An excellent care home. Staff are obviously recruited extremely well, all demonstrating bespoke care for each individual resident. They take the time to get to know their clients + their families. Communication is excellent about all situations + they are pro-active regarding medical needs. The atmosphere
in the home is lovely, food is good, plenty of organised activities. All staff are kind + have endless patience. Highly recommend.

Dad has settled well in the care home. Management and staff make you feel welcome and give time to support any concerns. The care is outstanding, nothing is too much trouble however small it may be. Recently the home put on various activities to involve families and service users. Together we
were able to enjoy the Halloween party, Christmas Market and Masquerade Ball. I feel less anxious knowing dad is safe and happy in this establishment.

It's almost a year since mum moved into Parkhall. From day one she's been cared for in a kind and dignified way and her needs perfectly met. Every staff member knows mum, her likes and dislikes and despite her increased confusion and anxiety know exactly how to manage her. Management always inform
us immediately with any issue and we feel confident to approach them at anytime. It's also lovely to see that despite their management duties they still take time to interact with residents. The events in the home are amazing and gives us such pleasure to see mum enjoying herself. The effort made by all staff is an absolute credit to the home. The weekly visits from medical staff has thrown up some unexpected issues but it's been so reassuring to see how well and quickly they have been acted on by staff. During a recent meeting with the manager it was clear how passionate she is about her residents needs being met throughout their life that remains. We are 100% happy with Parkhall

Chesterton Lodge

from Gemma V (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 5 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

My grandma had been at Chesterton Lodge for a few years. Although I wasn't satisfied with the level of care she received over the past couple of years, when her health declined and she began her end-of-life journey, the staff truly shone. In particular, the senior care leader, along with certain carers
and several others whose names I can't recall, were incredible. They were extremely attentive to my grandma and our family. They even offered us a room opposite my grandma's so we could rest while we stayed with her around the clock during her final days. Although the staffing levels at night are concerning, with only four staff members for 60 residents, they still managed to take care of us, ensuring we were comfortable and taking the time to talk to us. Their genuine care was evident when my grandma passed away, and they were visibly upset. Thank you, team, for your kindness.

Reply from Sarah Lacey, Regional Support Manager at Chesterton Lodge

Thank you for taking the time to review Chesterton Lodge and we pleased that you rate our care/ support as excellent. We appreciate your kind comments regarding our team and the end-of-life care provided to your Grandma, which I will pass on to our team. Once again please accept our condolences on the loss of your Grandma We're sorry to see that you're unhappy with our care, where the wellbeing and safety of our residents is always our priority. Our staffing is calculated using a dependency tool to ensure the best care is always provided where our night staffing ratio is higher than outlined.

My gran was living here for just over a year before she passed away. The carers had a lovely connection with her. The rooms were always clean and tidy and well looked after. The home itself is spacious and so are the rooms with all ensuite. She was always looked after and supported with her needs. She
never left her room but the staff would always go in and check on her regularly and pour her an Irish cream liqueur at night time. She made friends with the lady next door and would sometimes sit down at the end of the corridor watching the schoolchildren. The staff were brilliant with her right till the end even though she could be" stubborn " they would always try and encourage her to get up and dressed and join in. Would recommend most defiantly

Simply put, the service and respect I have received from Maple Court have been excellent. The staff have been very caring and attentive to my needs at all times and they work so very hard to create a welcoming environment for the residents. It is really outstanding in all respects. This residence is
an example of what can be achieved when good people come together for the common good. Many, many thanks.

Chesterton Lodge

from Bernadette H (Daughter of Resident) published on 31 December 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My Dad came to Chesterton Lodge in December 2022 and lived there for 13 months until he sadly passed away in January 2024. As a family we cannot fault his care, everything we asked of the dedicated staff was done for my Dad. My mum visited him nearly every day and also stayed for her dinner with him
on special occasions.
In 2023 my elderly uncle had some falls at home and after a spell in hospital, my cousin and I also put my uncle to live there permanently. When visiting we used to take my uncle up to my dad or vice versa. My uncle is still living happily there and we still visit him weekly. As with a previous review, the staff are one of the best assets of Chesterton Lodge and go above and beyond with everything they are asked to do.
My mum is now needing more care from the family and if needed we wouldn't hesitate to put her into Chesterton Lodge for respite in a view to living there permanently in fact she keeps asking to go and live there so she isn't on her own at night.

My Grandmother was recently moved here back in August due to no longer being safe at home. She has really settled in well, the staff are lovely and the home is very homely inside. There are events that take place such as a Halloween party etc that I managed to bring my daughter to and special things
like this make my grandma's day. We are happy with the care my grandmother is receiving. Thank you!

My Dad moved into Maple Tree in March and remained there until his death in October. During this time he was cared for with dignity, respect, and attention. We were kept updated on his welfare and as a family welcomed any time. Towards the end, the staff were extremely mindful to ensure that Dad did
not suffer and supported us in every way. The staff was caring, kind, thoughtful, and professional. Thank you for everything you do and did for Dad. We would highly recommend Maple Tree to others.

My Mother-in-law has been at Park Hall for seven months, she has nothing but good things to say about the care assistants.
The home makes everyone feel secure - there are lots of activities that go on day to day and everyone is encouraged to join in.
I would highly recommend Park Hall as it provides
an excellent service.
