The Evergreens Care Centre

from Emma F (Daughter of Resident) published on 11 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I have nothing but praise for this care home, having had a bad experience in a previous respite placement, the team at evergreens i can't fault at all, they've worked with us and my dad to get him back to where his health and wellbeing should be after months of hospital stays and moving to unfamiliar
places, as a person who works in the emergency services and in care I was hesident to place my dad in care but I have no issues at all with the staff or home, his needs are met and he's happy, his dementia is looked after and as a new resident it takes time to get to know someone's moods, personality etc, but the team have got him spot on. It's the little things the team do with regards to support towards family and my dad, which make his time in care better.

Reply from Dan Shutt, Home Manager at The Evergreens Care Centre

Thank you so much for sharing this feedback about The Evergreens. We can imagine the how worrying it must be to take a chance on anywhere after past negative experiences. We are grateful that you took a chance on us and we are glad that we are doing the right things to make your dad's experience as positive as possible. Your comments will be shared with the team and used as positive reinforcement. We do very much appreciate you taking the time for this. Kind regards

Norbury Court

from J G (Friend of Resident) published on 8 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5

Has been a dreadful experience - the home is understaffed, the moral is through the floor.
Food choices are dreadful. The level of care given is in need of a full review. I feel the problems stem from lack of proper management + leadership. Not surprised it was put into special measures.
But a new
manager is now in charge & I feel a change already. The rooms ae cleaner, the smell is reducing + hopefully once she has more time it will be much better for relatives & residents to be there.

Reply from M Benson, Regional Operations Manager at Norbury Court

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry that historically, your experience of our home was not positive. We acknowledge that in the past the service faced significant challenges. However, we are pleased to share that since the appointment of our new manager and new regional operations team, we have made substantial improvements, which we are delighted to say has been recognised in the recent CQC inspection which has just been published: the home is no longer in special measures & has been awarded "Good" in Caring, which reflects the dedication of our staff & the improvements made.We have actively responded to feedback & remain committed to delivering high- quality, person-centred care & we will continue to work hard to ensure this is achieved & sustained. If you would like to discuss your experience further please do not hesitate to contact the new manager directly - we welcome all feedback as part of our journey to ongoing improvement.

Beech Grove

from Alison M (Daughter of Resident) published on 8 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mum has been a resident here since 2018. Her care has been of an extremely high standard throughout this time. The staff who work here regularly are friendly & helpful & the care home itself is managed exceptionally well. I have no worries about leaving Mum here as she is safe & well looked after.
The environment, despite dated, is clean and bright. Mum is quite difficult at times, but the skills & knowledge the staff show makes the whole situation much more pleasant.

Reply from Ana Wilcox, Manager at Beech Grove

Thank you so much for your kind words. Its been a privilege to care for your mum over the past 6 years, and she has truly become an integral part of our Beech Grove family. Were so pleased to hear that she feels safe, well looked after, and that our teams skills and dedication have made her time here more comfortable. Well continue to provide the best possible care and ensure that her environment remains a welcoming place for her. Thank you again for entrusting us with her careit means the world to us.

Dolphin View Care Home

from L R (Daughter of Resident) published on 4 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 2.0 out of 5

Most of the staff and carers seem kind and considerate. There have been three managers in a space of five months! The food seems plentiful. The rooms are basic and dated, however families are allowed to make their relatives room more personal. More communication would be good as to what residents are
up to. My mother suffers with dementia and so does not remember anything to tell us on visits. Surprised to learn that wheelchairs are not proved, and so we had to purchase one. As a relative to a resident we do not have any other experience of care homes but really thought on a whole Dolphin View would be better than we have experienced. However we are extremely grateful for all the staff do. Thank you.

Reply from Vicki Rees, Regional Operations Manager at Dolphin View Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to complete a review. I am sorry to hear that you feel the rooms are dated and that you have experienced poor communication whilst your mother has been in the home. The home is currently being supported daily whilst a new manager is recruited. At this time the home is developing a monthly newsletter for residents & families that include involvement in daily activities, the home has activities boards that display events & activities in the home. Residents with restricted mobility are assessed by the NHS Physio and Occ Health Team to review if a wheelchair is required, this would then be provided by Wheelchair services specific to the person's needs. For H&S reasons we do not supply generic wheelchairs in the home therefore if Occ Health do not feel a wheelchair is required it is the responsibility of the individual or family to provide. If you would like to discuss anything further please contact Dolphin View to arrange a suitable date and time to meet.

This is my 5th visit, easy to access building and check in, everyone welcoming. Rooms always warm. My auntie has moved rooms and it looks fresh. Unfortunately there's always a slight smell of wee. Always some activities for my auntie to join in.

Not enough fluids given throughout day, relative forgets to ask. Lack of visitor chairs. Kind and friendly staff will do anything for mum in law when can.

Church View

Mam has been in Church View Care Home for about 5 months. She was first upstairs and now downstairs. Mam needs 24 hour care and I must say the staff are great. She likes all meals and eats very well (better than when she was at home)
If I did have a complaint it would be about clothes going missing
from the laundry room - but I'm not complaining because it is very difficult. (Mams clothes are all labelled up)

Reply from Honor Keatley, Group Business Development Director at Church View

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. It's great to read that your Mam is enjoying her meals. It really does give loved ones peace of mind to know that their relative is getting the care they need.I will speak to the Home Manager about laundry, thanks for raising it.With best wishes.

The family & I feel there is a great improvement in the care & appearance of Rosemount in the last six months. The manager is very dedicated and caring, who has raised the level of the home since she arrived. The care & domestic staff are very professional and standards have definitely improved.
