Milbanke Home for Older People

from Sue H (Daughter of Resident) published on 31 October 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5

My sister told me you had contacted her to tell her our father had had meds withdrawn by a doctor and end-of-life care would be administered. My younger sister was phoned, a voicemail had been left with my brother and I was told Milbanke would contact me, there has been no contact with me. But for my
siblings, I would not know if my father was dead or alive! You have my mobile number as you phoned me to tell me my father had fallen and was going to the hospital. I am disgusted with the way I have been treated.

Beacon View Home for Older People

from Ian P (Son of Resident) published on 23 September 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

We have been nothing but impressed with Beacon View. Having tried other care homes, this is by far the best to meet the needs of my mum. Everyone is so compassionate and understanding. She always received outstanding care. Nothing is too much trouble. Her every need is catered for with the greatest
of dignity. The slightest hint of medical issues are dealt with immediately. The home is extremely well managed with communication being excellent. They go above and beyond compared to other homes.
My mum is very happy at Beacon View and sees it as her forever home, not just respite. It has such a homely atmosphere. Visitors are always welcomed and made to feel part of the Beacon View family. I cannot recommend this home enough. As a family, we are so grateful for everything they do. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all the staff at Beacon View!

I was in Meadowfield for 9 weeks after breaking my hip and got loads of help from occupational therapy and physio. All did a great job. Also, the management and carers who looked after me were excellent.

It's awesome because it gives me a very good break from my family and I have made a lot of friends and an awful lot of fantastic staff around to support me, so thank you.

Meadowfield House Home for Older People

from N W (Grandson of Resident) published on 25 August 2022
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My grandma was in this care home after a fall and stay in hospital, at first we were all nervous about the transition as previously she was independently living at home, however, the care staff were brilliant. Any concerns they would ease, the management staff team are all wonderful and all work towards
providing a common goal of making lives better. The home in itself isn’t the most modern but the staff and office team make up for that which is the most important thing. If I could give 10 stars, I would. You are all an asset to the care industry.

Meadowfield House Home for Older People

from Peter D (Son of Resident) published on 26 July 2021

Poor safety standards for the management of medications for vulnerable residents.
Poor support from qualified individuals in the CHESS team apart from district nurses.
Difficulty getting GP to visit or prescribe and time is taken to obtain an appropriate prescription from the home practice.
Food
options are good.

Review of

Castleford Home for Older People

from Marna Joan W (Friend of Resident) published on 9 April 2020
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I had Power of Attorney for a lady who had dementia. For just over two years she was resident at another care home but as her dementia worsened I was very pleased to be offered a place at Castleford where she lived for nine years. She died on Sunday, 5th April 2020.
The staff have without fail been
caring, kind and thoughtful. She has been extremely well looked after.
Castleford provides clean, comfortable, pleasant accommodation. The staff are kind and efficient. The Management seeks to provide stimulation, entertainment, engagement for all service users. Their health is monitored and cared for.
I have been so pleased to have the confidence that my friend was well provided for and looked after with care.
The Management and Staff have my unending gratitude.

Review of

Dolphinlee House Home for Older People

from Steven C (Son of Resident) published on 6 April 2020
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mum has been on the rehabilitation side of Dolphinlee, since January 2020 and is now a permanent resident there.
Every member of staff in this establishment has been very caring and attentive to her needs.
This establishment is well run by the management and the staff. I personally would say the
CQC need to update their page and listen to people who have family members there. I personally would give this a 5 star in every way, no one is perfect but I can honestly say this care home would be highly recommended to anyone by us. Thank you all for the care and attention you give to not only my mum but all the residents. This care home is clean and caring 100% thanks.
We visit this regularly, and it is always clean.

Woodside Home for Older People

from Judith M (Daughter of Resident) published on 18 December 2017
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Since the day I walked through the doors, unannounced, to view Woodside with my 84-year-old mum, who had a Dementia diagnosis and was now unable to live alone, I have had the most respect and admiration for all of the staff - administrators and caters alike. Woodside is spotless, friendly, run like
a family home, with delicious meals and smiles and jokes between staff and residents. They have patience, understanding and treat my mum as I would myself. They also cope with our big family and army of visitors.
Thank you a million Woodside people.
