Simon Marks Court

from M C (Daughter of Resident) published on 14 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

Mum's been in Simon Marks for just over a year now she has settled there immediately and has been very happy the last year. Care and support and staff have been excellent, staff turnover has been frequent so sometimes impacts on care delivery as not familiar with residents but always obliging and friendly.
Management always friendly and helpful with any concerns or issues. As a family we have peace of mind mum is happy and well looked after.

Mum was very well looked after , I was under the impression that that was the end , but mum was well looked after with respect and dignity that she seem to have a really good end of life experience. The 24 hr care , the social interaction she experienced gave her I believe the best conditions possible
.
If this is you first time putting a family member in a home take heart , because it will be ok especially here in this home .

The staff are friendly, getting in and out of the building can be a pain, but it is a necessary part of security and caring for our love ones. The staff are exceptional in dealing with the people in their care. I particularly like the tactileness of the staff, (hugs, stroke, kiss) on the back drop,
some residents don't get visitors. I think this is hugely important

So happy my father is in this residential home.
My father-in-law was there until he passed away.
The staff are wonderful with dad and always stay to chat when delivering his meals and drinks, which are plentiful.
The staff have been there a long time and many have family also working there - that
says quite a lot.
We know he is safe, warm and cared for. He is happy and so are we.

from A P (Wife of Resident) published on 3 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 3.0 out of 5

Generally, the care is very good. I believe my husband is well looked after by the care staff. I do wonder why staying in this home is so expensive!

Reply from Louise Bulcock, Manager at Wharfeside

Thank you for taking the time to leave Wharfeside a review. We are pleased you rate the facilities here as excellent, and you feel the care for your father is very good. Our fee increase reflects higher costs, such as energy and other essentials. This also supports payment of the real Living Wage to our care colleagues, to ensure we can continue to provide high quality care. I am happy to discuss this further at a mutually convenient time. Feedback is very important to us and we are constantly looking for ways to improve and tailor our offering for our residents. It would be great to discuss this with you further so please don't hesitate to contact me at any time.

from Lisa G (Daughter of Resident) published on 2 April 2025

My mum was a dementia resident for approximately 3 years when sadly she passed away. The staff however, were exceptional with their care and compassion during my mum's final weeks and days.

They strived to reach appropriate medical teams and professionals when she started to deteriorate to get necessary

advice for her care and kept me updated every step of the way.

The final days were where compassion of the highest kind was witnessed by all the care staff. They were always by her side, played her favourite music and ensured she was as comfortable as possible.

My mum has been so well looked after during her time here and the staff go above and beyond for residents and their family, always with a smile on their faces! Huge thank you me for everything!
