Staff always friendly with their time and professional with their care.
The food is varied and suitable choices for all. The activities are enjoyable and stimulating for those to take part and others to watch.
I have only put good for value for money as I believe the fees for care homes (any) are
extortionate to pay.

All the staff at Wyndham Hall have been very welcoming and helpful since my mother-in-law came to stay. She came for 2 weeks of respite in January 2025 and when we came to collect her she felt so safe and happy that she asked to stay. The manager was able to accommodate her wished and we are all so
pleased that she is settled well. Thank you Wyndham.

On entry the home gives a warm and friendly welcome. The receptionist is pleasant and helpful. In the home the staff are busy but always ready to help or advise.
The home is clean, neat, tidy and ordered. The residents look well cared for, well dressed, clean and comfortable. Walking around the corridors
all is polished and tidy.
Our resident's room is comfortable with a garden view.

I have found that my father has been very well looked after. His personal care is well tended to and he always looks well dressed and cared for. I know my Dad enjoys the food and is always positive about. The activities are well thought out, including for those who are less able bodied. You always get
the sense that the staff enjoy their jobs and are extremely thoughtful and caring. Contact from the carehome is good and appointments are also kept, with staff from the home attending when needed.

Reply from Prasad Pottokkaran Jose, Home Manager at Abingdon Court Care Home

Thank you very much for the great feedback on our service. We aim to continue providing the best care for all our residents with all your continued support. We will pass your kind words on to the team.

Since my sister went to live at Wyndham Hall just before Christmas of last year we have been impressed by the atmosphere of calm and kindness which the warm and professional staff demonstrate towards the residents and to visitors. The attentive nursing care treasures us that her medical needs are met
too. The many friends and family who visit regularly comment on how fortunate she is to have a home there and are grateful for the efforts staff make to accommodate their plans to make visits special and memorable. We are comforted to know that she is in such capable and loving hands.

Dad was very happy at Abingdon Court. The quality of care provided was outstanding, and the home was always clean with good quality food - things that were important to Dad. In addition all the staff, including nurses, carers, domestic staff and management were attentive and kind, making for a truely
homely atmosphere. Staff went out of their way to enable Dad to continue to pursue his interests and live life his own way. At the end of his life he was always treated with respect and compassion.
I can recommend Abingdon Court without reservation.

Dad spent a year and 2 weeks at Abingdon Court before he died. Of course we would rather he had been at home but he received such wonderful care it makes his loss easier to bear. His care was provided with compassion, respect and professionalism. The ethos was very much that Dad was at home not in a
facility. Every effort to accommodate our requests was always met. My Mum and I were also treated as one of the family and continue to be. I would definitely recommend them for your loved one or yourself.
Thank you so very much.

Like most people, when the time came to choose a care home for mum, I had had no previous experience. Initial impressions were good. It felt homely, warm and quiet. Sadly, very soon after mum arrived, I had concerns about the lack of interaction between mum and the staff. On every occasion I visited,
(at weekends as I visited from Manchester), mum was sat in a room with other residents. There were maybe one or two staff sitting in the far corner glued to laptops or phones. No interaction, no stimulation, no physical contact, no engagement. I had no idea whether the staff were nursing, care or cleaning but nonetheless, not what I expected. I felt uncomfortable asking questions about mum and her health, even basic questions such as her last meal were difficult. It seemed that only the nurse could tell me how mum was. Eventually, we moved mum into a new care home, and on the day of her departure, the staff fussed over her like she was departing royalty. Too little, too late I'm afraid.

My Mother walked into the care home in Dec 2023. She has Alzheimer's but could communicate, and feed herself, fully continent, very sociable and happy. Six months later we removed her from Abingdon Court as she was no longer able to walk, communicate, or feed herself, incontinent and so anxious she
was sedated 24 hours a day, and never left her bed. All family members felt very uncomfortable visiting the home as the majority of the staff were rude, unhelpful and patronising. My Mother arrived at 10.6 stone and in 6 months she dropped to just over 7 yet no one would sit with her to help her eat. Since moving homes my Mother is no longer sedated during the day, is smiling, has no anxiety attacks, enjoys her food and her quality of life has improved just in one month.

Reply from Flenton, Home Manager at Abingdon Court Care Home

Thank you for your feedback. Firstly, we are happy to hear that your mother is doing well and thriving in her current care home. We are delighted that you were able to find a more suitable placement to meet her needs. We apologise if Abingdon Court did not meet your expectations during your mother's stay with us. We have dealt with your concerns raised via our complaints procedure and notified the relevant bodies about your concerns, and we have provided all requested documents and information to aid their investigation. We are committed to continuous improvement and building trust with all our families. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to make amends and reaffirm our dedication to excellence in care.

My mother recently passed away peacefully in the care home. The love and care shown to her was exemplary. She was almost 102 years old. She died with dignity, and as a family, we too were treated with love and respect during a difficult time. Abingdon Court Care Home even agreed to host the "Wake".
which was perfect - although we made a donation, they refused to accept any other payment, such kindness, which is rare these days.

Excellent care. All my requests for my aunt were consistently met. Carers were loving and extremely kind.
My aunt cannot do anything for herself and the carers dressed her beautifully and kept her very clean. Even her dentures were put in and out (I've been to care homes where this hasn't been done).
She also sat perfectly upright in her wheelchair. Thank you.

Could not have wished for a better place for Dad to spend his final days. The staff are all so hard-working, attentive, and compassionate. Dad was made comfortable and we were kept in the loop at all times and made to feel very comfortable too. The home is well-serviced with various lounges and each
room is clean, spacious, and bright. Thank you so so much for what was such a difficult time. We will forever be thankful.

I came to view this home before my uncle arrived and was extremely pleased to see how many staff members were about, attending to the residents, all residents were happy and had a cup of tea. Very warm, friendly place. I saw the meals and they looked lovely, proper home-cooked.
Staff made me feel
very welcome at any time of day. They were very helpful when I needed advice.

Wyndham Hall Care Home

For 25 days the whole team at Wyndham Hall provided exemplary care for my sister-in-law in her final days of end-of-life care.
From our initial contact about the possibility of using Wyndham Hall, to our final day of clearing out the room, we were met with welcoming smiles, offers of help and guidance,
hospitality, professionalism, and compassion.
The nursing and physical care were excellent, regular turning, skincare, and time to hold a hand were never lacking.
Nutrition was difficult as my sister-in-law had little appetite and didn't even know herself what she fancied. However, the staff were diligent and persistent in doing their best to comply with her wishes and encouraged eating and drinking at every opportunity.
A child-gate was used on the room doorway to allow the door to be open, but prevent wandering mobile residents from entering.
Nobody wants to use facilities such as Wyndham Hall from choice, but when the need arose we considered ourselves fortunate indeed to have them nearby.

My mum came to stay with Abingdon Court Care Home in July 2023. She had Alzheimer’s and was anxious and always unsettled.
The staff were always happy, supportive, compassionate and empathetic and were always there to help my mum.
After my visits, I always left the care home, knowing she was safe
and was in the best hands.
Unfortunately, she passed away in November. Again the staff continued to be supportive of me and were lovely.
I cannot recommend Abingdon Court Care Home enough. Thank you.
