What a truly amazing home.
My father arrived from hospital in a terrible state but the staff were kind and considerate to him settling him in and cleaning him up. Feeding him throughout the day and some days going in every half an hour to give him drinks when he wasn't drinking enough. My mother joined
him in the same room a few weeks later.
The home is like no other, there is no smell! Beautiful plush carpets and modern dining areas with huge gardens.
Activities throughout the day and they spend a lot of time getting to know each resident individually.
All the staff are so happy and genuinely love caring for the elderly.
Nothing is too much trouble.
Food is very good.
Sadly my father passed away last month, a member of staff didn't leave our side while he took his last breaths.
I'm so relieved that my mum is safe, cared for and happy in there.
I would certainly go in there later in life if I needed care.

My auntie came to Magnolia for daycare once a week to start with, this service was reasonably priced. We then as a family increased it to two days a week due to the fact she enjoyed it so much. All the staff went above and beyond and made her feel at home straight away. My auntie made some amazing bonds
with care staff and other residents which she cherished. Staff were extremely attentive and nothing was ever too much. My auntie enjoyed all the activities especially bingo, and was always something to do!

My mum moved into Moorgate Lodge in January from hospital following a fall at home. From our first initial meeting/visit to the home, we were made to feel very welcome and felt that Moorgate Lodge was the place that would meet our mum's physical, social and emotional needs. The home manager was very
warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. I knew her aim was for her staff to deliver person-centred, evidence-based care to my mum. Which they did and more. Mum received a high standard of care from all members of staff. I stayed with Mum during her last night and I witnessed a high standard of care delivered to Mum with empathy and compassion. The home is tranquil but also has many activities to choose from, well furnished and very clean. Thank you to everyone at Moorgate Lodge.

My mum has been a resident of Moorgate Court for nearly one year. The care she has received has been outstanding. Cast staff are attentive and always make sure residents have a drink. Staff all and treat residents with respect. Mum has had a couple of medical issues recently. She got seen and treated
quickly due to the diligence of the staff and management. I know Mum is looked after very well and she appears to be happy.

What an excellent care home! Everything is A*+ From the kind, thoughtful, caring and friendly staff to the cleanliness of the place. You are always made to feel welcome from the moment you walk in. But the main part is the connection the staff share with the residents, sitting holding their hands, talking
to them and being involved in a range of activities with them. It's a home from home place for them. We sadly lost our sister, but we still visit regularly and are always welcomed. We couldn't be more grateful for the high quality care she received. Moorgate Hollow has become a part of our family!

The home is run by a hard working, fantastic manager who is approachable and works hard to ensure the residents,
staff and families are happy and receiving the highest quality care and support.
Always an amazing atmosphere, the range of activities is incredible and the home is always clean, bright and well maintained at all times. I would definitely recommend Moorgate Hollow, the best care home there is!

I cannot fault Moorgate Hollow, the manager and carers are second to none. Dad has been in the home since November 2024 and really ill for a lot of the time, the care Dad has received has been exceptional tending to Dad's every need with compassion, empathy and professionalism. I could not have wished
for a better home than Moorgate Hollow for Dad, nothing is too much trouble and I know Dad is in safe hands. The home is very clean and well-presented with nice rooms. It also offers the residents lots of activities in-house and trips out which the residents love.

We receive excellent care from the very friendly and efficient staff, they try to accommodate everything we have requested. You have asked for a review on the food and drink, it's very hard to comment as never they're during meal times, but my mother-in-law says the meals are very nice. We have peace
of mind knowing she is receiving excellent care.

Mum lived at Magnolia House for 3 years, during all this time I have always felt confident that hr welfare has been the most important thing to everyone there, her every need attended to at all times. The family have always been consulted and kept informed of her needs and any changes. When mum became
very poorly at the end, the care and attention given to her and our family can only be described as exceptional.

Moorgate Hollow

from J F (Daughter of Resident) published on 28 January 2025

My mum has been a resident at Moorgate Hollow for 15 months during which time her care has been exceptional. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the extremely professional and caring team who go above and beyond to ensure the well-being of the residents. There has been very little change in staffing
personnel during this time, which helps to ensure the individual needs of the residents are compassionately managed and everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
The communal areas, as well as the residents' rooms and en-suite shower rooms, are always spotlessly clean and there is a fresh smell throughout.
The manager has an excellent leadership style with exceptionally high standards and a clear desire to ensure each resident is well cared for. She has a constant drive to enhance the home and always engages family members in seeking feedback and ideas for improvements.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Moorgate Hollow, and I feel fortunate my mum resides here.

I cannot praise the manager and staff at Moorgate Hollow highly enough, they are all so friendly and caring. My Dad has his own en-suite room which is beautifully decorated and is spotlessly clean, as is the rest of the Hollow. He is always clean and tidy. He thoroughly enjoys the activities that take
place daily. He loves the food. All in all, I couldn't ask for better care for him.

My father has been a resident since November 2024. The place is amazing. All staff are so welcoming and friendly, it is spotlessly clean and exceptionally high standard. The food served to residents always looks healthy and delicious.
Upon his arrival at Moorgate Hollow, Dad was very frail and weak.
The staff were all very caring and concerned about my father and said they would do their very best to build him up and get him stronger. The manager put our minds at rest, she is wonderful with everyone and a credit to Moorgate Hollow.
Dad has now gained weight, he is eating really well and walking much better with a frame, he isn't using the wheelchair we took in for him initially. He looks like a different person from the one who went in back in November.
All the staff are excellent, so patient and caring and they always have time to chat and update us on Dad and how he is doing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Moorgate Hollow.

Knowing my dear wife is so well looked after allowed me to travel down south to my two daughters and spend 10 days with them over this Christmas. I had no worries to do this. I have always been allowed to go with them on any of the days out which are sometimes organised which of course is excellent!

The carers at Magnolia House are utterly superb. They are amazing, very caring, attentive and go that extra mile. Mum settled in immediately and has never been upset or wanted to leave. She has been taken out with my dad on a very special trip to Hornsea and also out for fish and chips. There are functions
held especially for the residents with singing, crafts and gardening. I cannot fault this home at all. Brilliant.

The care Mum has received since moving in has been excellent. All of the staff have taken their time to get to know her.
All of her medical needs are carefully monitored and any concerns are relayed to us as next of kin. Mum loves joining in the activities, In particular arts and crafts, baking, flower

from Carolyn W (Daughter of Resident) published on 23 December 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Dad has an onset of vascular dementia and we were concerned about his safety, we found Moorgate Hollow and were instantly impressed. Bedrooms are a good size with ensuite shower rooms/a plus for us. The home is well run by a manager who is very approachable nothing is too much trouble for her and her
fantastic team of staff. Dad was initially admitted on a respite basis a few months ago and as his current state of dementia is not severe we were concerned it was the right level of care he needed at this stage, but it soon became apparent it was the right decision at the right time. Staff have been very supportive to both us and Dad addressing any concerns we may have whilst giving constant updates on his wellbeing, all the staff are great in making sure Dad is happy and involving him in the constant ongoing activities, he has been out with their activity coordinator a few times which he has loved. All in all, we are happy in the knowledge dad is safe and well cared for with his personal needs and dignity being met.
