Son of Resident) published on 26 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My dad was admitted to Riverside Court in early February , he made his own enquiries about staying and after chatting with the manager he was so looking forward to staying.
From day 1 the staff were phenomenal. The professionalism, the knowledge and experience of the nurses, carers, support staff
coupled with their unbelievable kindness is something I have never experienced in any establishment before. We talk about the NHS being heroes during Covid but all these people at Riverside Court are just as much heroes as the NHS workers were. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and this really made my dads short stay as comfortable as possible during his illness.
I wouldn't hesitate recommending this nursing home to anyone in the future . I am so pleased my dads last few weeks were spent here, I couldn't have wished for any better place.
Thank you so much , it means a lot . Keep up the phenomenal work , you are all amazing.

St Margaret's Care Home

from Dawn C (Daughter of Resident) published on 26 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mum was admitted for end-of-life care the end of January. From the get go, the care mum received was amazing. Every member of staff that looked after mum was highly professional and genuinely seemed to care about her.
When she deteriorated we were invited to stay with her and contact anyone else
who wished to be there. For four nights we, as a family, were overwhelmed by the kindness of the carers and the nursing staff. Nothing was too much effort, we were offered endless refreshments, food and even had cakes made especially for us by the chef.
This made a very difficult time so much easier. When mum passed away we were given time to spend with her, which was so precious. Care homes often get a bad reputation but this totally changed our perspective. We really don't think mum could've been cared for any better. Everyone was wonderful but a special mentions must to seven staff members in particular. We can't thank you all enough.

Reply from Claire Cole, Marketing Assistant at St Margaret's Care Home

The care which my Mam received at Harbour View was simply outstanding. From the very first moment I met with the lovely and understanding Manager I couldn't have felt more reassured and confident that my Mam was going to be looked after brilliantly. The staff are so caring, efficient and welcoming,
nothing was ever too much trouble for them. The bedroom was spotless, with a commanding view over the Harbour, enabling all our family to feel uplifted each time we visited. The food looked and smelled delicious. The staff who looked after Mam were so charming to her that she instantly felt at home. Medication was professionally administered and we were regularly informed of Mam's condition. This is a fantastic establishment; I cannot speak too highly of the loving and respectful team.

Review of

Northlea Court Care Home

from Robert C (Son of Resident) published on 17 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 2.0 out of 5

Regards the 2nd stay my Mum had - the 1st being + for her. This time, I'd say, she was traumatised by the stay. Due to 1, possibly 2 people who made her feel very uncomfortable, and if I read her right made her feel like she was a hassle. The person was "in charge" of the ward. I don't know names/shifts.
I know she was traumatised as she has told all and sundry about her experience, from SS to the Memory Clinic, and us - until we know it by heart. I know, she should have told me and I would have dealt with it -100%. We were abroad she didn't want to burden us ,and what would her treatment be like then, from the individual ,once reprimanded - she asked?
I get it -some old people can be a "nuisance" for some carers, set in their ways, slow etc but ,when a person is paying top whack, as she was - better treatment is necessary!! She says she will not return, after this episode. Sad, as she had considered NLea as full time after her 1st visit. Some people in charge, on the ward, need a word?

Reply from Claire Cole, Marketing Assistant at Northlea Court Care Home

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad to hear your mother enjoyed her first stay at Northlea Court, but disappointed we were unable to live up to expectations on the second stay. Our home manager is very concerned about this issue, but without further detail, we are unable to identify a particular event when this occurred. We operate an open door policy and would welcome you to pop in to see our Home Manager. Please don't hesitate to get in touch.
