Ardenlea Court Care Home

from P W (Resident) published on 31 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

All the staff were very caring and professional during my three week stay after an operation. Living alone after the death of my wife, I wanted support available immediately after the operation and then two weeks later when my catheter was removed as I was unsure what the impact of my incontinence
would be. The inclusive laundry service was a key factor. I was able to self medicate most of my medication, but the nurses did the injections I required until I was confident enough to do them myself. The food was so much better than in the hospital. With the daily pastries, I was able to treat myself and start to enjoy my recovery more as a holiday. I enjoyed talking with all the staff as I recovered as I felt that they took time to be friendly and listen to me. I was pleased with my stay as it was certainly a major contributory factor to my recovery.

My friend only spent a week here but in that time he received such good care and nursing. All the staff I met, clinical, admin and housekeeping were professional and friendly. We were treated with respect and compassion by everyone. It is reassuring when you can leave a loved one and feel they are in
safe hands. The home itself is modern and well maintained with a lovely garden and the ambience is very warm and welcoming.

Crossley House Care Home

from Danielle B (Friend of Resident) published on 31 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I brought my Gran to visit a friend at Crossley House on Valentines Day. The home was clean, tidy and decorated for the day. Crossley House was full of life, staff were all happy, supportive and approachable providing conversation, entertainment and a high level of support. Staff assisted my Gran's
friend to transfer to allow us to go to her room which was clean and tidy, staff brought us an extra chair without being asked as I had said would sit on the floor. Gran had brought a present; a new cardigan and staff offered to take thisand get labelled straight up so didn't get lost. The staff had arranged small Valentine gifts for residents; flower balloons and some sweet treats and people were having their photographs taken with their gifts.
When we were leaving staff all said goodbye and came to assist back into a chair.
Much to my surprise when we left my Gran even commented that should it be needed she could see herself at Crossley House as looked like was lots going on.

Cleveland House Care Home

from Jonathan A (Nephew of Resident) published on 31 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

We needed accommodation for our uncle - the need was urgent as we felt he was being discharged, from hospital, too quickly, following a fall. The team at Cleveland House were fantastic, helping with transfer at very short notice our uncle spent a month at Cleveland House. He was very well looked after.
The staff are friendly and approachable and took genuine interest in our uncle's wellbeing. We strongly recommend Cleveland House.

Queensmount Care Home

from Veronica W (Respite Resident) published on 28 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Queensmount is a very special care home offering a fully integrated package of care including physical, medical, psychological and social aspect delivered by committed professionals and through many channels including hands on nursing, an attractive and clean environment, a shared set of values and
beliefs, tailor made excellent diet and food provision, engaging and stimulating activities with a personalised care package. Nothing is too much trouble to make you feel cared for and home. The varied nationalities and cultures of the staff add a definite positive contribution to this healing community where personal dignity preferences and needs can be accommodated and acknowledged. This was my second visit to Queensmount - this time following a bad flu infection which left me unable to cope at home for a while. I felt that my reasonable quick recovery was down to Queensmount. Queensmount has a special magic which for me, is about its serenity, calm and positive atmosphere coupled with a very high standard of medical and social care.

What kind people who looked after my wife. Thank you so much. What impressed me and my family who visited the home on many occasions was so helpful. The nurses and general assistants were caring for her in her last days. We shall all. Fondly remember theses difficult times where kindness does especially,
count.

Heol Don Care Home

from C G (Friend of Resident) published on 28 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

The care home has a friendly atmosphere and I find the staff very pleasant and helpful. Rooms are very pleasant if a little small to be in for such a long time. The only criticism is that food plates can be often left in the room for hours and I understand that it can be lonely in the evening without
anyone popping in to chat. However, the staff I have met - nurses, those delivering meals/snacks, laundry etc. are all lovely, helpful and brighten up the day of residents. Having the hairdresser, chiropodist, Dr on hand is very good.

We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. We are happy you enjoy the home environment overall, We will discuss your feedback regarding the food plates with the home's manager to help them continually improve their service. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your loved ones stay as comfortable as possible.

All the staff are friendly and caring and do all they can for our mum. A shout out to one lady this week for her help and encouragement in helping mum build her confidence in learning to manage using her new power chair to give her independence around the home.
Thanks x

The Lindsay Care Home

from W S (Daughter of Resident) published on 26 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Outstanding End of Life care for my 98 year old Mother.

After a stay in hospital, Mum returned to The Lindsay Care Home for end of life care. Staff popped in to welcome her back, spend time with her, make her smile, checking on her comfort and her physical, emotional and mental wellbeing, whilst

being mindful of us and recognising we wanted to spend time with her.
I was so very moved by the love, care and respect for Mum's dignity throughout this very difficult time. My husband and I spent 3 days with Mum before she died and were touched by the gentleness, consideration and thought given, not just to Mum, but to us, as relatives too. Senior staff kept us abreast of developments and checked with us at each stage as to how we wished to move forward, the proceedings and what would happen next. When Mum passed away, staff were so very thoughful of our needs. They came up to pay their respects and all had something lovely to say about her. I am so grateful to you all. Thank you.

I don't see my mother often but since new management I feel happy in the knowledge my mother aged 99 is being well cared for. All the staff are friendly and caring and they encourage my mother to leave her room which is not easy due to her hallucinations. Mum's room is clean and tidy. I also notice
there are always staff about which is important as I know they are popping in and keeping an eye on her. We recently celebrated Mum's 99th which the staff did beautifully. I feel confident that Mum is being looked after.

This is to express my thanks to one staff member in particular who has gone above and beyond the call of duty by helping to take my mum's glasses to the opticians for repairing. This staff member has done this on more than one occasion. It's been really helpful as I'm Mum's only child and I live miles
away from the care home. Mum can't cope without her glasses so this staff member has been brilliant and helped us both. What a lovely lady.
