My whole family could not be happier with my dad's care at Palmersdene. It was a very difficult decision for us to make to place dad in residential care but the compassion, attentiveness and professionalism of the staff have turned the process into something we wish we had done sooner as dad now has
the quality of life he truly deserves thanks to Palmersdene.

I am not usually one for writing reviews but I think Cranlea deserves a one. Watching my mother in law this week enjoying an activity where many of the staff were involved was so good. She told us how happy she feels at Cranlea and that is what matters to us. Cranlea has managed to make my wife feel
more relaxed than she has for years. Knowing her mam is cared for so well and hearing her mam tell us how she feels is so reassuring to her. The staff seem to know her very well and are always nice. They also make us feel welcome when we visit. A very nice care home which deserves a positive mention.

My grandmother has recently moved in to Cranlea.
The support from the staff has been outstanding and greatly appreciated.
The staff are caring and approachable, not only supporting my grandmother, but also us as a family during the settling in period.
It's as though she has a new lease of life
since moving in to Cranlea!

From the first day my aunty arrived at Cranlea, everything has been above and beyond our expectations. The staff have made the transition from home so much easier. From management to carers, handiman and kitchen staff, everyone has been friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Cranlea to anyone
in our situation.

I was anxious about Dad moving into a care home, but already within a few months, I am so relieved at how much he is thriving in Palmersdene. This is due to the caring, kind staff and the brilliant environment there. Dad has a beautiful room where he is safe and secure 24/7, which is such a comfort
to me and my family.

Mam has been in the care home for a few months and she settled very quickly. The staff are really lovely and are always nearby, they are kind, caring and do a brilliant job- thank you. The care home itself is very comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. Family are always made welcome and always contacted
if there are any issues. I'd like to say a big thank you for the Xmas party arranged for residents and family, great entertainment, food and games, the effort made was outstanding and much appreciated.

Mam has been at Palmersdene for 6 weeks and is now settling very well thanks to the excellent care and reassurance from the staff. There are always lots of staff around and the atmosphere is calm. Residents seem happy and Mam interacts well with the staff and residents. This care home is immaculate,
comfortable, and well-run. We are happy that Mam is safe and well cared for, and the staff will phone us if there are any problems. They are happy to answer any questions we have.

Cranlea

from T L (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 23 October 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

There is not enough words allowed in this review to mention all of the positive things about Cranlea.
The staff are at the heart of what makes Cranlea so special. Leaving your loved one in the care of others is one of the hardest decisions to make.
We waited for a place to become available as we
had been recommended it from three families we knew who had relatives living there.
We absolutely made the right choice.
The culture of the home and focus on outstanding patient care is apparent each and every day. Not just from the carers on the shop floor who are all amazing but management, admin, domestic and catering and laundry staff too.
The staff all treat grandad like he is one of their own. They support him and us and keep us up to date with everything.
Grandad has lived there for a year now and he is thankfully so settled even with his dementia and that's all down to the knowledge and experience that the staff have. I could not recommend this home any more, it is outstanding.

During her 14 months at Cranlea, Mam was clearly valued by the staff in the home. They got to know her as an individual and went above and beyond to try to make her time there as happy as possible. The staff are professional and caring, in particular, the team leaders, who supported us as relatives
in addition to caring for Mam. Mam enjoyed joining in with the excellent range of activities available for the residents and particularly enjoyed the outings and visiting entertainers. The staff team try to ensure that Cranles is a happy home-from-home.

Review of

Palmersdene

from Alan C (Husband of Resident) published on 10 September 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My wife has been in this care home since May 2022, she has had good periods and bad periods, the bad periods have been when she has had to be admitted to hospital, the good periods have been when she goes back to Palmersdene because of the personal care she gets when she goes back to her room. The carers
get rotated so every carer knows all the residents so the residents relax as they all know each other. The care home is spotlessly clean and the cleaners know all the residents as well. My only worry is it does not have a nursing home facility so it could mean that my wife could have to change home if health issues get much worse and I don't want to think how she would cope after being in such a nice environment, hopefully that won't happen. If by chance there is an incident they contact me or my daughter by phone and keep you informed to put your mind at rest.

The care home and the staff are absolutely brilliant with my Mum. They provide a fantastic level of personalised car for her. The food and services they provide are second to none. My Mum is in a far better physical and mental state of health since being with the home. The staff are in regular contact
with me if there are any issues with her. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Palmersdene for what they do for my Mum.

My father went into Palmersdene Care Home 3 years ago to recover from a fall, but didn't want to leave! So, we packed up his home and we were lucky enough to get a permanent place for him. The staff are amazing, we feel as a family that the care he gets is the best and we are extremely thankful for
that.

My mother-in-law has settled well into Palmersdene. She seems happy, comfortable and content. She is quite obviously well cared for in all respects. The staff are all very friendly and have quickly got to know her. They provide relatives with lots of info about her wellbeing. We are very happy with
the standard of care she is receiving in Palmersdene.
