The Manor House Roundhay Care Home

from Jayne H (Daughter of Resident) published on 29 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

The Manor House Roundhay has risen the bar and set the standard!
Set in beautiful surroundings, the interior offers gorgeous accommodation with comfort a number one priority. It is very much a residential home of exceptionally high standard.
While this is all important, it's the care that stands
out. Under the manager's management her team offer the highest standard of care and compassion.
Great care has been taken with Mum, who was frail and anxious leading up to her move to Manor House. We needn't have worried, she was welcomed and cared for and settled in with great attention, and in a short time has come on in leaps and bounds.
The staff are lovely, friendly, professional and hugely caring to both residents and their families. We were made to feel more than welcome. Nothing is too much trouble.
It's a huge decision to place a parent into care, but we are happy and relieved Mum now has a beautiful happy home to call her own.

This HOME is outstanding! The staff truly care about our father and our father has developed a genuine fondness for the staff. We know he is well cared for, well fed and safe. We always feel welcome when we visit. It is always immaculately clean. There's always a danger that you can sound like you're
"blowing smoke" when giving a great review......I'm not. This HOME is brilliantly led by the manager. She has a business to run but my god, she cares about her residents AND the welfare of the families too.....we know this from personal experience. We also know we could pick up the phone to the manager and she'd be there to help. If she wasn't available, the ever helpful staff member would be there! A massive thank you to all the staff. A truly great HOME run by a superb team!

Ashcroft

5 Stars - A Truly Special Celebration at Ashcroft!
We recently celebrated my mum's 70th birthday at Ashcroft, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day. The staff went above and beyond to make everything feel personal, thoughtful, and full of love. From the decorations to the food,
to the gentle caring way they look after my mum, it was all handled with such warmth and kindness.
My mum was absolutely beaming - she felt so special and truly celebrated. It meant the world to us to see her surrounded by people who clearly care so much for her.
Although my mum has been a resident for a relatively short period of time, Ashcroft has always been a wonderful place, but this party really showed how deeply they value the people in their care. Thank you for making Mum's 70th so memorable, we'll treasure it always! x

The Staff are always welcoming, and there is a lovely atmosphere about the home. Everyone is approachable and if they are busy, they will come back to you as promptly as possible. There are lots of social events but sadly my relative doesn't join in but we hope in time he will. The staff do try to encourage
him though.

Tolson Grange is a lovely clean & bright environment.
The staff are all brilliant, chatty, caring & welcoming.
All the residents are well looked after, lots of activities to keep them entertained.
Dad's been in the carehome since Oct 24, the staff are all great with him, really looking after him.
He's
even put weight back on since being in, which is great!
He was falling at home & had a nasty one outside, wasn't safe to let him go walking by himself & he was becoming more confused & disoriented, along with other issues.
Being in the carehome, he has 24hr care & gives us peace of mind, knowing he's well looked after.

The care and love shown to mum was lovely and reassuring that she was being well looked after. All the staff worked together as a team, always having a ready smile.
Mum was only there for a few weeks because her health was in decline. The staff were brilliant ensuring she had everything she needed
to keep her comfortable, clean, nicely fed and lots of company and chats.
We visited often, as her health deteriorated and were always welcome.
Observing staff interactions with other residents was reassuring too. Everyone was treated as a valued individual.

I would like to highlight the fantastic work a member of staff has done in relation to caring for my mother. Mum was admitted to hospital in January and this carer took personal time to visit her in hospital and also championed her care as a true advocate in a large hospital. Whilst there I was in regular
contact with her and we shared reports. She also followed up on return. This member of staff is a credit to herself and the caring profession she works in.
As a side note, the carer has also taken it upon herself so ensure my contact with mum was initiated and continues via a messaging app as I live in Australia.
Also an honourable mention to another team lead who is also very connected, knowledgeable and will use all avenues open to explore care for mum.

Dad is well cared for and treated with great respect. When coming to see him staff are welcoming and it's now like dad's part of a larger family. Staff are/have been supportive on some occasions when Dad's illness has become too much to bear? Because of Springfield and all staff throughout, I can rest

My learning disabled older brother has recently moved into Halcyon Court and I couldn't be more pleased with all the care that he receives from the team at Halcyon. He has settled in very well thanks to their care and the time that they spend with him to make sure that they are familiar with his needs.
He leads a full active and happy life and has been far more healthy since moving in with them. He was in supported living but it was failing and I was at my wit's end but they picked up the baton and took over. All staff respond immediately to concerns raised and I couldn't be happier. If only all care providers worked as they do the world would be a better place

Mum's been in Simon Marks for just over a year now she has settled there immediately and has been very happy the last year. Care and support and staff have been excellent, staff turnover has been frequent so sometimes impacts on care delivery as not familiar with residents but always obliging and friendly.
Management always friendly and helpful with any concerns or issues. As a family we have peace of mind mum is happy and well looked after.
