My 90 year old Dad has been living in this care home since July 2024. He came in following hospital care for some respite and his health has gone from strength to strength thanks to the caring staff and manager. We are supported and involved in Dad's care and always informed of any issues that arise.
I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a professional and caring service for their loved one.

Despite only a brief stay at the home our mother was treated with dignity and respect.
Any ratings less than 5 below are indicative only of the fact that refurbishments were being undertaken during her stay. Otherwise, very happy with the treatment received.

Reply from Anda Marin, Manager at Burlington Hall

Dear Pete, thank you for your kind comments. We loved having Mum with us for the short while, we hope that we will see Mum and you all again soon! Kind regards, Anda.

So happy the Shrubbery had space to take my Mum as I had always heard good reports of this care home. They visited her in the hospital and we made arrangements for her to move to the home. The food is good. They provide lots of entertainment and things for the residents to do. She has her own bedroom
and toilet and sink and they have been redecorating the building. All the staff are lovely and from day one they told us that we are family now and that's how it feels, like one big family.

The home and the carers are so kind and caring. They really look out for the residents and also their relatives. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. It is like a family. My mother has been there since February and is very happy there. We are so pleased that she can stay at The Shrubbery.

The Shrubbery care home has an excellent management and care staff team which gives the resident and their family the personal care and individual attention required to meet their needs. They treat us as family rather than clients and their warm and welcoming manner is evident in all of their interactions
with us. We are so grateful and lucky to have the peace of mind that our mum is in excellent care and that she is surrounded by people who she can count on. A special thank you to the staff who has done so much to settle Mum and make us all feel proud to be part of the Shrubbery community.

My father moved across county to be near family. The manager and staff have been superb, ensuring Dad had a smooth transition, great support and care. Total respect for him and family. He had been in hospital three and a half months and I was concerned how he would settle. I am so pleased that Dad has
settled well and is happy. I even saw him singing along to some tunes being played by visiting organiser. Thank you!

My husband has been at Burlington Hall since September 2019. I was so pleased with the care and love he was shown back then. He was treated with respect right from the start. The family was always welcomed and made to feel at home.
However, the dynamic manager has not rested on her laurels. She strives
for excellent care on behalf of the residents and their families. Over the years, the standard of care has continued to improve as my husband has deteriorated. Staff are vigilant in monitoring his health and well-being. They keep me updated with developments and I am always made to feel welcome when I visit him.
There is a strong team of permanent and professional carers which also enhances the care of the residents, as they get to know the residents well and can therefore spot if there is something awry before it becomes a problem.

Mum spent only seventy days in Burlington Hall but each and every one of those days was filled with care and compassion for her and for her situation. Initially, it was thought she would be spending just a couple of weeks in respite care after discharge from hospital. I asked an old friend if they could
recommend somewhere and without hesitation they recommended Burlington Hall. Burlington Hall's wonderful and impressive manager spoke to us and visited Mum in hospital and from there on in we felt that Mum was the complete focus of their care and attention. It was as if Mum was their only resident but I now know that they give the same level of outstanding care to all their residents and families. I am not entirely sure how they achieve this... I suspect the "recipe" is a combination of impressive organisation, sheer hard work... and literally breathtaking amounts of kindness and compassion.
I will never forget all that they did for my mother during her last few months of life.

My 95-year-old mother-in-law became a resident at Burlington Hall for what was expected to be respite care following a fall. She had severe oedema and an aggressive and debilitating cancer. Burlington Hall turned out to be her final home.
The love and care that she was given was of the highest conceivable
standard at every level. Nothing was too much trouble and the care extended to my wife and our dog. In the last days of my mother-in-law's life, she and we were tended and looked after in a way which was personal as well as reassuringly professional. We will be forever grateful.

Our relative had been in the care home for just under four years. Her admission was due to advanced dementia requiring one-to-one care.
Despite all the difficulties of dealing with her the staff always demonstrated care and kindness. They were always very patient despite regular difficulties and provocation
from her.
She was always well turned out, well fed and we believe well looked after.

Right from the day that my mum moved into the Shrubbery, I had no concerns about any aspect of her care.
I visited my mum on a very nearly everyday basis, I live half a mile away from the Shrubbery and do shift work so I was popping in at most hours of the day and night, (after 8 pm is by prior arrangement)
at no point was I concerned with anything, both for Mum and the other residents.
The team at the Shrubbery is caring, professional and well-staffed at all times, the manager is most excellent at her job and this is reflected throughout the whole care team.
Big thanks to the deputy manager, one of the many senior carers, and 'mum's girls' for looking after Mum so well right until her last days.

My husband has had a successful respite stay for two weeks. The experience was a big step for both of us, but with the support of the staff he was able to stay and receive the personal care required. The staff especially the manager showed kindness, patience and support. They were always available for
any questions I had. Hopefully my husband will have a return visit in a few months.

Delighted we chose this care home for our auntie, every time we visit we are made to feel welcome and we have every confidence that aunty is being cared for and this makes it so much easier when we leave.
The whole environment is bright cheerful and clean and the entertainment provided is excellent
and caters for all of the clients.
I cannot fault The Shrubbery in any way, the communication we get is brilliant and we are happy knowing that she is in safe loving hands.

Fantastic service. The staff are so caring and go above and beyond to make sure the stay went well. Cannot thank them enough for the care provided, it put our minds are rest that Dad was

Our dear mum was here for nearly 6 years before passing away in November 2020. During that time we could not fault the care and compassion extended to her and to us! We now feel very privileged to be welcomed as volunteers and be surrounded by such lovely staff and residents where we will strive with
them to continue their core values and you will be welcomed to the Burlington Hall Family.
Built on trust, kindness and respect where we all love to spread happiness with everyone.

My friend was welcomed into Burlington Hall under stressful circumstances in early June 2023 and has received exemplary care and consideration since arriving. All of the staff follow their manager's lead in their welcoming, patient and efficient care and support to residents. They are considerate and
pay attention to individual residents' needs and requests and offer smiles and refreshments to visitors and residents alike. Kindness, respect and nurturing care are shown each day, despite the variety of challenges that are dealt with both day and night. Thank you to you all.
