Belmont House

I came to live at Belmont House shortly after the death of my husband. I acquired ensuite accommodation in the residential Courtyard Unit and moved in the week the premises opened. That was in November 2006. After 9 years, I moved into the nursing Garden Unit as I needed more care. Once again, I am
in ensuite accommodation. Belmont House is a person-centered Care Home. I am treated as an individual and not expected to lose my personality or my personal preferences. The Care Staff are always very attentive and are obviously well trained. The Home Manager, is extremely approachable and bends over backwards to make life comfortable and enjoyable for the residents. I think the fact that I have lived happily at Belmont House for over 18 years speaks for itself!

The Moors Care Centre exceeded all our expectations since my father was welcomed there in November following a hospital staff. Without exception, the team go above and beyond to provide first-class care within a safe and professional environment. The home is spotlessly clean and there is always a genuinely
warm welcome when visiting Dad. The activities are varied and perfectly suited to the residents. My only minor niggles would be the lack of car park spaces but I believe that is under review for improvement. Thanks to everyone for making this a home-from-home for Dad.

Reply from Sue Simpkin, Home Manager at The Moors Care Centre

Thank you for your review. Your Dad was a lovely gentle person, when he initially came to stay here his love of Irish Folk music ensured that everyone could enjoy this through the early evening, we have all learnt to jig a little quicker! Again, thank you for your kind words, we will share this with the entire team.

Rosedale Nursing Home

from Denise R (Daughter of Resident) published on 23 December 2024

My mum has been in Rosedale since April. She was moved from a care home in Darlington where she was very unhappy. She is now much happier and settled. The staff are all lovely and kind and take great care of my mum. They are very understanding and compassionate and nothing is too much for them. She
is treated with dignity and respect. The rooms are lovely and clean and the food is very good. They also provide snacks if requested. Hairdressing and chiropodist services are also available.
They have a great variety of entertainment but my mum doesn't mix very much but with encouragement from the carers she will sometimes go down and join in which she really enjoys.
I would highly recommend this care home if you are looking for somewhere for your loved ones.

The Moors Care Centre

from Tracey J (Daughter of Resident) published on 19 November 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Accepting that Mum needed full-time residential care was a tough and scary decision for my mum and our family. The staff guided us every step of the way and treated us with compassion and understanding.
Mum has now lived at the moors for three months and the change in her is amazing, she seems happier
every time I see her. She reports having a laugh with the staff every day and constantly chats about them.
The home is absolutely spotless, food is delicious and Mum is always accommodated as she is rather fussy about what she eats!
I cannot praise all staff enough, they are always so cheerful and kind, they are amazing with mum and when we visit we always feel so welcome and looked after too.
There are plenty of activities on offer and we are encouraged to join in, mum loves animals and there was even a pony visiting recently which made a huge difference to Mum's day.
Mum moving into the moors has been the best decision we made for her.

My father moved into Ashfield Court in March 2021 with 3 months of funding for end-of-life care. Now 3.5 years on and aged 98 I cannot fault the care he has received. He enjoys the mix of activities provided and quiet time in his room. Volunteers assist him with hospital visits and the library supplies
large print books. Ashfield Court is a very pleasant and caring place to visit. Thank you.

The design of the care home is excellent with wide corridors and large rooms. It is spacious and airy and very well-equipped.
It has been a very good experience visiting my friend.

My mother and stepfather came into Ashfield Court just before the first lockdown. They were there until December 2023 (Mum) and June 2024 (stepfather). During that time, the nursing home had to deal with Covid and all that followed. The nursing care has been excellent throughout that difficult 4 year
period.

Very pleased with staff of the care home, all know their jobs and carry them out in a caring way, always willing to go the extra mile to help residents when they can or refer someone else to get an answer. The food is very good and varies each week.

After six weeks in nursing care we have seen an amazing improvement in Mum. After major surgery and a lengthy stint in hospital Mum was unrecognizable. The care and attention given by all the staff has allowed Mum to recover to a point way past what we had expected and hoped for. She is well cared for,
socialising and treated with dignity. There is always plenty of staff on hand and all are happy to help or answer any questions.
