Number One

When our son was due to leave educational residential care, we had to undertake our own research and evaluation to find him a suitable adult placement.
We identified three facilities that we wanted to visit. We discounted the first two for not having the right ‘feel’, and then we walked into Number
One. Instantly it felt like the home from home that we were looking for. The staff really care about the residents, you can tell it’s a vocation for them rather than a job. Each resident has their own key worker so there is continuity all the time. The extra curricular activities that they plan include things such as football, gym, swimming, dance, disco, and walking. They have access to various art and craft courses at a local college and they arrange holidays a couple of times of year to CentreParcs and Blackpool. Our son who is profoundly deaf has now been at Number One for 14 years and he could not be happier. We could not have found him a better place to satisfy his every need

My son has been a resident for more than 20 years. He is profoundly deaf, has no speech, has severe learning difficulties and autism. Number One (HouseMartins) is a fantastic care home where the dignity of the residents is sacrosanct. They have been fantastic not only in caring for my son but also despite
his autism and other disabilities, have helped and encouraged him to become a happy, loving man who is living a full and enjoyable life - in fact helping him be the best he can be.
The management and staff are wonderful making this a top class care home.

A really excellent facility with exceptional, attentive and caring staff. Brilliantly run and administered. We have had contact with 'Number One' for over 20 years and have always found this to be the case. We have no hesitation in giving a top review, it is well deserved. Residents are treated
with dignity at all times. They all have a safe degree of independent living within their abilities. All staff communicate well in British Sign Language and at all times assist in the further education of residents in the use of British Sign Language.

House Martins Care Ltd Number Two

Our son has been a resident at House Martins Care Ltd. for over twenty-five years.
Our son is profoundly deaf and has autistic traits. We and our son have always had the support of carers and management, for the few problems we have had.
His activities include swimming - football - snooker - zumba
- gym, and are taken on
holiday numerous times. Residents are treated as individuals as they are given a
choice of holidays. Our son comes home every other weekend, they bring him to our house, and we take him back.

House Martins Care Ltd Number Two

The setting is a home from home! It is a homely, welcoming environment in which friends and relatives are made to feel at home when spending time with their loved one.
Staff are friendly, compassionate and caring, going above and beyond for the people in their care. My niece was at her happiest when
living life to the full, thanks to the amazing staff. She was encouraged to explore and enjoy many activities during the years she spent there. She danced, swam and attended youth clubs to name but a few of the activities that filled her days.
During the most difficult of times, our family was supported in the most caring way. Nothing was too much trouble and staff were always available and happy to help, whatever the request.
We cannot praise them enough.

House Martins Care Ltd Number Two

My daughter had the best care anyone could ask for. All the staff and management team were amazing and my daughter was very happy in the years she spent there, it was like a family. There were activities, regular trips out and holidays The staff went above and beyond caring for the residents which was
plain to see. Even when the time came for my daughter to go to a hospice a member of staff stayed with her every day to ensure she was happy and all her needs were met.
The staff were also very supportive and caring with myself and the rest of my family throughout the time she spent there.
I would highly recommend the home to anyone looking for exceptional care for a loved one.
