St Luke's Nursing Home

My mum has been in St Luke's since March this year. We couldn't ask for better care she getting. All staff are so lovely and I know I can go home and I know she is being looked after. The manager has changed this home around.

My mum has recently passed away, but the care at St Patrick's is outstanding, and I would definitely recommend the home.
The home is immaculately clean, and the staff are extremely caring and approachable.

This is a bit of a hard review to write as it was during the pandemic and we never actually got to see inside St Luke's while my dad was a resident. I will though, give my honest opinion of what dealings we had with everyone. My dad was admitted in June 2020, and from the minute I spoke to staff on
the phone, I was really pleased and could tell how efficiently it was being run. I was given full information of how things worked in there and what Dad's room would be like, what unit he would be on and most of all, what care he would receive. Although we only got to see him all be it socially distanced in the garden, we could see Dad was really happy there and the care and attention the staff gave him were excellent. This made my mum feel happy. Sadly dad passed away in November 2020. Thank you to all the staff, you made my dad's final months happy ones when we were unable to be with him. I would definitely recommend St Luke's.

My dad was in St Luke's for 3-years, and the care he received was fantastic. The staff are very good and caring; in the end, they were there for my dad, my sister and my self - I can not thank them enough.

My mother spent her last few weeks in this care home and I was so happy to find such a lovely place for her. The staff were amazing, her room was nice and whenever I visited, I had the feeling that this was a well-run care home where the staff really care. Thanks to all the staff.

Mum has always received the best of care whilst at the home, with any issues (medical or personal) being immediately flagged up to the family by staff. Bedrooms are maintained to a good level, as are the communal areas of the home. The staff are very approachable, friendly and are always professional
when dealing with residents.

My Aunty aged 99 was unable to return home after being in hospital for a few months. My family got involved in choosing her care home and were very careful after having a very bad care home experience a few years ago.
I can not fault Madeline McKenna Court in any way from cleanliness, staff, facilities.
My
aunty is happier there than she was at home.
Keep up the great work.

Millbrow Care Home

I visited two friends - one who is a bedridden stroke victim and was very pleased to see how she was being taken care of. A homely, clean, bright room with clean bed linen. Just wish the staff had popped in more often than they did. As the patient is unable to press the buzzer if needs something. The
staff were very attentive friendly and welcoming. The second friend was in the sitting room and was being taken well care of was nicely dressed in clean clothes - also saw a lady I used to work with some years ago. She was also a stroke victim but could sit in the lounge in the chair. She said she likes it there.

The home is not the most up to date but in terms of care it is second to none. The staff are very friendly and always look to go the extra mile for you.
Considering the job they do on a daily basis and what they have to do with the condition my nan is currently in, they all keep professional but down
to earth and make us feel safe knowing my nan is here.
Credit to the staff.

I'm very happy with the quality of care that yourselves are providing at the home, as every time I visit the home, it has a happy and cheerful atmosphere. The carers are fantastic and the activities that everyone can participate in are wonderful. If I had one problem, it would be I never seem to see
a manager present. The numerous times I've wanted to talk to the manager she is never there but overall a lovely home .

Review of

Millbrow Care Home

from Angela C (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 1 August 2016
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

Having had initial reservations about the home when looking for somewhere for my mother and father-in-law to be cared for, I must say that my opinion has completely changed. The staff are amazing and do a wonderful job looking after and interacting with the residents. The home itself has a more welcoming
feeling since its recent re-decoration and improvements to outdoor facilities. Daily activities are organised and available for residents to join in with.

Possible suggestions for improvement would be:

Better communications with ALL close relatives regarding changes, updates, events, etc. A simple notice board with this information would suffice as not all relatives can visit on a weekly basis or hear about meetings, etc.

Staffing levels to be monitored, particularly upstairs. I often feel my father-in-law looks unkempt. This is not a criticism of the staff as they are fantastic, however they are expected to do so much that there isn't always time to change his clothing, etc.

A very friendly home with a very welcoming atmosphere both by decoration and the staff.
The facilities seem excellent and the new garden pavilion area is fantastic for the residents.
Every time I have visited there are are activities going on which the residents seemed to enjoy taking part in.

I have been visiting my mother in here for about ten years, calling at all times and in that time I have never found anything wrong or worrisome. On the contrary, the staff have always been very kind and cheerful. Baal epitomises these qualities and whilst my mother is in this care home being looked
after by all of the staff, my mind is at rest.
