My father has recieved great service for his care and support as a resident in this home. He requires nursing support and the staff and team have been excellent at meeting his individual needs. The commmunication with the medical staff and my family provides us with peace if mind. Myself and my siblings
live away from the local area and so we rely on the team at the care home to advocate for my dad's needs and keep him comfortable.
We chose this home becuase evey single member of staff aknowledged my family when we looked around the facilities, the care home manager asked us plenty of question about my dad and his individual needs etc,
Thank you to all the team for your continued hard work and support in keeping my dad safe.

Reply from Georgea Buckle, Operations Executive at Allerton Park

Thank you so much for your kind words. We're really glad to hear that you and your family feel supported and reassured, especially being further away. I am the Deputy via the Court of Protection for my dear cousin who has lived at Allerton Park Care Centre for over two years. Sadly my cousin has Dementia and complex needs although I am pleased to say that the management and staff at Oakes Lane are first class.
As I live four hours away from Bradford,
life for me could be very difficult, but this isn't the case. I trust the staff at the Centre and know how well they look after my cousin. They are highly professional and care for my cousin with the utmost sympathy and kindness. Luckily, they are also first rate communicators and keep me informed constantly. Finally, despite my visits being difficult I am always made welcome by the staff, which is greatly appreciated.
I have no hesitation in awarding five stars to Allerton Park Care Centre.

The overall care given is very good, and the patients are well looked after for health problems. We are kept informed on any problems with health issues and doctors called if required. There is no way she could be by herself, so the home is a good place for her.

I would not recommend this care home at all! It is a disgrace. Don't send loved ones here.

We as a family felt that although staff were friendly enough, there was a distinct lack of professional care and communication. The staff don't seem to be properly trained or organized in their duties. My mum was only here for a week for an assessment but we had to move her as we felt strongly as a
family we couldn't leave her here. We were particularly concerned for her safety and wellbeing and that her care plan wasn't being followed properly. Elderly and suffering from Alzheimer's she is very vulnerable and we didn't feel reassured about her care at all.

My dad has been at Hazel Bank Nursing Home since December 2024, I think it is a great place!
My dad, who has dementia, has settled in very well and has made a couple of friends. He likes it there, I have made the following observations:
* it is a welcoming home for visitors and feels like a 'family'
home
* visitors are always made welcome at any time
* the staff are always informal and helpful
* they are highly informative with me and highly attentive to my dad's needs such as him being a high risk of falling
* The manager, is also very friendly and professional

Reply from Phil Benson, Executive Director of Operations at Hazel Bank Nursing Home

Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We're so pleased to hear that your dad has settled in well at Hazel Bank and that he's enjoying his time here, even making some new friends. Very welcoming nursing home to relatives, superb nursing staff, kitchen staff and cleaning/laundry staff. Food is exceptionally nutritional, delicious and plentiful. Management and admin staff take notes of Dad's requirements and needs updating care plans as and when, nothing is ever too much, staff
are caring and hardworking. We are overly delighted with the exceptional care and dignity shown to my father. Thank you Hazel Bank Nursing Home.

I attended a meeting with staff and experts involved with dementia care recently. My sister has been in Claremont Nursing Home about six weeks. She is settling in well, although it took a little while at first. Her dementia is a complicated one, which varies with her mood. It was obvious and reassuring
how much they wanted the very best for her. I have found the staff friendly and kind. The home is cheerfully decorated and clean. They residents are frequently supplied with drinks and treats. They look comfortable and well cared for. I am grateful to the management and staff who look after those with a difficult and complicated illness.

As a retired qualified Army nurse, I love that getting into this home is monitored and locked - as no resident can go outside wondering unaided, thus making it super safe.
The staff are lovely and friendly and all the residents seem happy with their environment in the day rooms and dining room.
I
have found the home to be very clean on my numerous visits and other relatives that I have met and talked to seem happy too

My sister is well looked after, the staff are caring. I visit over the lunchtime period and the staff provided a lunch on every occasion which is much appreciated. One memorable event was Yorkshire day, which was well organised, great entertainment. Also my sister's birthday was celebrated with a cake
made by the chef. All in all she is well looked after.

CQC and other organisations are totally toothless - weak management - previous manager at Hazel Bank Nursing Home excellent. The manager is weak and toothless and arrogant - surly care assistants. Like getting in and out Fort Knox. The residents and anyone associated with them have no rights to raise
concerns and complaints - not very welcoming as a visitor.
Problems with rodents - dirty toilets - a visitor toilet that used to be accessible but now has a lock with a number so visitors no longer have access to use it.
A care assistant came into my sister's room and started complaining to my sister, asked her to leave. Very unprofessional and the only home that does this sort of thing. Poorly trained staff and only an in-house complaint procedure so nothing would be done. Wouldn't recommend this place at all so please avoid sending any one you here, its a risk.

Reply from Antony Hall, Managing Director at Hazel Bank Nursing Home

We are sorry to hear that you feel the care you sister receives at Hazel Bank does not meet your expectations. We will take on board your comments to assure ourselves that all the residents in Hazel Bank are receiving the high standards of care Park Homes UK expects at all its homes. My team will reach out to you shortly to address the concerns you have.

A positive first impression. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by a warm and friendly team. The care and attention shown to my father was truly impressive. The staff were attentive to his needs and requests, ensuring his comfort and well-being.
I was particularly pleased to learn about the variety
of social activities available, both within the home and in the community. I'm eager to encourage my father to participate in these activities, as I believe they will greatly enhance his quality of life. The overall environment feels safe, welcoming, and positive. It's reassuring to know that my father is in such good hands.

My dad was at Claremont from April 2024 until his passing in September 2024. The staff were very kind and caring, they always had a smile and went out of their way to help. Every member of staff from the carers, nurses, management, cleaners, administration and kitchen staff have the residents best
interests at heart. Their kindness and empathy extended, not only to my dad, but also to our family, always making us feel welcome at the home and involved in dad's care.
I would like to express my gratitude and thanks to all staff at Claremont who looked after my dad making his last months as comfortable and happy as possible.
