Overall Experience

After leaving Tameside hospital my mother was taken to Acer Mews care home approximately 5 weeks ago she was not very well
The treatment and care my mother has received from all the staff has been second to none The staff really care for the patients

Overall Experience

Visit to see my dad who is 1-1 on Heatons Unit. He looked well. Staff were watchful of him, making sure we knew who was with him and where they would be if we needed them. Greeted by the staff when we arrived.

I cannot praise the staff enough for the continued care and support they have not only given to my mum but to me also. The care is outstanding and I could not ask for more for my mum.

My friend has nothing but praise for Acer Mews.
From the care he receives to the food.
He has not been outside for years and now gets out in the garden regularly.
He can also now get to the other rooms.

Overall Experience

During the time my relative has been in the home, he has not received quality care delivered with compassion and dignity. The specialist care required and the care plan from the local authority have not been followed and further interventions have been required as a direct result of Acer Mews. A formal

complaint has been made to the CQC which is currently investigating. This home has only been open since March 2024.

Overall Experience

This is a caring, supportive, safe, and resident-focused care home. From the start of my brother's move to Adswood Lodge all staff have looked after him like a family member. Despite some of his challenging behaviour the staff used a caring approach and adapted to his needs. The care home has a positive

approach to looking after its residents. The ward is led by experienced managers who are open and transparent in their methods. This care home should be used as a model for other care homes. Well done!

Overall Experience

I have been a frequent visitor at Adswood Lodge since my father's partner was transferred from another care home unable to meet her complex needs. This was a very upsetting time and resulted in many hospital admissions. On arrival here, she was immediately assessed and settled, incidents causing distress

abruptly stopped. The staff here are proactive, intelligent, caring and professional. They always consider 'what can we do better?'. The managers and nursing staff oversee everything and value everyone; you are listened to. The home itself is welcoming, and clean, and provides excellent facilities. There is a feeling of togetherness. Highly recommended.

Overall Experience

My brother has made great progress since coming here. He has put weight on. He doesn't get as aggressive or agitated like he used to. He can now eat solid foods. All the carers seem to genuinely care for him, they have a laugh with him too and it feels like he isn't on his own in here.

Honestly, Lakeview has been the best thing to happen to me I’ve been able to improve and become so involved in home life, I’ve taken part in planning home fairs to raise money for activities, I’m helping with activities as service user activities to plan activities for the home and we are planning 2

more fairs. I’m working with the maintenance team to help brighten the home up with lots of plants and flowers in the garden too! The care we receive here is amazing and I have improved so much in the 8 months since I moved in and have so much more freedom and normality than I used to, management are amazing at dealing with any concerns and queries that may arise and dealing with them promptly and discreetly. The activities team are always working with us to make sure we have a variety of activities. The domestic team are always making sure our areas are cleaned to the highest standard and the kitchen team are really good at catering to my dietary requirements.

Myself and my family cannot speak highly enough of Church Walk care home, meeting the complex needs of my uncle. All staff are exemplary, caring and compassionate. Nothing is too much trouble. They follow the interests of my uncle and his family and all staff go beyond expectations, treating him like

one of their own family. We feel so reassured and calm that he has such wonderful people looking after him. I personally work as a senior health professional and I have also acted in the past as an advisor. I can measure and appreciate what good care looks like. If we were to measure care on a 15 step challenge - exemplary. Care and compassion - exemplary. Leadership and inclusivity - exemplary. Meeting the needs of patients and their family - exemplary. Overall Experience

My brother moved here in September from a residential care home where they were struggling to meet his needs due to his significant cognitive and behavioural difficulties. Since moving to Adswood, his challenging behaviours have been managed in a caring, compassionate and dignified manner. The staff

are friendly and caring, and are getting to know him on a personal level. They go above and beyond their roles to support him.
As a family member I always feel valued, respected and listened to, with concerns dealt with in a reassuring way. At times when I have been highly emotional, I have been supported by managers, as well as carers and other members of staff.
There is always a warm and welcoming feel when walking into Adswood Lodge, from the admin staff to cleaners, kitchen staff and even the handyman caretaker!
We are very happy with choosing Adswood to care for my brother, it feels as though he is part of a bigger family and that this is his home now.

Overall Experience

Church Walk staff helped me sort out a few days holiday for my brother. Three members of staff attended with him and I will never be able to show them or thank them for the hard work they did with him. They made him laugh every day and they never left his side. They made my holiday with my twin the

best 50th birthday we could have asked for. I wasn’t looking forward to our birthday due to the fact we are getting closer to losing him, and being part of a twin means we share our birthdays. I know soon enough that I’ll have to have our day on my own but for now, I want to thank Church Walk staff for all their kindness and support. You are amazing guys.

In the beginning, there was a large turnover of staff so it was very difficult to see any sort of consistency. Also, the staff were very young and inexperienced. Few issues to begin with but at the moment things seem to have improved and there is more staff who seem to be more experienced in looking

after people with dementia.
