I find the home friendly and welcoming. Care and support good. Mum treated with dignity. Staff excellent. Management. Excellent. Rooms good. Facilities are good. Cleanliness excellent. Food I find safety and security good and drink good. Activities look good but mum does not take part. Value for money
I cannot answer as social services have been paying for Mum's stay up to now.

My Dad had spent 11 days on end-of-life care in St Margaret's. I found the staff very helpful and approachable when needing information on my Dad's care. The only issue I came across was that there was never anybody on the desk, we walked in signed the book and left an hour or so later nobody on the
desk or checking anybody who entered.
They cared for him 100% and he was always being checked on so no problem there but I think the security could do with looking at it as the door was open to anybody.

Thank you for your review and comments. St Margarets operates an open door policy and has done for many years, the visitors to St Margarets find it a lot more convenient, especially after the restrictions of Covid. The door is locked from 7pm to 7am daily during the winter months and from 8pm to 6am in the summer months.

My father was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia and we arranged for him to go into assisted living at another premises locally. After a while it was realised he needed better, round the clock care. I visited several care homes locally and St Margaret's Care Home were the only one that treated my with
respect and dignity. It was agreed that my dad would become a resident at St Margaret's and since his arrival on 3rd Jan 2025, he has become more settled and less of a strain on myself and my sister. After a rocky start the staff at St Margaret's have been able to relate to him and he is now considerably more content and active.

Horrid place, horrid staff, horrid nurse. Never been in a place so uncaring in all my life. My poor Dad spent his last 5 days on this earth there and I will never forgive myself for allowing him to be there!

Unfortunately, I cannot see that this is an accurate reflection of the service and level of care that we provide at St Margarets, which is evident in the other 30 reviews submitted in the last few years. It has been identified that this was from July 2024, some 6 months ago and it is impossible for me to understand why your concerns were not raised sooner, to allow me the opportunity to complete a full investigation. I can understand that this was an emotional time for you and your family, especially considering your father-in-law was only with us for 5 days.

What a lovely care home. My father initially went into St Margaret's for respite at the end of August after having a couple of falls at home. The staff are amazing and my father ended up becoming a permanent resident. My father passed away on 25th December 2024. We were telephoned immediately and the
empathy we received was outstanding. I would recommend St Margaret's 100%. Thank you to all members of staff who cared for my Dad with love and care.

My sister and I took the difficult (but right) decision to Move our mum in July of this year to St Margaret's. From the initial meeting we had to actually moving Mum, the Manager helped and supported us every step of the way. She allocated Mum a room so she can look out onto the garden and a space in
the lounge so she can do the same. When Mum arrived, the manager and her fantastic team welcomed Mum and took time to help her settle in.
Since then, Mum has settled very well and the help, care support and entertainment provided has been great. All of the staff are very caring and attentive and react to each resident's needs. Mum is very happy and so are we!

My mother is in St Margaret's care home and they look after her and have never seen her look better, this is a wonderful care home and the staff that work there are brilliant it's like having a second family. Would highly recommend this place, the place is beautiful and the surroundings ie the gardens.

My dad went in for respite for 2 weeks and due to a change in circumstances, he's now a permanent resident, as a family were really pleased that we could get a permanent place for Dad in St Margaret's. The manager and staff are lovely always there to help, he's got a good room we've put his own TV up
and photos and the food is really good. Dad's settled and happy and being well cared for which gives us peace of mind. It's always clean and tidy and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for care or respite for their relative.

My dad has been with you since November. He wasn't happy leaving his house to start with but he has settled now. I'm so happy with the way everyone looks after him.

We as a family are extremely happy with the care, warmth, dedication and hard work of all staff they are lovely. The cleanliness and food are brilliant. The residents are given interaction with several activities and we feel it's like home from home.

My mother-in-law has settled well into St Margarets. All staff are always at hand to help no matter what it is for. We have visited many different times of the day and they are very welcoming.
The food is always very good and the servings are very generous.
Medication is given at set times and it
is adhered to by all nursing staff.
There are many activities for my mother-in-law to join in with if she wishes to.

We have been using St Margaret's since January 2024 for my ban for two weeks at a time for respite care every 8-12 weeks. It's been a great feeling to find a facility that has a specific area and understanding for people living with dementia. I care for Nan full-time, and this respite time helps give
me a break so I can recharge. Nan is obviously cared for well, and I have complete confidence in the staff that cares for Nan. Seeing regular staff faces really helps me to leave and Nan to settle in quickly. I'm very grateful to the team for all they do for Nan and me.

My 91-year-old uncle is currently in St.Margaret's and has been now for three months. The care and compassion is excellent. I would highly recommend St.Margaret's, I have in my job visited nursing homes, and this one is definitely 100%. Nothing is too much trouble, the staff are reassuring and friendly.
The manager and nurses are very supportive. It is without a doubt highly recommended. The activity side is brilliant, with cheerful coordinators helping, always something to keep residents interested, should they like to join in.

My husband went into St Margarets Care Home in May 2023, he had dementia during a short stay in hospital other complications were found. He was on the dementia unit, I cannot fault the care he received while there the carers were brilliant the care he received was wonderful and he always seemed content.
He didn't have much speech but he used to have sad moods when he used to cry and they always comforted and reassured him nothing was too much trouble for the carers. All the staff were always there to help and nothing was too much trouble, it was always clean and a lovely atmosphere. Sadly my husband passed away in February 2024 and the kindness they all showed me was wonderful I couldn't have wished for him to be anywhere else.

My mum stayed at St Margaret's to receive respite care after a short spell in hospital. We found the staff to be very friendly and caring, tending to my mum's needs with great efficiency and understanding. They were also very encouraging and ready to offer advice if needed. While there, my mum had to
attend some appointments at the hospital, and the staff ensured that transport was arranged and that my mum was ready for the excursions in good time. There was also the possibility to have her hair cut and styled every two weeks, something which I know she appreciated. My sisters and I often visited my mum together, and the staff were always welcoming and ensured extra seating if necessary.

We have been able to relax and be reassured that Mum has been safe and comfortable and has her needs met physically, mentally and emotionally. All members of staff have been approachable, professional, compassionate, helpful advisors and extremely caring for Mum and her visitors. We have had superb
cooperation and advice for a specific event where Mum has been supported with arrangements to leave the home for part of the day and was welcomed back in with a cuppa and lots of smiles as well as staff being ready to help Mum with her specific needs at an ‘irregular’ time, checking every step of her care and personally taking time and interest.

The decision to put my husband in a nursing home wasn’t an easy one but had to be made. From the initial contact with the manager at St Margaret’s I felt reassured his needs would be met. My husband was given nothing but excellent care and respect throughout his stay. All staff at the home were superb
and nothing was ever too much trouble. If you are reading this review with the hope to be reassured your loved one will be in the best hands then let me assure you I would choose this home in a heartbeat if I had to make the decision again. First class service 24/7.
